Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My days at school after the Lockhart incident and his arrest were the best I've had this school year.
I didn't have Quidditch team practice anymore, as this season's cup was already over. I had a DADA teacher who really knew what he was doing and really taught us something. And I no longer had to worry about the danger of an ancient and deadly snake killing or petrifying someone at school.
In short, the rest of my days were very peaceful and quiet.
And talking about the Quidditch team, Hillton named Roger as the team's new captain, as he would be graduating this year.
The team gladly accepted Roger's appointment as captain, as he was already acting like one even before he was named.
But it was fun to see Roger's surprise reaction and how happy he was at the news that next school year he would be our captain... And no matter how much he denies it, I'm sure I saw a few tears coming out of his eyes.
But quidditch aside, the end-of-year exams were coming up, and many students were stressed and nervous, and a certain trio of friends decided they wanted to cheer everyone up in the castle.
To bring a smile to everyone's face and to get a few laughs out of these stressed students, the Three Musketeers decided to do several shows and pranks around the school.
We put on a big fireworks show at night, making all the students stay up late looking at the show through the castle windows.
The teachers didn't even try to get the students to go back to bed, as they were just as amazed as the students were as they looked up at the brightly lit starry sky, with creatures made of fireworks racing across the sky.
We also played a few pranks that were a bit embarrassing and even humiliating on some bullies, and incredibly most were seventh graders, and I could only assume that they were looking to have some fun this last year of theirs at school, and that tormenting other students was part of that fun.
But unfortunately for them, tormenting other people was also part of the fun for me and the twins.
But we couldn't just prank the students obviously, which is why we also played pranks on the teachers and school staff.
I had entered the Charms' classroom and Professor Flitwick's office, and with a simple Engorgement Charm I had increased the size of all the furniture and items in the place, and as Flitwick is naturally small, things became immense for him.
It was fun to see how he struggled to see over his desk, and in order not to spoil the fun he didn't even try to cancel the size increase spells, having just as much fun as the students.
I think he was happy to see that the other students were also suffering because of the size of their materials and the classroom tables.
We also played a prank on Professor McGonagall. We waited for her to be busy and walked into her office, stuffing it with lots of cat food, catnip, scratching posts, and even some balls of yarn. And I'm sure she knows it was us, since she spent a week staring at us.
And I still had to find out how the twins got so much Catnip...

-DADA Classroom – Final Exams Day-
"Hello Headmaster... Professor... Err... I really don't know how I should address you right now" I commented with an amused and wry smile on my face.
"Oh, address me however you see fit, Mr. Night" the Headmaster told me with a small smile.
"Well then I guess I'll just keep calling you Headmaster" I said, and then I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "And sir, didn't I already tell you that you could call me Ethan? It's a little weird when someone calls me Mr. Night
"I must have forgotten... I'm already old, and my memory isn't as good as it used to be" the Headmaster said with amusement, and I huffed, "Well today is a busy day and we don't have much time. Let's start with your DADA exam" he continued, waving his hand and summoning a training dummy that was in the corner of the room.
'Now you're just showing off' I thought amused.
I then rolled my eyes good-naturedly when I saw the Headmaster looking at me expecting some reaction from me to his display of wandless magic.
The Headmaster seeing that I didn't react much to his display simply shrugged his shoulders in disappointment, as if to say 'I tried'.
"So Ethan, I know you're pretty good at Charms and Transfiguration, and in my classes I've noticed that you're just as good as, if not better at DADA" he told me, and I smiled at that compliment as my chest swelled with pride, " The question now is... How good are you at using the spells I taught you in a practical way on a true target?"
After saying that, Headmaster Dumbledore stepped aside, and waved his hand towards the mannequin holding a fake wand, and he didn't have to say anything else as I already understood what he wanted me to do.
Seeing that I was looking at the dummy in concentration, the Headmaster snapped his fingers, and with that the dummy began to move, starting my test.
Faster than the dummy could react, my wand came out of my holster and it came to my hand, and I quickly cast a series of spells.
"[Petrificus Totalus]! [Vermillious Tria]!" I exclaimed, waving my wand.
To complete and finalize the exam I used 3 spells that were part of the most basic known combo that was used a lot in duels, and that were also in the DADA curriculum that the Director taught us in these final weeks.
I started with a simple [Expelliarmus] to disarm the dummy, followed by a [Petrificus Totalus] to immobilize him and finishing with a [Vermillious Tria] which was a great offensive spell.
The speed of my reaction was so fast that the dummy didn't even have time to raise its wand arm fully before it was disarmed and petrified, and with the [Vermillious Tria] I completed the combo finishing the dummy, flipping it away with a small scorched hole in its chest.
The Headmaster who saw this nodded in satisfaction, but I could feel he was surprised and a little in awe.
"Amazing Ethan, a sequence of three perfectly executed spells, and I couldn't help but notice that your Disarming Charm was done non-verbally," he told me, waving his wand, lifting the dummy and mending it.
"Well... This is a very simple and basic spell, and I know that I will probably use it a lot in future DADA classes and maybe even at other times in the future, so I made sure to learn how to cast it non-verbally" I said scratching the back of my neck.
"Hmm, you're in your second year and you already know how to cast a non-verbal spell, that's an amazing feat Ethan. I think Professor McGonagall was right to praise your talents and your magical ability" he continued, looking at me with his eyes twinkling.
"Since when I found out I had certain 'special abilities' I've been training them, so I think it's become quite easy for me to use magic" I shrugged, "Especially when it comes to non-verbal spells, since at that time I didn't even know that what I had was magic, let alone that I needed to speak some Latin incantation to cast a spell"
"That makes sense... Usually what we learn in childhood stays ingrained in us for a long time, and it's not unheard of for some wizards and witches to become better in some areas of magic thanks to their experiences with magic as a child" o Headmaster told me, scratching his long beard, "I was one of those cases," he said.
When he finished his sentence I looked at him questioningly.
"You know Ethan, I came from a magical family, and my mother was a very talented witch when it came to Transfiguration, and I spent a good part of my childhood admiring this branch of magic" he answered my unspoken question, "The Sometimes I even sneaked my parents' wands to try to transfigure my favorite toy into a real owl... I really wanted a pet" he laughed.
"Probably my sister would try to do the same if I let her take my wand" I huffed, and that made the Headmaster laugh harder.
"Well, I don't know your sister, but I think I'd get along with her" the Headmaster said with an amused smile, and I smiled at him too, "Well, enough talk, I don't want to occupy yours. time since you still have some other exams to do"
"Yes, I still have the Transfiguration and Herbology exams... But having this conversation with you was fun," I said, smiling at the Headmaster as I put my wand away, "But before I leave, just out of curiosity.. . What will my grade be?"
"Oh, you'll have to wait until the day the notes are posted on the noticeboard in the Entrance Hall to find out" the Headmaster replied with an amused glint in his eyes, "But don't worry, I'm sure you did well" he said.
"At least I tried" I shrugged with a wry smile, "But well I'll be off then, if I'm late for Professor McGonagall's exam she might transfigure me into a pocket watch" I said amusedly, and the Headmaster looked at me with amusement.
"Of that I don't doubt," he said.
I then turned to leave, going to the door and opening it. But just as I was about to leave the Headmaster called me.
"Oh, and Ethan, in case you want to have another conversation with me, my office doors will always be open," he told me with a smile, and I turned to him nodding my head with a slightly surprised look.
After that I left the room, closing the door leaving behind a pensive Dumbledore.
'Hmm, maybe I'll stop by his office sometime next school year' I thought, walking to my next exam classroom, ''And maybe I'll even get to talk to the Sorting Hat to see if I can get the Sword of Gryffindor out of it."
End.
