"Eh?" Madam Yeva's surprise was evident on her face.
"Del, haven't you been refusing to be adopted all this time? Why are you asking for it now?"
Madam Yeva actually had several plans to make Del willing to be adopted. But if those plans failed, then she had another plan to sell Del to the government. With the intelligence that Del had shown, it was certain that the central government would be interested in having him.
Del smiled, knowing Madam Yeva's plan from the beginning. He knew that even though he was Madam Yeva's favorite child, it wouldn't mean anything if he couldn't be sold. Besides, too many Flower Garden Orphanage employees had been disturbed by his presence due to some "cleaning" he had done before.
"Madam Yeva, I didn't refuse to be adopted, but I just wasn't ready. Now I feel mature enough and want to see the world outside the Flower Garden Orphanage." Del smiled innocently while his eyes showed yearning.
