Chapter Forty Two Hesitation And Failures

"I present to you all The Outsider!"

Timothy nervously walked into the stage as soon as he was called upon. He didn't want to let his team down, not when everyone was winning. He didn't want to be seen as the odd guy anymore.

He tried giving off a vicious glare to his foe, but instead she responded with a beautiful smile. And he found himself falling for her once more. The pretty panda girl, that's what he called her because of her black and white striped coloured costume.

The simple long sleeve crop top costume exposed her slim flat belly, that remained a feast for the eyes. While her tight fitting pants clung tightly to her body, paving way for her to flex her perfect feminine curves.

He was so so lost in his thoughts that he fell oblivious to what was going on around him. The fight had begun, but he was still in a daze.

Juniper swifty explode like a deadly bomb and swifty reappeared behind him. She exploded once more hoping to have blown him to pieces, but was surprised when she noticed he was being protected by a huge metallic spheric shield with illuminating green streaks smartly marred around it.

The shield slowly retracted into his body. He blamed himself for being too distracted and almost getting himself killed. So he swore to stay focused, as a sudden long metal stick with streaks of green emanated from his hand. She smartly fetched out two daggers and exploded once more causing flames and smokes to disrupt his view as she reappeared behind him and tried stabbing. But to her surprise, two metal tentacles stuck out from his back and slapped away her knives.

The two tentacles swifty wrapped around her as soon as she had attempted to flee. He was unaware of what had just happened, since he's alien system was always on defensive mode. For him, if it were to sense even the slightest of attacks, it would do anything to protect it's host. She yelped in pain as the metal tentacles tightened their hold, she could hear the cracking of her bones.

"Stop!..you'll kill her!" He panicked.

He wanted to say more but unexpectedly a huge metal barrier covered him as burst of flames exploded amidst them. After a few minutes the barrier dispersed and he was welcomed with a tick cloud of smokes. As the smokes slowly faded away, he saw an injured damsel. She appeared to have sustained a serious injury to her abdomen.

"How do you do it?" She managed to ask. "I've tried all I can and yet you seem to know my every move."

He was quiet for a while, but after some moments he simply said. "You can't possibly win, my alien genes are set to react even to the slightest of threats. I can decide to do nothing and still win." He slowly beamed with confidence. "I think it's best you give up now juniper, before any further disaster."

"I can't..." She quickly retorted.

"What do you mean you can't?." He asked feeling a bit irritated. "You guys have been winning almost every year, I don't see how losing this year will affect anything."

"It won't affect theirs. But it'll affect mine." She spoke solemnly. "Am like the black sheep of the team, and if I don't win this match then am off the team."

"What?... how's that?."

"They've been wanting to kick me out for a long time now. If I fail this time, they'll have a reason to." She spoke with teary eyes.

He's heart twisted on seeing her look so miserable and desperate, she looked very innocent and sweet, he couldn't believe their would be a team that would actually reject her. Then a crazy idea suddenly popped up into his mind and he looked at her and said.

"Juniper, hit me."

As Timmy approached the dressing room, he heard murmurs and whispers. He knew his team were really pissed but he didn't really care, so far as he felt right by what he did he was okay.

"You scumbag!" Conner roared as soon as he saw him.

He rushed towards him angrily, but on getting close, the two tentacles suddenly popped out from he's chest and posed defensively.

"You think a pair of skinny metals can stop me!." He said as his body slowly transformed into the likeness of metal.

Sensing the brewing tension, the captain intervened. "Enough Conner!. am sure Tim has his reasons for doing what he did."

She looked at him and then whispered. "Let's just hope you had a good reason and that you'll have the stomach to watch your team fail all, because of your decision."

He could only sigh inwardly, alas he'd been once again seen as the odd one.

Mikaela was called upon and the team prayed hopefully for her to win. The fight was over in only a matter of minutes, it didn't come as a surprise to the team. Infact they had anticipated it to end like that. Cosmic Jane was a very powerful super. Her vast control over gravity allowed her to render her immobile throughout the fight.

She felt so ashamed and kept on apologizing to the team. They didn't blame her, instead they indirectly blamed Timmy for her failure.

Zara was next and the team were once more in high spirits. They all knew how powerful she was, so they were sure to earn a win. The battle was a fierce one but it was obvious that the cards were falling in her favor. She thrust deep in the air as she landed deafening blows and slowly it paid off. The Red Guardian fell to the metal ground as her transparent-like red barrier finally shattered and Zara quickly jerked her off the ground while raising her other fist to strike another blow.

"Enough you win!." The Red Guardian blurted out as she spat out blood violently.

She flashed her a flirtatious smile and said to her "Oh don't feel bad baby, you didn't do bad."

"Well you could have at least tried not to hit me so hard."

"Hmph. I thought I did hesitate, but who's counting. Why don't we catch up later after all these." She pressed on.

"Haha... hard pass tigress, I have a boyfriend."

"He doesn't have to know." She persistently stressed as she gently released her grip.

Carolina chuckled softly and finally caved, she handed her a scribbled paper that contained her number and her other personal info. Zara walked into the dressing room proudly as her team rushed to cheer her.

"That's our girl!" Mikaela rejoiced.

"Great work Zara" Nadia coolly said.

"We never doubted you" Anastasia chipped in.

Bunny kept hugging and clinging to her, while giggling and acting like a kid.

"Zara here's my number as well" Lucas said as he naughtily slipped a paper in between her bossom. "Incase if you and your lesbo friend are in for a threesome."

Her face turned red instantly as she threw the paper away and rushed to give him the beating of his life. But just like a ghost, he vanished.

"Screw you Lucas Able!!!"
