Tutorial... Again?

"Where am I?"

A young man looked around a seemingly normal bedroom with a look of surprise and confusion on his face. This was Lucien, he had short brown hair and an athletic physique, but nothing special.

"I thought that Minotaur crushed me with its club, but it doesn't even look like a dungeon. In fact, it looks like I'm in my old room."

Lucien looked around, and he spotted the digital clock which he had on his bedside table when he was seventeen. He checked the date on it, and he instantly recognised it.

"Today is the day I was summoned for the Hunter Tutorial. If I remember correctly, it was around this time to-"

While in the middle of his thoughts, Lucien suddenly disappeared from the room and appeared in a blank space, and a screen appeared in front of him.

*Welcome to the Hunter Tutorial. You will face multiple opponents to determine the Class this is best suited to yourself. These opponents will become increasingly powerful. The better you do in the Tutorial, the better your Class will be. Good luck, the first enemy will be spawned shortly.*

Lucien was ready for this, as although he didn't know how or why he had returned to the past, he knew that he wanted to do better than he had in his previous life as a C rank Hunter with the Mage Class. The reason he had been given the Mage Class in his previous life was due to his lack of physical combat ability, but if he wanted to get around this, he would need a strategy to defeat the enemies ahead of him.

Lucien wanted to see if he could access mana at all, since he was experienced in the use of magic from his previous life. He tried to circulate the little bit of mana that was dormant inside of everyone, even before gaining a Class.

After a few seconds, he could tell that he was successful as there was a warm feeling spreading throughout his body. He would not be able to use any magic as he did not have any skills, but he would be able to freely utilise the bit of mana he had, and that could be used in a few ways.

He didn't have time to think about it any further, as the first enemy spawned in front of him. The Hunter Tutorial started off with creatures from Earth that would transition into monsters if you could get that far.

The first enemy was a weak rabbit, which Lucien simply grabbed and snapped the neck of. The next enemy was an average sized dog, and it tried to bite at Lucien, but his previous experience of fighting monsters made dodging it easy. Lucien kicked the dog in its side, and then snapped the dog's neck as well.

The next enemy was quite a bit more dangerous, as it was a wolf. To defeat this enemy, Lucien wrapped his fist in pure mana energy and released a powerful hook that connected with the side of the wolf's skull and shattered it.

After this came a bear, it was much larger and heavier than Lucien, so a physical attack would not work. He gathered some pure mana in his right hand and began to condense it to form a large amount of pressure inside of the small ball.

He threw this ball of mana towards the bear, and it moved quickly through the air, and when it made contact with the bear, all of the pressure was released at once, and a gaping hole was formed in the front of the bear. It dropped flat onto its face without any chance to fight back.

After the bear was the first monster to appear, it was a hobgoblin, although physically weaker than a bear, it was faster and smarter. It immediately attempted to run at Lucien, but he was able to defend with a bullet of pure mana which was fired at the hobgoblin's head. It managed to put its arm in the way, which left it with only one arm left, but it was still alive. To finish it off, Lucien created a thin, sharp wire of mana that was in the way of the enemy's legs that cut the feet off of it. When it fell forward, Lucien created another wire that cut the head of the hobgoblin off.

The next enemy was more difficult, as it was an orc. Orcs were monsters that would show up in physical type, medium danger dungeons, and they were relatively strong. The same tactic of the mana wire wouldn't work on an enemy as strong as an Orc, so Lucien had to think of a different tactic. He knew that the enemy would attack using its fists, and that it did not have particularly high intelligence. Rather than going on the offensive, Lucien decided to defend himself, and he created a thick, almost see-through shield. This wasn't a normal shield though, as it had large spikes on the front. The Orc began to try and attack Lucien, but its attacks did not go through, as they bounced off of the shield, not without dealing damage to themselves on the spikes though. After around ten punches, both of the Orc's hands were unusable. It was smart enough to realise this fact, but not smart enough to realise what effects its next action would have, as it attempted to headbutt the shield. This created a spike shaped hole in the Orc's head, and it slumped down onto the ground.

The next enemy was one that anyone who somehow managed to make it this far struggled with, a Wraith. A Wraith was a magical being that was immune to physical attacks, but this wouldn't be an issue for Lucien. He shot three magic bullets at the enemy, and three holes were produced, before the Wraith disappeared.

So far, Lucien had made it very far, much further than he previously had, as he had been killed partway through his fight with the bear in his past life. He didn't know what the furthest anyone had ever gotten was, but he wanted to be the one to have that record.

The next enemy that spawned was a Golem, it was made of rocks and moved very slowly. In his past life, Lucien had fought a lot of Golems, and he knew the best tactic to defeat them, sucking the mana from them. Lucien made the first move, he ran behind the Golem, and climbed up its back. He planted his hands on either side of the Golem's head, and began to absorb the mana that was flowing inside of it. After a while, the rocks that the Golem was made out of crumbled to the floor as it had completely been drained of mana.

The next enemy spawned in, but before he could even try and attack it, he was absolutely destroyed. A large blast of fire was sent towards him, and his Tutorial run was over. The monster that had killed him was a Dragon, a monster that he hadn't been able to defeat in his previous life, let alone without any magic skills or a Class.

He was teleported back to his room, and a screen appeared once again.

*Hunter Tutorial has finished. Rank Evaluation: AAA. Class will be AAA Rank. Usage of Mana before owning a Class has been recognised, Class will be upgraded to S Rank.
