The VR helmet displayed a lot of options. Several of them were real-world operations, and some of them are sandbox simulations for us. There was also the screen that showed the status of the others. Garth and Maria were training in the terrorist bomb situation. Cecile was training in a solo infiltration to a new USSR base in Stalingrad.
I joined Garth and Maria in the terrorist bomb situation. The VR quickly transported me into the simulation and gave me the necessary information about my team database and data. Some of them were about callsign, I got Foxtrot 5, Garth was Foxtrot 1, and Maria was Foxtrot 2. The whole Foxtrot team was dealing with the terrorist in a building.
I spawned in like a SWAT team at the entrance of the building. It was a tall building somewhere in the DC district. Behind me was my buddy for that operation, and his callsign was Foxtrot 6. The civilians were looking at us behind us.
Wilson: "Foxtrot 5, moving inside the building with Foxtrot 6."
Garth: "Roger that, proceed to the sixth floor via the stairs. Don't make any noise!!"
Foxtrot 6: "Copy."
I was equipped with an MP5 with a suppressor. My rig was full of 9mm parabellum magazines. The pocket had a walkie talkie, and I was wearing a helmet with a headset and a ballistic glasses on my eyes.
We climbed up the stairs stealthily from floor to floor. Our team was divided into four sections. Foxtrot 1-4 was standing by on the sixth floor, it's the Alpha group. Foxtrot 5-6 was us who was going to support the infiltration, it's Bravo group. Foxtrot 7-10 was the one who was in the roof doing a marksman and logistic support, it's Eagle group.
Maria: "Fox 2 has found the bomb,"
Garth: "Great, Foxtrot 7-10. Could you send us the EOD suit?"
Foxtrot 8: "Foxtrot 8. Copy. Reeling the equipment now."
I heard the sound of a glass breaking.
Wilson: "Foxtrot 5 to Foxtrot 1. Does the bomb has a hostage in it?"
Garth: "Fortunately, no."
Wilson: "Ok."
I finally arrived on the sixth floor, and I saw the container that contains the bomb suit. I brought the container to the Alpha group.
Right there, Maria and Garth were standing by near the 1x1 bomb. Their team was guarding the bomb.
"Who is going to defuse the bomb?" I asked as we dropped the container on the floor.
"Of course Fox 2 is going to defuse it," Garth said while hitting Maria's helmet.
"Roger," Maria said as she took off her helmet and put it in the ground.
She took off all of her body armor and rig except for the uniform itself. She opened the container and wore that bomb suit on her body.
"Ok, be careful, eh," I said as I flew a drone to the bomb.
"Ok," she said as she grabbed a toolbox full of bomb disposal equipment.
The bomb was a square meter bomb with the detonator located right outside the weapon. Luckily, Garth managed to put a jammer so no terrorist could detonate it, although there was a timer, and the bomb was screwed tight to the floor.
"Can we remove the screw of the bomb then dump it outside?" I asked because of the footage from the drones.
"Nah, the power of the bomb is strong enough to destroy the entire block," Maria said as she tinkered with the detonator.
"Ok, do what you want. I will find the other terrorist," I said as I gave the remote control to Garth's hand.
I walked to the stairs again and turned on a mini radar on my phone. It detects every human within a radius of 10 meters except ours. I walked to the seventh floor and scanned every corner of the building.
The building was messy as hell. The worker's desks were having the paper scattered across the room. It looks like they were leaving the building in a very panic state.
I checked on one of the desks in the office and saw a picture of a father and his daughter.
"Hmm, I wish I know who is my real parents," I said as I looked at the picture.
"Wilson, the bomb has been defused," Maria said as the simulation fades crumbles, and the helmet displayed the real-time on the HUD.
4.30 AM.
"Garth, it's time to wake up," I said as I put off the helmet from my head and put it on the table.
He opened his eyes and released that helmet from his head. With a messy white hair, he grabbed a towel and walked to the bathroom with his bare feet.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. I wondered who it is.
I opened the door, and James still in his pajama told me, "You have a guest."
"Ok, I will head to the central," I said as I wore a flip flops and opened the door and headed to the center building, which was the principal's office.
It was a two-story building with a lot of windows. The door was a glass door, and the lobby was also functioned as a guest room.
I opened the door. I saw the principal was talking with someone none others than the companion of the hero itself, Captain Hasslebrown. She was wearing a beautiful grey dress with a pair of matching white ballerina flats on her feet.
"Good Morning, Wilson. Sorry for waking you up this early, but you have a very important guest. Wilson, this is Christine Hasslebrown, the companion of the hero itself," the principal said proudly.
I sat down at a nearby chair and shook her hands, "My honor ma'am. My name is Wilson Galliard. Pleased to meet you," she smiled at me.
"Could you leave the boy alone with me here?" She asked the principal, politely.
"Of course," the principal said as she entered her room again.
The room's warm feeling turned into a cold sensation as I glared at Captain Hasslebrown's face. She brought a briefcase with her and gave me a file.
I opened the file and got the coordinates of her FOB. It was located near the forest and far from civilization. The Heather and Flameguard had supplied this base with a lot of supplies, including APC and MBT, although the transportation of MBT was using a heavy tractor, which attracted the attention of many villages that they passed along the way.
The FOB has a helipad, and some UH-60 helicopters parked there. The commander of that FOB was Christine herself. Though, if Meyer decided to expand the base further. Then LTC Sobri has to take control of that base. By the time that that base needs expansion, LTC Sobri will have been promoted to a colonel.
I put the file on the table in front of me, and Christine put it back into her briefcase, "Anything else to report, Captain?" I asked her again.
"Nothing else to report, for now, Captain, except for one thing," She said with a pause.
"And what it's that?" I asked as she put the briefcase back to the sofa.
"Lieutenant Harrington is going to teach here," She said as she left the room.
"What?? How??" I shouted to her, but she had already gone too far from my position.
