"You know, you're going to need someone to watch your back..." Kyle said, as he noticed Hayden losing interest in the conversation. "Especially now that you have shown interest in the throne. Rick and his goons will be all over you in no time and will be willing to do anything to get you out of the way."

"So... what's in this for you?" Hayden asked, trying to cut through all the facades and get to why his half brother was taking his side. "If you were so desperate for an alliance, why didn't you meet your big brother?"

"We can save that story for another day," Kyle replied with a sigh. "Tyler has no interest in the throne, and he clearly doesn't want to take part in the contest. There's no point trying to pair up with that wimp."
