15: Fear

After Aries told me about the behemoth an eager smile appeared on my face. All I could think about was using those 50 SP, if I got those then I'll definitely be able to take on Axel.

"When can we start."

*Whenever your ready.*

I then make a burst for Rou. I arrive in his room before immediately sprinting at Rou with a gigantic smile on my face. "Rou. I know you've been feeling down for a while. But I want you to hear me out, how would you like to become stronger." Rou looked at me like I was a mad man, "Just let me sleep in peace, when this dream of yours come true I'll think about it."

Though I refused to take no as an answer. So since his eyes where closed I used assimilate to absorb him and take him to the stadium.

Landing on the cold grey surface Rou shot up before yelling at me for a little to which I ignored and still had a smile on my face. "Aries! Bring out the behemoth!!!"

That's when the whole stadium started shaking violently almost like an earthquake. I managed to keep my balance before noticing that the ground was opening and from it we where greeted by one of satans demons.

It was at least 12 feet tall with a fat but durable build with a blend of blue and red skin plated with scales, on his back where massive wing coated in a bright white light, his lower body where 16 spider legs that looked spiky and firm. But his face was something that sent me back, it was Lance. His ugly looking face.

*The Behemoth is the accumulation of all the creature you have assimilated with. It not only holds there physical characteristics but also all of there powers.*

"Who the hell was that talking." "Don't worry about it just keep focus."

My confidence suddenly started wavering. I wasn't sure if I would be able to defeat it. Even with Rou it'll be tough.

But I get no where if I'm just thinking. "Ok bring it to us."

Instantly the behemoths eyes shined a bright red color before launching at us with otherworldly speed. This caught both us of guard and we couldn't even react as we where kicked away by its legs.

The blow it gave me was unlike anything I've felt before. I was grasping my chest with my eyes starting to water, Rou was on his knees holding his stomach, but we where giving no breathing time as it came right for us coating it fist in fire before laying it down on the ground.

We where able to dodge decently well but still recovering from the first blow we couldn't operate at full strength. But Rou gritting his teeth refused to take it lying down. Trying to use snatch to recover quicker but to his surprise he couldn't draw anything.

"Rou!!! The only life force in here is me you and the demon!!" Rou still hadn't figured out the intricacies of snatch so he couldn't take power from anywhere.

Using the brief period of dysfunction between us the behemoth charged against us this time using flash step to cover the distance much quicker. Trying to use my flash step to save Rou I was to late.

The behemoth manifested a light hammer and wacked Rou across the room. He went tumbling for many seconds before his momentum stopped and Rou was left flat on the ground knocked out and bleeding profusely.

I was absolutely stunned, I refused to believe that Rou was so effortlessly beaten. But then the behemoth turned its attention to me, this was incredibly bad. I unconsciously moved backwards, but the demon walked me down. Then my sensed came back to me, I remembered the things I've been through, all of my defeats, all of my growth, I remembered the times I had with Rou who had quickly grown to become my bestfriend. My life was flashing before my eyes.

Getting up with a fierce look in my eyes, they started to turn red, then with an eruption of flames I switched to the flame god transformation.

The I flash stepped straight at the demon and the behemoth ran at me with terrifying speed. We then clashed in a battle of flames. I tried to hold my own but I was pushed back and hurled to the ground. Picking myself up I shrugged off the hit and charged straight back. Using my power of flame I created 8 foxes that where thrown at the behemoth to which he dived straight through before swinging at the mist hitting nothing but air. Then appearing behind him I kick him down making him create a crater.

Still floating in the air I tried to figure out where he was but after the smoke settled he was no where to be see. So I start turning around trying to find him but as I turned my back a steel thread wrapped around pulling me down.

Turning around I was faced with the impact of the behemoths fist that sent me flying.

I landed on the ground strongly drifting in and out of of consciousness. I was honestly deliberating on whether to fight back or just take it since I couldn't die in the stadium. But looking up to see a monster towering over me ready to obliterate me I also see a figure, standing over me without no fear in his movement.

It was Rou, instead of being somewhere else bleeding out he was standing on his two feet still bloody with a lot of scars on him.

"Az, over the near year I've known you've grown closer to me than just being a friend. Your the only thing I can truly call a brother, you where always there to save me when I needed you the most." Suddenly Rou's body started emitting steam and his wounds started healing. "In all honesty I feel more of a burden than a partner. But now I refuse, I refuse to be a burden to you." Now fully healed Rou started taking steps towards the behemoth, before flash stepping and kicking the behemoth across the head sending him flying.

"No more, I will become your comrade not your burden."

And as he finished he speech all I could be was visually stunned with what seemed like a tear emerging.
