In the end, knowing Scarlette pretty well, Evan didn't have much choice but could only accept the money with reluctance.

"Okay! Okay! I get it! Thank you and I'll share this with anyone who had helped to fix that wagon of yours. Have a safe journey, both of you!"

After everything has been settled then, Ryan volunteered to be the coachman since he is tagging along and he wanted to be useful to Scarlette and also, to prove himself that he isn't a burden.

With that case, both of them prepared themselves to depart from the Capital city.

After the woman told him the details of the route that they would need to take, Ryan speaks; "Ahm… L-lady Overland…"

"Drop the 'Lady' thing, Ryan. Just Scarlette would do."

She interjects Ryan's words with a slight annoyance because of the way Ryan addressed her, and the woman wasn't fond of this kind of treatment just because she is a renowned adventurer doesn't mean that she needs to be addressed like some sort of a noble lady.

'Plus, I don't want to be in the presence within those spoiled pampered women who knows nothing about the outside world and would only do nothing but to sit pretty and to be some sort of political item to be used.'

Scarlette thought as her expression darkened under her veil just thinking about those kinds of people that she had encountered before, and the crimson-haired woman loathes those kinds of people that she choose to stay far away from them and never interacted with them.

Even though Scarlette received invitations coming from those said spoiled pampered noble ladies who wanted to be acquainted with her, but she never bothered to acknowledged them and she knew that those women just wanted to use her for their status within the noble society.

'I don't like to playhouses with them, and I have more important matters that needs to do than to be with them. Tsk!'

She thought as she looked at Ryan and she noticed how the man's cheeks reddened in embarrassment because of her interjection.

'Now that I thought about it…'

Scarlette's expression darkened under her veil while observing this man who she choose as her traveling companion for the first time in her life.

Everyone who knew Scarlette wasn't fond of taking someone with her whenever she's on her job missions as she prefer to be left alone.

However, for the first time, Scarlette took in someone else with her and that someone is none other than this person who introduced himself as Ryan Wayne…

'I never expected to meet this man in this place, especially to this empire. How come he is here in the first place?'

Scarlette thought as she looked at Ryan, the one who's driving the wagon, and the crimson-haired woman had a deep thought regarding about this man.

However, the crimson-haired woman shook off her head as she set aside those thoughts for now.

They were on the road when they left early in the morning, and it would take some time for them to reach their destination.

Since Crown city, the Capital city and Central Region of Silveria Empire, and Mirken city are much far away from each other, it would take approximately a day and a half for them to reach the first city to stopped by.

More than ten hours since they left the Crown city and the sun was already down, both of them decided to stop over for tonight as going on the dark road would be dangerous.

"A-ahhh…. A-are you sure that we need to stop over in this place? Don't you think it's too dangerous for us to be sleeping in the wild?"

Ryan questioned Scarlette for that, and the crimson-haired woman just shrugged off her shoulder and speak.

"Nope. Got used to it."

Ryan just nodded as if he understood and didn't question the crimson-haired woman anymore as he settled down the wagon at the nearby forest to take shelter for the night.

They don't have much with them since most of their supplies are within their own dimensional pouch that they carried with them and also, before they left the Capital city, Ryan shared his supplies with Scarlette and the crimson-haired woman just accepted it without questioning the man.

After he settled down the wagon on the side, Ryan jumped over and stretched his body because they have been on the road for hours and his muscles seems to be cramped that it feels like it twisted or something.

Scarlette jumped out of the wagon as well and she looked around the forest as the wind came across them as her hood fell down because of the wind.

Her crimson long hair had been swaying around through the wind and that made Ryan stop his tracks as he watched over her.

'Wow! She looks ethereal even though she had a veil that conceals half of her face and if anyone would see this, they might think that she is truly a Goddess that descend from the night sky.'

Ryan thought for that moment and then, shook off his head to snap from those thoughts as he turned around and unloaded some of the supplies they had from his dimensional pouch.

After everything is settled, Ryan took his sword and looked over at the crimson-haired woman who is leaning at the wagon with arms crossed around her.

"Ahm… Lady…. I mean, Scarlette, I'll get some woods near the forest. Just stay there and let me do the work."

After that, Ryan began to track his way to the forest, not far long enough and the crimson-haired woman just leaned on the wagon, waiting for Ryan to pick some woods that can be used for tonight.

The night sky shone brightly as the moon shines at her place and Scarlette looked up at the sky as she felt nostalgia as she remembered a certain precious memory from a distant past.
