Shatter the Bad Ending!

[Restore The Crown] This was the novel that I was tasked to review as a contestant for our yearly webnovel event and as someone who had to probably read hundreds of novels by now. It was utter garbage, it was full of overdone tropes and cliches that you could have seen from a mile away. A bland and mary sue protagonist ✓ A list of heroines who fall in love and become obsessed with the protagonist instantly ✓ A myriad of villains who have no other personality other than to hate and try to kill the protagonist ✓ They were all there. Except for the surprisingly catchy title, there was no other positive thing about this novel. But was pissed me off the most was the ending. With no build-up and seemingly out of nowhere, most of the heroines were killed and the world that they lived in became hell on earth. It was literally revealed in a couple of chapters and was clearly done just to shock the readers. Honestly, I wish I could restore the time I wasted reading this novel. But as I said my criticism to the author. The f*cker shot me in the head! (I proofread my chapters by myself, sadly I am only human, so if you find any mistakes, kindly point them out and I will fix them as soon as possible) (This is my first attempt at writing novels, to those who keep on reading despite the occasional mistakes here and there, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I will promise to be a better author, anyways have a nice day and please never build galeforce on twitch, if you do, you don't deserve 8 hours of sleep, that is all, thank you)

Dusk (5)

Death stains the market,

The concrete floor was littered with flesh and guts,

I stand in the middle of it all, my clothes drenched with blood.

Not a single drop of it were mine.

I slowly dragged my body into one of the couches.

The music was still playing in the back.

Yet the four slaves that were dancing to it earlier now looked terrified as they gaze upon the countless bodies that lay lifeless.

[Art of the Assassin is now reaching <Stage 3>]

{Choose a skill to attain}

Before looking at the skills, I think back to the people that I killed.

The cougar who had a green aura gave me 400 XP.

All of her guards were worth 100 XP.

While the others who had not a single aura in them gave me 80 XP.

I did the math in my head, and it means, I just killed 42 customers, 13 F-Tiered guards, and 1 D-Tiered cougar, all in one night.

From a person that hasn't killed a soul, to someone capable of committing a massacre.

I silently laugh at myself.

I took a deep breath,

I can't falter now, in the future I would need to kill even more bad guys.

I need to get used to it,

My head then turned towards the transparent screen.

[Bloodbath]

- The sanguine you spill shall serve a silent slaughter.

[Mirage]

- If they blink they will miss you.

[Second Strike]

- One swing, two blows.

I curse at the damned system.

Because of the vague description, I have no idea what [Bloodbath] does.

So that's off my list.

[Second Strike]?

Could be useful but I already have too many offensive skills,

What I desperately need is this,

[Mirage]

A way to dodge and move around quickly.

[<Mirage> have been chosen]

Underneath my breath, I spoke.

After taking a look at my progress, I stood up from the couch.

All the slaves on the platforms looked at me with fear.

I slowly got up to one of them.

The same girl earlier laid bare before me, her body covered in bruises.

I reached into my pockets and got the device.

"Ple-please!, don't kill me please, I won't tell anyone!"

I was taken aback as she break down before me.

I guess I'm a monster in their eyes, huh?

I slowly got near her.

*CLICK*

The metal collar was set free from her neck.

Her wails stopped instantly and looked at me with widened eyes.

I did the same to the other 3,

I then took the jackets that the guards wore and covered them.

"Tha-thank you,"

I simply nodded and made my way to the bar.

I knew from the novel that there is a hidden pathway here.

I look beneath the table and sure enough, there were buttons.

I pressed the blue one as depicted in the novel.

From the ground, a stairway soon appeared.

As I descend, a row of jail cells was revealed to me, with pitiful souls covered in chains.

Anger soon came into my mind.

"Cotton,"

*CHIRP*

"Where did you hide the key?"

*BLERGH*

He then vomited the key from my head.

It was full of saliva and other fluids from the people he ate.

Yeah, I'm not touching that.

I ordered cotton to unlock the cells.

One by one they opened,

The slaves inside wore ragged garbs with a horrible stench.

But I did care not for that and still freed the collars on their necks.

As I lead them outside.

They all were shocked as they see the slaughter above.

"Whe-where is Mellissa?"

A boy from the slaves came up to me.

"She's upstairs,"

He was momentarily startled by my voice but he soon ran,

Through the guts and flesh scattered around,

Looking away from him, I took the phone I got from the cougar.

"I'm going to call the civil corps, wait for them to arrive,"

When I was about to dial them on my phone.

A girl came up to me and clung to my legs, she wept loudly wetting my trousers.

She was but a child.

Tears welled in my eyes, but I held them back.

I crouched to look at her eye to eye.

"You're free now,"

I say to her as I patted her head.

She then hugged me tightly.

The sudden embrace sparked a smile behind my mask.

I soon stood up and dialed my phone.

"Hello, what is your emergency?"

"Noble estate, beside Amelia's Eatery,"

"Yes, sir?"

"A slave market is there,"

Before she could ask for more information, I hung up the phone.

I then look for the gun I threw.

After finding it amidst the carnage.

I look back to the slaves one last time.

Some of them hugged each other tenderly.

Some were crying uncontrollably.

But all of them were happy to finally be free.

I then made my way out of the establishment.

"Mis-mister!"

I look back and the same child was looking at me.

"Tha-thank you!."

I nod my head at her and left the market.

Before leaving the alleyway, I took my bracelet out of my pocket and changed my clothes.

I look up at the sky, the sun was slowly rising.

Peace soon came into my mind.

So this is what justice feels like?

It's not bad.
