12: Knocking on Deaths door

"AZURRIAHHHHH!" In a voice of pure rage Rou yelled after seeing what has become a close friend of his die, or that's what he thinks.

Rou charging at full speed towards the demon known as Axel with strong killing intent was quickly punched down by the last knight. "Good coverage Tsar." "Thank you captain."

"Damn you!" Rou slowly getting up was out of ideas of what to do, he planned to rush Axel with pure speed, but now that the knight known as Tsar was here... did he have to leave his dear comrade behind... the one he spent months with, someone who made a promise to become his comrade.

That's when suddenly Rou started gathering strength, strength from the life force around him.

"I refuse." Getting back to his feet with his newly acquired strength. "I refuse to leave my comrades behind again, I refuse to lose!"

Suddenly huge chunks of mana started gathering into one single location, that location being Rou.

"He's... changing." Axel quickly realizing that something was happening to Rou was quick to take action.

"Tsar, attack him." "Of course." With a big smile on his face Tsar rushed at Rou but he just stood there waiting, then when he finally crashed on the ground massive amount of smoke surrounded. And as the smoke settled all that was there was Rou holding an unconscious body by the neck.

"Don't waste my time by sending your lame goons. Do you dirty work yourself demon." "I simply wanted to assess your abilities."

And after a long face off the real battle begun. Rou with his new found strength charged at Axel, they where briefly showing off there hand to hand combat skill until Rou slipped a over head kick and gave a strong punch to the ribs, breaking all of them.

Axel was stunned for a moment until his healing factor kicked in to which he took a step back to create distance between them. But Rou did not allow it, he soon released a barrage of attacks to which Axel block them all.

But the hard headed Rou did not give up, he then used his mana to enhance his hits. To which Axel really started feeling the heat.

He again tried to take a step back but Rou made an extra step to close of his outlet.

Preparing a killing blow Rou left his jaw wide open to which Axel countered. "You're almost as strong as him. But that won't be enough to defeat me." Axel's black marks on his arm then started to grown forming a sword.

Rou had recovered from the last attack and was now ready to rush in again but this time Axel made the first move.

Swinging his blade at Rou's neck hoping to get a quick victory, but Rou dodged nicely. He then started using more of his own abilities slipping into his shadow.

Axel was of course surprised by this trying to sense his mana, but before he could find his target Rou sprung up from Axel's own shadow. He then came down with an axe kick to his skull which hit its target pushing his head into the ground. Then proceeding to kick him back into a building.

"What the hell, why am I starting to feel slower." Rou was beginning to feel the drawbacks of snatch, unlike Ban who has a immortal body Rou would die if he overuses snatch.

But he didn't have long to process what was going as Axel appeared again this time he was levitating in the air.

"We should end this now, we can't keep fighting forever now can we." "First thing we can agree on you bastard."

So using the last bit of energy he had Rou gathered as much life force as he could from his surrounding and thanks to his mana training with Azuriah he was able to blend in his mana with snatch.

But on the other hand Axel was making a purple flame phoenix, it was a massive attack that was the same size of a duplex.

The whole area was a blend of gold and purple light, that looked like they where fighting.

"Let's finish this!!" Then with one final roar both of the titans clashed, at first they looked equal but after a few seconds you could see that Rou was under pressure. He tried to push back but it wasn't helping, and he kept losing ground. "DAMMNN ITTTTT!! I REFUSE TO LOSE AGAIN!" Trying his hardest to push back but to no avail.

"You must come to know what true strength is. Take this as a lesson to your next li-" Before Axel could finish his sentence a third figure appeared. His bright red fire overshined all and as he unleashed a fiery blaze Axel could not handle it.

"What the hell!! Your supposed to be dead!! I destroyed your heart!" The all but calm Axel finally released rage.

"Where one loses a heart 6 more appear!" The figure was in fact Az who was recovering from not only the combustion of his heart but also the drawbacks of his transformation.

Axel was now being attacked from all sides, he couldn't keep them both occupied.

"I told myself I would never lose again!! Even after losing to him!!"

Axels mind then went back to the past where a small figure with blonde hair and a sword even bigger than him was staring into his soul with his scary black eyes.

Suddenly snapping back to reality he knew he couldn't last much longer.

But then a purple light orb was struck at both Az and Rou piercing there legs. The outlet of that attack was a now conscious River.

Seeing the chance his comrade provided for him he quickly released everything he had at the now off balance Rou and Az. And the boys couldn't handle it and where overpowered.

All of this caused a massive explosion which eradicated about 1/4 of Danaford.

After everything finally ended Axel floated down to see the bodies of his victims, but to his surprise there was nothing left...

In a busy street was all the injured men and women who tried escaping the battle, and hurriedly racing down this street was a huffing and puffing man who was heavily injured carrying another hurt man on his back, they didn't exactly stand out as everyone was in a similar position after trying to retreat from the scene of the battle.

"Hey you over there!" Suddenly looking to his right the man who was in fact the injured Az noticed and remembered the boy. It was the same boy who Rou saved.
