Dom asks "Do you know Hunter Cook?"

I say "I know a Hunter but I don't know his last name."

Jess says "Their is only one Hunter around here."

I nod, Chase says "And the Fisher's are the weird family that goes to our school. The one that has their jeeps and stay in their little family circle."

I say "Yeah, The loner one sits next to me."

Tia says "Oh Knox, he is super hot."

I look at her with furrowed eyebrows and a surprised look.

Jess says "She ain't wrong he may be weird and quiet but he's hot."

The boys look at the girls like they're crazy.

I laugh and say "Whatever your faces say I agree with."

The boys laugh and the girls seem confused.

I finish my milkshake and say "It's getting late."

Dom says "The night has just started."

Jess says "Don't be boring."

I say "I have homework, my house isn't to far. I should be able to walk."

Chase asks "You sure?"

I nod and say "Yeah, it's fine really."

Tia says "Be careful girl, the sheriff has been getting weird mysterious deaths around here."

I say "I've got it, I'll be fine."

They all say "Bye."

I wave and get off my stool. Walking over and opening the diner door.

The fresh air hits my nose. I take a deep breath then start walking. I put my older headphones in then start my music.

I have a whole playlist that I absolutely adore. Many of the songs are very outdated but they're amazing and I love them.

The air is fresh, crisp, and moist. The lights slowly start to fade, the fog lifting, and the gravel on the side of the road crunches as I step.

A loud snap of a branch catches my attention. I grab my earbud and pull it out of my ear. Letting the wired earbud fall onto my chest.

I stop in my tracks and look into the woods. The same euphoric scent fills the air, I gasp.

I follow the scent into the woods. The earth crunches under my converse.

I pause my music as I start to get closer. I can tell from the fact the scent is getting so much stronger. I love it, I can't get enough of it.

I see an animal laying on the forest floor. It's about 10 yards in front of me. I approach slowly.

*crunch*

Shit. I stepped on a branch.

The animal shifts then sniffs the air. Getting up quickly.

Oh my god! It's ginormous. It towers over me.

The animal turns to face me. Its a wolf! A big fucking wolf. Like double my height and I'm on the taller side for a girl.

It's glowing eyes catches my attention. Like earlier, embers of fire. The animal steps closer and lets a low rumble escape from its chest.

Suddenly the situation sinks and I sprint in the direction I think the house is in. The wolf lets me run until I reach about 30 yards away.

I scream and pump my legs and arms even faster.

I'm gonna die it's official.

Sweat runs down the back of my neck. My hair blowing wildly. My hands pushing against trees so I don't fall as I jump over tree trunks and the wooded forest.

I run into my families backyard and see my family.

They look at me and I scream "HELP."

They all start sprinting over and Bo reaches first. I stop, hunch over trying to catch my breath. My hands on my knees and mouth wide open collecting air.

He asks "What's wrong?"

The boys and my other uncle reach now.

I say out of breath "An animal chased me."

They all furrow their eyebrows, looking unimpressed.

I turn around and point. My hand dropping as I realize the wolf isn't anywhere to be seen and the scents gone.

I say trying to convince them, well more myself "I swear it was right there, it was a big like ginormous animal. With glowing eyes."

Chris asks "Did you bang your head while running?"

Nolan says with a shrug "I believe her."

I say "Thank you."

I turn around, my Uncle Bill says "Honey I think being in a new place just rattled you and you thought you saw something you didn't."

Uncle Bo says "I agree."

Jake says "I don't know about that but I know for sure you're crazy Roslyn."

I say "Just forget it, I'm gonna get some sleep."

I push through the boys and walk towards the house.

I know what I saw. It was a big wolf, ginormous.

I'm not crazy, I was following the scent. It was there. I swear, it was real I know it.

I grab the doorknob and turn it. I walk upstairs and take a shower.

Maybe their right. I was just a little disoriented and distracted. The smell probably wasn't even there.
