THE TWO OF them was heading the way to Zoe's small office beside a huge shelter with a name 'Angels' Haven'. The name was designed in an arched way and was displayed on the roof of the shelter.
Zoe founded Angels' Haven charity last year to help children who suffer from any kind of disease. It may be a minor or serious sickness, everyone is welcome to ask help from the charity.
They provide sick children with shelter, financial assistance and even treatment for free. Thanks to the donations that are given by the people with generous heart, they have been abled to save many young lives.
For the past year, Angels' Haven had helped a lot of children in their country recover from their sickness. Not only the children benefited from it but also their parents who don't have enough money to send their children to treatment.
Zoe was beyond grateful seeing the charity she founded has been a great help to others.
But Angels' Haven is nothing without the nurses and doctors who always monitor the children's health, the volunteers who patiently took care of them and all the donors and people who supported and believed to the charity.
Zoe and Nurse Wendy went inside her office and she sat on her desk while Nurse Wendy took the visitor's seat.
"Here are the latest report of the Angels' Haven for the last week, Miss Zoe," the nurse said as she hand two white folders to Zoe.
"Thank you." Zoe took out the folders and opened them one by one. She read the first folder which contains the records of their patients.
As of the moment, they are assisting thirty-six children. Serious cases includes brain tumors, blood cancer and heart diseases, to name a few.
Zoe skimmed on the documents and she was happy that most of them are getting better each day. She separated the files of those who have worse conditions and planned to give them a visit.
Not all children under Angels' Haven are staying in the shelter. They can still choose whether they wanted to live in the shelter or stay in their homes, nevertheless, they will still be assisted.
Children with worse conditions stay on the shelter for convenience. Those who have no relatives at all or whose families can't take good care of them are advised to live in the shelter. Some who have busy parents are being dropped off and also picked up when they already have free time.
Whatever suits the patients, Angels' Haven will cater each and everyone of them.
"Miss Zoe, we have two new applicants," Nurse Wendy handed Zoe another folder, "Philamer Xui has skin cancer and Sycha Abella was diagnosed with brain tumor."
Zoe nodded sadly, "I'll give their parents a call so they can already send them here," Zoe looked at the nurse in front of her, "Nurse Wendy, I'll be busy for the next week so I want you take in-charge of Angels' Haven at that time."
Nurse Wendy smiled, "It's my pleasure, Miss Zoe."
"Sorry to bother you again, I'll assign someone to help you."
"You appointed me as the manager of Angels' Haven so it is my responsibility to look after the job whenever you are busy, Miss Zoe."
An apologetic smile crept upon Zoe's lips, "Thank you, Nurse Wendy."
Zoe opened another folder and read the donations happened last week.
"Mr. F.L. donated another five million dollars yesterday," Nurse Wendy spoke.
"Do we still have no information who is Mr. F.L.?"
"Sadly, our research team hasn't found out his true identity yet, Miss Zoe. They could not also track his address."
Zoe nodded. Mr. F.L. was their first donor when they founded Angels' Haven and until now, he is still sending millions of dollars donations every week.
For Zoe, it's not already a donation but it seems that Mr. F.L is already funding the charity.
It's been too much but they don't know his real name. They believe that FL is his initials since it's his signature whenever he sends money to the charity. They did a lot of research to find Mr. F.L. but it seems that this person wanted to keep his identity secret and they respect it.
In order to thank him, they posted thank you letters outside the charity and their social media pages, hoping that the mysterious donor will know that they are very grateful of him.
"It's fine as long as we show our thanks to him. Let us just respect his decision if he doesn't want to reveal himself."
Zoe continued to read on the files when they heard series of knocks coming outside her office.
"Mami! Mami!"
It was Denyse' voice.
Nurse Wendy hastily opened the door and Zoe also walked towards them.
"What's wrong, Denyse?" Zoe asked nervously as she crouched down to level her height to Denyse.
Denyse looked at her with shining eyes and answered, "Mami, there is a tall and big and handsome guy outside! But we don't know him!"
Confusion passed through Zoe's eyes. Denyse doesn't seem to be afraid but she looked excited.
She stood up and carried Denyse in her arms as she got out of her office.
'Who is this tall and big and handsome guy she's saying?'

"That's impossible! I will be the one to marry Mami!"
"I told you he is Mami's husband. Look."
Hans watched the scene of little children in front of him. He was completely confused.
The child with eyeglasses showed his tablet to the other child. The other children also looked at it. Hans can't see what he showed but the other little boy glared up at him.
'What have I done?'
He just went here to look for Zoe but now he's been blocked by ten small children and accused him that he is the husband of whoever they call mommy.
"I will call Mami now!"
Hans heard a little girl's voice and saw a child running away in her short legs.
Hans knew that Angels' Haven is a shelter for sick children and Zoe Quinn is the founder of it so it's no wonder why there are many children swarming around him.
After taking his lunch earlier, he told Uncle Herman that he will be the one to fetch Zoe, since it is a rest day for the couple.
Hans wanted to go to Angels' Haven at four-thirty so that he will arrive at exactly five but he got bored so he drove here instead, three hours before his target time.
The guard let him enter upon hearing that he is here for Zoe and now he is standing on the wide green lawn, surrounded by the curious looks from these little children.
He saw them sleeping but for some reason, they woke up one by one and now blocking his way.
The little boy who glared at him asked, his head chiseled up to meet his eyes, "Who are you, big guy?"
'What a brave little guy.' Hans thought.
Hans crouched down so that the child will not get tired of looking up at him, "Hans Donovan."
"See. I told you, Vegas."
The eyeglasses little guy also looked at him, Hans shuddered when he saw how sharp those eyes are.
'I just introduced myself, why are they looking at me like I did a bad thing?'
'You did the worst things in your life, Hans.' His other mind reminded him.
"NOOOO!" Vegas, as the eyeglasses child called him, burst into tears in front of him.
Hans panicked. He didn't even touch the child!
"Hans? What are you doing here?"
Hans attention was caught by a voice, it was Zoe with shock written in her eyes while she carry the little girl who ran away earlier.
"MAMIII!" Vegas cried and ran to her and the other eight little children followed.
'So she is the mommy they are talking about.'
Zoe crouched down and put the little girl down, she opened her arms to meet Vegas who was crying.
"What happened, little Vegas?" Zoe's voice was so gentle.
Hans watched Zoe as she wiped away Vegas' tears with her thumb.
"Mami.. tell me the truth.. is he.. your husband?" Vegas asked between his sobs as he pointed his short index finger at Hans.
Zoe rubbed Vegas' back to calm him down and whispered, "Who told you?"
"Phoenix..." the little guy cried in her arms.
"Mami, he is your husband, right? I saw it here. He is Hans Titus Donovan."
Phoenix showed their wedding picture in a published news about Donovan-Quinn wedding. Zoe have no choice but to tell them the truth.
She looked up at Hans. He is standing on his spot earlier, watching them with his hands on his both pockets. His face is stoic and blank.
Zoe looked at the children who seemed to be waiting for her answer, "Yes kids, Mr. Donovan is my husband."
The children looked up at Hans, others are smiling at him while others don't seem to like the fact the he is their mommy's husband.
"But Mami, I told you that I will marry you in the future. Why are you not believing me?" Vegas felt so sad, knowing that her Mami married another man and not him.
Zoe smiled at Vegas, cupping his cheeks gently, she explained, "Little Vegas, you are still young to think about marriage. You should prioritize your health first. As you grow up, you will meet different persons and Mami will be very happy if you find someone you will love for the rest of your life."
Zoe doesn't know if Vegas understood what she said but the little guy slowly nodded his head and turned to face Hans.
With his brave face dampened with tears, he said in a challenging tone, "Mr. Donovan! If you'll hurt our Mami, I will steal her from you!"
Zoe felt a tug in her heart. If only they knew.
Zoe smiled apologetically at Hans and she turned to the children, "Kids, can you help Nurse Wendy in taking your pillows back inside?"
Nurse Wendy who seemed to understand what Zoe meant, she called the kids, "Let's go and fix your beddings then we will proceed to the art room."
The kids nodded and followed Nurse Wendy after taking one last glance at Hans.
Zoe saw how Vegas and Phoenix threw a glare at Hans before running towards the others.
When the children were far enough, she stood up and faced Hans, "I'm sorry about the kids," she apologized.
"It's fine," coldly, he responded.
"Uhmm, why are you here?"
"Why? You don't want to see me here?"
"No! That's not what I meant." Zoe instantly defended herself.
She knew better how much she wanted to see Hans every second.
"I came here to pick you up. Weekends are Aunt Dhalia and Uncle Herman's rest day."
Zoe doesn't know about it and she immediately felt guilty asking Uncle Herman to give her a drive.
"I didn't know. Sorry."
Hans didn't say anything but stared at Zoe. She then became conscious again with how she looks.
With so much courage, she spoke, "But I promised the kids that I will be with them until dinner so I can't go home yet."
"I'll wait."
Zoe was stunned. He will wait for her? For real?
Her heart couldn't help but fluttered in happiness.
"Okay! Would you want to go inside my office?"
Hans shook his head, "No need. Just go with your usual day here."
Zoe thought of something and asked Hans while smiling, "Then we should join the kids in the art room."
Hans nodded.
Zoe expected Hans to turn her down but he agreed to join them.
'I'm not dreaming, am I?'
Zoe looked at her husband. He was acting like a different person from earlier who said no and rejected her!
