The Demon in Your Heart

Me and Yu were on the rooftop waiting for Shinoa to start our next part of training, as members of the Vampire extermination unit.

The door opened and this young teenage girl, stepped outside and was holding two love letters while blushing at the both of us.

"Um, Yuichiro and Cain Hyakuya? You guys saved me from those two vampires. Thank you so much! I love you! I wrote down what I feel in this letter, please read it! The girl hurried off as I burned my letter.

"I'm not interested in that type of nonsense, the only thing that brought me any sort of carnal pleasure, was when I turned on the news, and saw the destroyed faces of the family members of my victims. Besides, if a girl easily fell in love just like that, then she's nothing but a love-sick naive fool."

Shinoa appeared and teased the both of us that we were virgins, and that the Japanese imperial demon army, encourages human reproduction.

"Enough Shinoa, we didn't come here for something as stupid as that, tell us what do we have to do to continue our training? I was getting anoyed by the waste of time.

"Silly Cain, your training as a member of the Vampire extermination unit has already begun, the both of you are in training to receive the thing your heart most desires." Shinoa manifested a flaming scythe, with a gigantic demon above it.

Shinoa explained to us that this was a Cursed Gear, a black-magic weapon that can be contracted and has the ability to slay vampires.

Yu was ecstatic to learn about the capability of the Cursed Gear, and demanded Shinoa hand over the scythe, and the two began to fight.

I watched the fight with some interest, I wanted to find out a little about Shinoa's abilities and weaknesses, to analyze her fighting style.

The fight ended with Yu's loss, conventional weapons were almost useless to Cursed Gear users, I was about to challenge Shinoa to a fight with my powers, when Yoichi was being chased by the bullies.

"Have you pathetic weaklings still haven't learn your lesson? What do you want with Yoichi? One of the bullies paled when he saw my expression.

"Well, uh, y'see we got this really major problem right now. Our friend Yuji, went to the forbidden chamber and hasn't come out." The bully looked panicked as both Yu and me gave him black looks.

"Aha, you guys trespassed into one of the army's class-1 restriction zones, didn't you? Shinoa coldly asked the flustered bullies.

"Well, uh, we....." The bullies tried to stamper out an excuse, but Shinoa didn't truly care.

"I am not interested in your excuses, I expected he went there on some foolish dare or order, correct?

"Unfortunately, anyone caught entering that restricted zone is severely punished." Shinoa informed them as the wind began to blow.

"Th-Then, Yuji...."

"He's likely he's been arrested,and it's possible that he will be executed." The bully was silent as he started to beg for us to help his friend.

"You can't mean...but you guys are apart of the army's elite now, right? Can't you just save him?

"No we can't, give up on your friend." Shinoa began to walk away from us, and followed Shinoa into the basement for the forbidden chamber.

Shinoa began to tell us the truth about this school and this place, the entire school was an front to see who was able to resist the demons aura in the basement.

We entered the Shrine where the demon was being held, and we watched as Yuji looked completely of control, and wanted to attack us.

I went inside the summoning circle that contained the demon, and took the axe from Yuji, despite Shinoa insistence to make me and Yu stay out of it.

I was wearing the livestock uniform, and Mika and the rest if the Orphanage kids, were surrounding me in a circle.

"Look at you, enjoying your life as all of us are dead, and you won't even try to get revenge on the vampire who killed us, don't you care about your family? The children got closer as they tried to remind me of their deaths.

"Family? Out of all the manipulation to try on my mind, you try to make me guilty over the deaths of some pathetic children? I never once considered any of those kids as my family." I overpowered the demon and grabbed it by the throat.

W-Wait, don't you want more power? I can give you the power to do whatever you want, kill whoever you want, isn't that something you desire? The demon tried to temp me but I wasn't interested in his pleas.

"I do want power, but why would I get that from some low-level demon like you? I want to drown this entire world in blood and fire."

A black goo-like substance started to come from my body as it consumed the demon, I felt my strength rise and something change deep inside me.

I abruptly woke up from my subconscious, as Yu, Yoichi, and Shinoa were huddled aurond me, Yu congratulated Mr on defeating the demon and completing the next step of our training.

I didn't care as my body felt different, it was a small change and it was barley noticeable, but I could still feel something forming in my body.

I ignored the change for now, and left the Shrine with the others, as we reported the bully to the JIDA, and waited for their answer.

"He is here! He is here! I'd recognized him anywhere, the red-eyed figure who was bigger and quicker than me, and then I thought I was dreaming, and that he looked like a demon, and I remember kicking and screaming thinking no one can hear me, for what he did to me he's going to die! The others agree he needs to die! We'll never be free until he Dies!
