Stay Close To My Heart;
Jack's POV.
Moving into a new apartment was one thing and arranging your stuff in the so called house or apartment was another work all to itself.
I placed my hands on my waist as I watched my luggage being conveyed into my house or my new house by the gigantic guy with so many muscles all over his body.
I was doing this for Abby, I wished to be with her so staying close to her house wasn't supposed to be a crime right.
"Please!! Handle that with care… I wouldn't want my files in my system to get missing all of a sudden!!" I advised and looking at who I was talking to, I felt like peeing in my pants.
"How are you so hug?" I blurted out with my head's up as I tried looking into his red eyes.
"That was how I was created now if you don't mind, I have works to do. You aren't the only one willing to pay just to get his luggage transported to another location" He responded with a deep voice that even made me quiver in fear.
He dropped the luggage on the floor without minding what I had told him about it.
"I guess it would be best to hire someone below you, so you could compel him anytime" I mumbled regretfully knowing what I had to go through controlling them to do things my way.
They were bigger than me, so it was quite impossible for them to listen to me as I was the little one in their midst.
I walked to the window to look outside the house for a short while, but I still had to hide my face, so Abby wouldn't see me.
It was obvious that she was going to leave for work soon, and I was going to make it look like a surprise to her that I just moved into the neighborhood.
I stood still as I watched the beautiful and most colorful birds fly and flaunt their beautiful wings on air like they were just waiting for someone to beacon on them.
I took in a deep breath and had to shut my eyes for a minute as the cool breeze that kept on hovering around the place came at me like I called it with my mind.
"What a beautiful day it is" A smile escaped my lips as I felt the cool weather all over my surrounding.
I was still engrossed with the feeling I had gotten from trying to play along with the environment when I suddenly heard Abby's door being slammed forcefully.
I opened my eyes and looked towards the direction of her house and realized that she was all dressed and ready to leave home for work.
She was cute in her suit and I would have loved to go help her out, but I was still eager to surprise her.
I inhaled and exhaled immediately as I watched her walk towards the highway. After a little while, she got out of sight, and I wasn't going to pursue her all the way to the highway just to monitor her.
I turned around to see what my workers were doing and damn!! They had almost all my stuff shattered to the ground like it meant nothing to them.
"What am I saying, it really meant nothing to them because they weren't the owners of the goods.
I felt frustrated for that Moment that I didn't know when I had lost patient seeing the silly job they were doing for me.
I was fuming up and the only thing that would soothe me at that moment was to yell out my mind at them.
"How the hell would you keep on destroying my stuff like they are useless or garbage??????? Don't you have valuable items in your house??? When you are done, you leave my house because I can't pay you for totally wrecking everything I have!!" I stepped out of the house and slammed the door in their faces.
They all looked astonished as they stood still.
They must have probably thought I wasn't able to yell at anyone because I was little.
I went over to the bench that was beside my house and I sat down on it. I needed to make myself calm.
My temper was increasing and seeing those silly men inside my house was really killing my mood of moving into the neighborhood.
I sat still for a while, inhaling the cool breeze that was all over the place. The scent of the neighborhood itself was so sweet that I felt like staying outside for a hundred days.
Plenty of delicious aromas came running into my nostrils and that had given me an idea.
"I should prepare a nice meal for her to eat when she gets back" I smirked realizing that I was referring to the one I loved.
I stood up from the bench and was about going back into the house since I was all calm now when out of the blue, I heard my name from behind.
"Hey Jack, I didn't know you lived in this neighborhood"
I turned around and discovered that it was late which made me scared.
"Are you now a stalker when you should be with your husband?" I questioned spitefully.
"I have no husband for now Jack and that is because of you!! You made him take a break from me by rejecting him as your staff" She disclosed as she folded her hands and walked closer to where I was standing.
"I didn't reject him because of you Kate. He wasn't just qualified for the role he was seeking after" I notified with a glare on her.
I actually felt like strangling her to death, but I wasn't that kind of person. I wasn't a killer and wasn't going to be one soon.
"Yeah!! He didn't deserve the post anyway and so does your mistress… just know that you will pay for making my husband cry all night for a silly job" She threatened.
Hearing her mention Abby in our conversation made me wonder what she really meant by my mistress would pay for what I did to her husband.
Kate wasn't working in Abby's school, so what could she possibly do? I thought to myself as I darted my gaze from her.
"I don't have anything to say to you Kate so please if you don't mind, I would love to see you leave my sight … I wouldn't want my mistress to see you here" I stocked my tongue out from my mouth rapidly as I teased her.
"You know, you are right Jack… I guess she would return home so early today after all" She ended the discussion in words I couldn't interpret or explain before she walked out of my sight like she was the boss of me.
"I wonder what her husband did to her that she just wouldn't let me have my peace" I scoffed before I turned to go into the house.
I opened my door and all I saw was perfection.
Everywhere looked so nice, neat, and perfect. They probably must have felt pity on me and decided to do the right thing.
"Do you like it?" One of them asked as they were all trooping out from the kitchen with smiles on their faces.
"Like it??. I love it so much. Thanks a lot" I appreciated their kind gestures and work done so well.
I took out my phone, swiped the screen to the left, so I could unlock it and without delay, I wired money into their Captain's account.
"Thanks so much for everything, we've gotten your payment confirmed" They all left my house with happiness all over their system, and I was glad too.
I sat down on the red couch in my sitting room and just when I was about getting comfortable, I heard Abby's door again being opened from the outside and when she got inside, she shut it so loud that anyone at the highway was going to hear it.
"Why is she home this early?" I thought to myself, and that was when the parable that Kate had spoken about earlier popped into my head.
"Did something happen at school?" I asked myself before I stood up immediately and made my way to the kitchen to go prepare the meal I had planned to give to her.
I was done, and I rushed to take my bath before leaving for her apartment.
I wasn't going to reek of filth when I sat down close to her, that would be so shameful.
Soon enough, I got to her door step and although it took her like forever to open the door, I was still happy to see her face.
"You look down Abby, what is wrong?" I questioned.
She had refused to talk to me at first but after speaking to her softly after a while, she opened up to me.
"I've been sent out from the university, Jack" She disclosed as a torrent of tears poured down her eyes while she explained everything to me.
It was then I recalled Kate's statement and the meaning.
I should have known, and I should have stopped her. I thought to myself.
"What are you doing here, Jack? I thought you would be working by this time?" She asked with a confused gaze at me while I sat in front of her.
"I moved into the next door opposite your house Abby, I want to be with you Abby… I would like to stay close to you!" I confessed with a steady gaze on her.
