♦Selena's POV♦

I taste the panic at the back of my throat when Dane makes that request, he's upset about something I can tell and I hope it wasn't what I'm thinking.

When we're sufficiently far away that Cyril can't even pick up on our thoughts, I stop pulling him.

We're close to the ocean and I hoped that the roaring of the waves would serve as white noise for our delicate conversation.

"What's wrong babe?" I ask immediately, my palms going sweaty.

"Okay, calm down." Dane says quickly but it sounds like he's telling himself more than he's saying to me.

"Okay, how about you just tell me everything that happened since we separate so I don't go jumping to conclusions." I say logically, because I can sense the panicked state of his emotions.

"I can do that." He agrees, taking deep breaths.

"So, after you guys left we all got into Cyril's car and he drives us down to your house."

"Did anything happen in the car?"
