Chapter 22- Serrina

“Maybe if I do what Dormer wants, he’ll let me see Logan and Azriel one last time.” That was the statement ringing in Serrina’s mind these days. She needed a reason to go on, to live on. And although saving her loved ones by being the king’s slave was enough of a reason, she still needed more to endure the king’s torturous touch. That statement, the thought of talking to them one last time before she let go of her life completely, was perhaps the only thing that kept her sane.

In a time like this, when she was left alone in the king’s quarters to wait for him, she always sat down on the floor. holding her head down and her eyes closed, she hugged herself with both arms. He’d be here any moment now, he’d walk in with his new confidence and a crown on top of his head, one she’d seen many times on the head of a different man.
