Linus pulled out his phone, scrolling through his contacts until he found his mom's number. He felt a small tug of excitement as he hit the call button, knowing his parents had watched at least part of his game and were probably still around somewhere. It felt good knowing they were there, even if he'd only gotten a brief taste of the field so far.

After a couple of rings, his mom's familiar voice came through, warm and instantly reassuring. "Hi, Linus!" Marie greeted him warmly. "How's it going?"

Linus smiled. "Hey, Mom," he replied, trying to sound casual. "Just checking where you guys are. Thought I'd meet up with you before the next game if you're still around."

"Of course!" Marie replied, sounding pleased. "We're by the big oak near the entrance. We'll be right here waiting."
