"Does something bother you, Evan?" The father finally asked. "You can tell me if that's the case. I'm struggling to catch up with your hint."
Evan Livares knew that his parents didn't like it when he talked about himself being adopted and all. He knew that it was because they didn't want to consider him as an adopted son but as a real one. They hated when they were reminded of the fact that remained no matter how much time passed.
It was why he never mentioned it to them unless it was completely necessary. However, this time, he felt like he should talk about it. He can do that without mentioning the reappearance of his birth father. The decision wasn't easy to make for Evan but he still ended up making it.
"I was just wondering if the military would accept someone like me," he muttered; reading the reaction on his father's face.
