Talk to the Seer

After finishing all the stuff you needed to do with Sunny Isaac had begun to travel towards the camp in the outer city.

This was where Nephis was stationed.

He was currently going there to discuss the plans on them, finding the Crown of Dawn.

After the first week when Nephis, Sunny and Cassia left the inner city. They had slowly begun to realize what was truly going on within the forgotten shore.

Of course it didn't take too long for a few things to happen.

One of the main things that happened was Caster coming in between Sunny and Nephis.

Which eventually led to them having the fated argument where Nephis told Sunny that she learned deception from him.

Isaac had done found Sunny three weeks after within the cathedral.

He had also done a few other things, but those weren't in the open, and the other cohort members didn't know.

He had made deals with some of the captains of the Bright Lord.

Of course, Isaac picked the ones that had already betrayed him within the novel.

The first one was Seishan who was surprisingly the hardest, but also the easiest one to make a deal with.

At first, she had many demands wanting to know how powerful the group in the Outer city actually was.

Isaac knew this was her way of gaining information to possibly see if she could double cross them.

Knowing this, Isaac didn't tell her anything except that the only way she could leave the forgotten shore was to follow Nephis.

Of course, at the beginning, they didn't see eye to eye.

Yet after a bit of "wrestling" Seishan finally saw his point of view and agreed to join.

Of course, Isaac, being as paranoid and methodical, as he was, did not take her up on her word alone.

So at that time wanted to test out the capabilities of his awaken ability, he had created a contract.

Within the contract rules, dictating how and when Seishan should help.

But then at the end he wrote a punishment.

The punishment stated that if she did not uphold these agreements her soul would be dealt severe damage causing it to shatter.

Of course Isaac wanted to test it out and so did Seishan.

As such he told Seishan to attack him.

Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be the greatest method.

But these weren't ordinary circumstances.

Isaac was comparable to her harming Nephis winning chance.

As such, if it's awaken, ability truly held anyway it would activate on the spot.

As Seishan was planning to attack, her knees buckled.

She began to grab her chest, where her heart would be as an excruciating pain could be felt there.

After a while, the pain receded.

Seishan then looked up gazing, and Isaac with the wary expression.

Isaac hid a smile.

It was good to know that his awaken ability could also be used on paper and ordinary contracts, making them binding.

"Ahh good times".

As Isaac slowly began to reach the compound, he saw two people standing on the entry.

They both had armer memories and weapons.

Under any other circumstances, they would both look intimidating.

Yet sadly for them, Isaac wasn't able to use any memory.

Of course even those that should be able to be transferred from one another he wasn't able to accept them.

As such Isaac had to create clothes and weapons from dead Nightmare Creatures.

And with his awakened appearance, he looked much more fierce than the two guards.

When Isaac looked at his reflection, he couldn't help thinking of a mad hunter the corpse of his victims like trophies.

Of course Isaac didn't want to be seen in this kind of light.

But as time went on, he slowly began to disregard those views.

Every creature that he killed and made into a new weapon or into garments that he could wear, he felt sense of pride.

It was a feeling of triumph and liberation.

A feeling of being untethered by natural society and one with mother nature.

But sadly, this wasn't the time to reminisce.

Reaching the two guards, Isaac gave them a nod before both of them made way allowing him to pass.

Behind the two guards there was somebody already there waiting to escort him.

It was Cassia.

Through the months, more and more of the cute baby fat that rounded her face had vanished.

To Isaac's dismay, she looked more like a mature woman than a cute baby.

Though he wouldn't say she didn't look beautiful even now he still enjoyed it better when she had the childlike persona of hers.

Many people hated her for what she did to Sunny.

He was also one of those people.

But after seeing what went on in the future of the book, he was more than glad that she told Nephis about Sunny's True Name.

There were many situations in the future that would have messed up Sunny in it were not for the desire he had to surpass Nephis.

So in truth, Sunny becoming a slave was both a blessing and a curse.

"It's been a while Cas".

Finally reaching her Isaac began the conversation.

Cassia smiled.

Then leaned in has she opened up her arms.

Isaac responded by opening his pulling her into a hug.

"It has been quite some time since you last visited".

She responded.

Cassia continued with a smile.

"I almost thought you had abandoned us and ran off with Effie".

Isaac chuckled.

"Nah, I could never leave you two to your own devices".

Isaac then laughed.

Cassia puffed her cheeks.

'What a squirrel'.

Isaac thought.

"What's so funny".

Cassia asked with an egregious tone.

Isaac snorted as he replied.

"I know for a fact Nephis would rather go into the castle and face the Bright Lord head on with no plan".

This was true even in the novel.

Nephis was never really a good planner.

Her strategies were good yes but most were built upon Cassia's predictions.

The rest could've been thought up by any other sane awakened.

Cassia giggled.

"Well you're not wrong about that".

Cassia responded.

Then she looked down before whispering.

"Even if it means her health".

Due to Isaac's Awakened physique, he was able to hear the small whisper Cassia spoke.

He was inclined to agree with her.

Isa had not been training with Sunny but also Nephis.

Both of their fighting techniques were very different from what Isaac could tell.

Sunny swordsmanship were deadly formless and evasive like a shadow.

But they were also very defense based.

He made sure most if not all of his vital spots could be blocked within a moment notice.

Nephis was the exact opposite.

Due to dormant ability that was able to heal all wounds inflicted onto her body rarity cares about what happens to it during a fight.

She rarely bother with blocking most hits, allowing them to pass through as long as they don't do any severe damage.

This was a good technique as it incorporated her aspect ability.

It also had many flaws.

Unlike most dormant abilities that don't require or even need soul essence.

Nephis dormant ability uses soul essence.

It also unlike other aspect abilities, uses much more than a normal ability.

If her soul essence were to run out she would die.

Isaac sighed.

'I really need to find a way to change that style of hers'.

Isaac thought.

Looking up he finally saw the base of operations.

Smiling he said then looked at Cassia.

"Let's go eat out later, we have a lot of hunting to do".
