Unpredictable

I got to May very late at night. As I dashed into the castle gates, I saw Jyoti running towards me.

"Jyoti!" I yelled.

"Princess! We thought you'd never show up! The Queen has been so ill ever since you left." Jyoti announced and I was heartbroken. I got to Mom's window side and jumped in hastily.

"MOM!" She saw me and smiled weakly.

"I thought you would leave me to die." She said. I knelt before her and suddenly, Dad stormed in angrily.

"King Damien..." I rose up.

"ROSE! What are you wearing? Why did you go to Racalyn? Do you want to rule May with a Prince from Racalyn?" He frowned.

"I didn't go to Racalyn for Ethan, King Damien. I wanted to know the truth."

"WHAT TRUTH! Just tell us what the truth is all about. The truth that made you leave Mom here, sick!" Alyssa also came in yelling. I swallowed all the snapping I had for them.

"Nothing. I'll just go change."I left the room and walked to mine. Some maids were there sleeping comfortably. I wouldn't blame them, they thought I was never coming back. As they noticed my presence, they flinched and ran out of the room. Other maids came in.

"Princess Rose..." They noticed my mood and went silent.

"Prepare my bed. I'm tired." They prepared a bath for me first. I rushed into the bathroom, dived deep into the bath, to erase my pains there.

Everything that has happened with Ethan, was just a waste of time.

I felt so bad that I almost fell in love with him and his mother's kind gestures.

I swam all around the bath like it was a pool, washing away everything that happened at Racalyn. All i wanted to know now was about the bolt, and how i got it on my lap.

The sun rays pierced into my eyes. I woke up to see a maid cleaning up the room.

"Good morning Princess Rose." Before she could say anything, i uttered:

"Get me my breakfast, please." Some maids rushed in with chicken nuggets, sauce, turkey and a glass of juice. Suddenly, Alyssa rushed in and I was startled.

"Good morning sis!"

"Good morning.." I answered her.

"Guess what? I enrolled myself in the royal school, and we had an exam like last week, so here are the results!" Alyssa threw the results on me.

"Alright, let me check it out." I patiently opened up the results.

"An E! I wanna barf on this result!" I was shocked. Alyssa gasped.

"Alyssa. Don't waste your time anymore. Go to a sage school. Learn magic or something." I advised her.

"Rose? Are you making sense right now?" She nearly cried.

"Yeah."

"Do you even think a magic school is real? Where are we ever gonna find that?" She was shocked.

"You can ask Mom. She'll tell you about it." I shrugged.

"Rose. I need to study!"

"Alyssa, i don't think a secondary education is needed after everything we studied when we were little." I shared my thought.

"IT IS, ALYSSA! Its needed! I've heard my friends doing it!"

"HAHA! What friends? I've never heard or seen your friends." I laughed.

"How can you? When you're so busy at Racalyn wandering around like a spellbound person" She was angry.

"Alright. I'm sorry. You can introduce them to me very soon." I smiled.

"Yeah!"

"Good morning my angels. What are you girls discussing that didn't warrant you to come downstairs for breakfast?" Queen Jennie entered.

"Good morning Mom." We chorused.

"We're discussing my education!" Alyssa told her and I scoffed. Mom scoffed too.

"My foot. Education with an E."

"But Mom, its my first time! I'll try harder!" Alyssa pleaded.

"Oh really." Queen Jennie sat on my bed and smirked.

"Mom! Rose says there's a magic school I can attend! She asked me to give up my own school!" Alyssa told her.

"Wow, funny."

"I believe there's nothing like that in May."

"She can school in the forests." I mocked.

"Funny but there's a magic school right in the bushes."

"ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?!" Alyssa frowned.

"Yeah, true. Its an enchanted place. If you don't have strong magic, you can't go there." Mom explained.

"But I'm not experienced!"

"Close up this matter for now and come downstairs. We need to eat breakfast. Common, Rose." I wondered why Mum just snapped out of the matter like that. Alyssa ran out of the room for breakfast.

"Privacy, please." The maids left the room.

"Mum." I held her hand.

"Why did you back out of the discussion?" I asked her confidently.

"I'm hungry and breakfast is the first important meal of the day. I don't like my meal getting cold."

"Oh wow, Mum." She was wondering what I meant.

"Mom. For 21years, you've lied to me and played with my feelings. You didn't tell me anything about your experience with Racalyn's people. The Queen, then, was Eun, and she was your friend. Why didn't you tell me about it? How about the bolt on my lap? I've never seen it." I was convinced she was gonna tell me the truth, but I was wrong.

"WHAT'S UP WITH YOU, ROSE? RACALYN! RACALYN! RACALYN! WHAT'S YOUR ATTACHMENT? WHY DON'T YOU MENTION OTHER KINGDOMS? WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING SO MANY THINGS ABOUT MAY AND RACALYN? WHO'S EUN? I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANY THUNDERBOLT!" She was so angry. You know me well, i snapped back.

"YOU HAVE AN ATTACHMENT! EUN IS YOUR FRIEND! DO YOU KNOW SAPPHIRA?" Her eyes widened at the mention of Sapphira's name, and a few seconds later, she blinked.

"I don't know who Sapphira is. Its the first time I'm hearing that name." I knew she was lying.

"YOU KNOW THEM ALL!" King Damien barged into the room and threw a resounding slap across my face. I fumed in anger.

"Are you stupid? How can you yell at your own mother like that? She was so worried about you when you went to Racalyn, and now you're back giving her trouble? Get this straight, you're no more a kid, and she's not getting younger as well. So, give her befitting peace." He was also boiling. I rolled my eyes.

"Let her be. Just tell her, I don't have anything to explain about Racalyn." She left my room with her husband.

"DON'T YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE HYPNOTIZING BOLT?" I followed them downstairs. As i got to the dining table, I was shocked to see Mom asking a maid to throw my cake in the trash.

"What are you doing?" I asked her annoyed.

"You celebrated your birthday at Racalyn. We wanted to throw a party for you here, but, I cancelled it all." She said eating her chicken nuggets.

"Alright..." I swallowed and sat on the dining table. Alyssa was still the picky eater we all used to know.

"DON'T YOU KNOW THESE CHICKEN MAKES ME PUKE? I NEED CHEESY PASTA!" She yelled at one of the maids, who ran to get her order.
