It has been one week since Fan MeiLi has returned to China and she found finding a job to be a difficult task. She might have learned many skills but she needs to keep a low profile while being back home. If her family found out that she return to China they would only make her life a living hell.
Walking out a company building, Fan MeiLi let out a long sorrowful sigh because of the fail interview. This has been the fourth company to turn her down even if she has all the qualifications, and knowledge for the position. She saw a food cart across the street selling dumpling soup and the smell brought a smile to her face. Even if Fan MeiLi was down about not getting the job she wasn't going let it ruin her day and good food was a way to make everything better.
After buying her a small bowl she sat on a bench to enjoy her meal while looking at her phone for more job options. She happened to overhear two ladies who sitting behind her, "Hey, did you hear about the job openings at the Hansoo group." A redhead lady said.
"Oh my god, that company is the best! I so wanted to work there when I first started out but no luck." Another employee stated.
"I know what you are talking about but what can you do, Hansoo group is an elite company."
"My job here is great but I still might go for an interview, I mean this is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
"Well good luck if you get hired don't forget me when you make it big." The red-headed employees' friend said.
Seeing that their conversation was coming to an end I finished up my soup and proceed to leave. On my mind was the talk about Hansoo group job openings, Fan MeiLi heard about this job before but it risks her being in the spotlight. Just as she was about to forget about applying she happened to see one job post that is very low-key in the Hansoo group. It was for a mail carrier, it was an easy job that pays well and didn't risk her being noticed by important people.
Fan MeiLi stopped in her tracks after reading about the job, it would seem that this was a perfect job made for herself. Knowing it came with some risk she still thought applying was her best choice considering she was running out of ideas of where to work. Also, on the bright side, she could work in the same company as Zhang Jing and she can help her keep a low profile.
Hansoo Group
In his office, Li Wei was working on some paperwork when he heard a knock on his door, looking up he saw his mother entered. Putting down his work he got up from his seat to greet his mother with a smile. "Mother, what are you doing here?"
"What I can't visit my son?" Mrs. Li asked with a frown.
Motioning for her to take a seat, "Of course not, I was just a little surprise to see you today."
"If I don't come to visit you, you'll never take the time from your job to see your poor mother."
Li Wei just continued to smile and waited for his mother to get to the point, he always knows that she is planning something when she tries to play a guilt card.
"Ahem, you know that your grandfather's birthday party will be happening soon, right? I was wondering who you will be taking as your date." His mother asks picking up the tea that his assistants brought in.
Li Wei wanted to sigh, his mother always had marriage on the mind and today was no different. He knew ever since he took over the family he was urged to get married but he never found the need. He picked up his tea and took a moment before he answered, "Mother, this is a family event, I don't need a date for such an occasion."
"Nonsesces! Son, you are not getting younger and I know that your grandfather wants to see you settled down with a nice young woman."
"Mother, it's just not the right time."
Mrs. Li put down her tea and let out a sigh and gave her son a sad frown, she understood that he was a workaholic just like her father but this was about the future of the Li line. She has tried to set him up with a countless nice and talented young woman but he always ended the relationship before it began. This time it would be different, she got word from her good friend that Mrs. Wu that her daughter returned to China. She knew the daughter since a young age and always wanted her to be a part of her family. Failing before was sad but she is determined to have Nancy Wu as her daughter-in-law.
"If you don't want to bring a date then maybe you have someone I know attend with you, my good friend Mrs. Wu's daughter returned and she would make a great companion." Mrs. Li said with a smile.
"I won't make any promises but I'll keep it in mind."
"I see you still feel a little pressure so how about spending some time with Nancy, then maybe you'll come to enjoy her around."
Li Wei saw that his mother wasn't going to let this thought go so he agreed to talk with Nancy Wu but made no deal on bringing her along as a date to his grandfathers birthday. After Mrs. Li left his assistance, Mo Han came and saw the cold look on his boss' face.
Just as he wanted to leave he heard a cold voice, "Get me a detail report on the Wu family." It was so quick that Mo Han had to take a second look back to see Li Wei already working. Agreeing to his order, Mo Han exited the office and let out a sigh if his boss was looking into someone it wasn't a good thing. It did have Mo Han wonder one thing how did the Wu family get on Li Wei's bad side.
