27: THE FEELING AND THE FACT
Even though it was eleven o'clock at night, Andien's eyes had not yet closed.
The sound of the phone notification prompted her to rise from her slumber.
[Ace]
I've just returned from the hospital. I'm already missing you. Sleep tight, baby.
[Me]
I haven't slept. I miss you as well, Ace.
Soon after, Andien's phone rang, signaling a video call from the other end.
"Hi, baby," Andien said warmly to Dirga.
"How come you haven't slept yet?"
"I was about to fall asleep."
"How's your leg doing? Is it getting worse?"
"The same as last night. It is still painful. Perhaps because I was forced to walk in the hospital."
"I told you to use a wheelchair. You're tough to advise!"
"I thought everything would be fine. I walked on tiptoe because my heel was injured. But the discomfort isn't going away. Should it be less?"
