Arden was worried. He, the 14th Emperor of the Harchen Empire and the Emperor of Light who has ruled the Empire for years was very worried.
Agnus, his younger brother visited his office without prior notice.
It was even more suspicious that he came out as his normal self and wasn't hiding behind the identity of Lord Reinstrom.
"Big brother, I have a problem." Agnus suddenly told him.
This little ancestor has never once confided in him so Arden was feeling a bit pressured. Who did he kill? What kind of trouble did he get himself into?
Is this more paperwork for him?
Arden was already thinking of all the possibilities.
"I found a rabbit recently. "
Oh, a rabbit? Arden was very sure that it wasn't just a rabbit. Considering Agnus' personality, it was probably a monster or hybrid that looks like a rabbit.
This guy has been going out a lot recently...it was probably what he found.
How did Arden know? Well, he has his ways of keeping tabs on this unruly brother after the last time he disappeared.
"Big brother, this rabbit that I found is really interesting. I really like this rabbit's hair, its silvery white and their eyes are a reddish pink, like pretty rubies. This rabbit is also very soft and delicate when you look at it."
Arden felt suspicious. When this guy says he likes something, he often gets himself in a lot of trouble...
More trouble means more paperwork for Arden.
Arden was feeling troubled.
More importantly, this rabbit monster seems weird. Soft and delicate? Those are words that aren't often used to describe a monster...
He imagined monsters as ugly creatures with distorted faces.
"I also like their voice...It sounds very pleasant in the ears..."
Hey, hey. Since when did rabbits talk? Did his brother encountered an intelligent monster? Arden was a bit surprised.
"..They spoke very politely towards me but this rabbit ended up burning the red ribbon I gave, saying that it's ugly."
Huh? Arden's eyes widened. Why would he use the word 'polite'? In the first place, why would a monster speak politely towards a human?
And this rabbit monster also has its own preference?
Arden became a intrigued immediately. He was also quite interested why Agnus would give a ribbon to a monster. This little brother of Arden was far from being a charitable person. How special is this rabbit monster to get Agnus to do this?
"Did you kill it?" Arden asked out of curiosity.
Agnus shook his head.
He didn't kill it..? Arden was surprised yet again!
"I tried to kill it before but the rabbit ended up surviving. You see, this rabbit is very talented in magic but for some reason, it's hiding its potential. "
Arden squinted his eyes. His little brother sounds a bit frustrated..?
This guy whose always been arrogant and unruly was feeling troubled?
Hohoho.. Interesting. Arden wants to know more about this rabbit monster. It was strong enough to survive his brother. It must be even stronger than a dragon!
"Although it looks weak and really small, it's surprisingly strong."
"How small exactly..?" Arden interrupted.
"Very small." Agnus gestured with his hand.
Arden blankly stared. A rabbit monster that's only half the size of his brother? A midget like that was strong?
"What exactly is the problem in this situation?" Arden impatiently asked.
"I want this rabbit. I tried to give it a collar but it keeps rejecting me. The rabbit insulted me and called me a 'punk' and a 'suspicious person'. It also labeled me as a 'degenerate' because of my nightly visits to it. What should I do to make this rabbit accept me?"
'In the first place, no one would accept you other than me, you poor child.'
Arden was trying to imagine what this furry monster looks like. Since it was intelligent enough to converse but stupid enough to insult his troublemaker of a brother.. it was probably very ugly.
But it was still described as soft and delicate so maybe it was very good looking? Or cute?
Ugh.. there was no way his brother would want something just because it was a little good looking. More importantly, his brother's aesthetics were far different from an average person.
Agnus was the type of person who find a graveyard the most beautiful place in the world so Arden couldn't help but imagine how scary this rabbit monster is. How hideous it must be!
Arden leaned on his chair.
"What made you want this rabbit to accept you? That isn't how you usually handle things."
It was true. Agnus has never really cared for other people's opinions. He even cleverly hid himself and forced Arden to succeed the damn throne even though it should be Agnus' responsibility.
In the first place, their father favored Agnus and was planning on appointing him as the crown prince.
Ah, who knew that Agnus was so against the idea that he even ran away and disappeared, leaving all the responsibilities on Arden.
This brat was never sensible so why was he troubled about a rabbit monster's opinion?
Agnus closed his eyes, remembering a fair face with rosy cheeks, reddish pink eyes, silver white hair like starlight and small pinkish lips moving in a soft manner.
The girl that reminded him of a rabbit but was actually a viscious wolf in disguise had rejected him countless of times and wasn't afraid to meet his eyes.
Ah, the rabbit girl who isn't scared of him was driving him away. What was wrong with his gifts? Although they were gaudy and expensive, they were still rare and hard to obtain for most people.
The rabbit girl was even brave enough to say such crude words towards him. He has never been scolded by a ten year old kid before.
What a strange child.
Why did she not cry?
Why did she speak so well like an adult?
Why did she not act like a pampered count's daughter?
Why is a genius pretending to be mediocre?
And how dare she reject him?
He was very great and he is the Archduke! Was it his face?
Oh wait, he was wearing a mask. Then is it his voice? He has a youthful voice that would deepen overtime. He was still 15 afterall.
This rabbit girl was really weird. She did not act like normal prey.
She was very different from his other victims.
Ah, and she could stand eating and having tea while he was in the room.
No ten year old kid was this stupid.
Maybe it was because she's stupid that she could be like that?
But her responses were definitely not of a ten year old. Her patience and temperament were like that of a much older person.
Strange.. should he visit other people's children and compare if they would act the same?
He would try it..
Ugh. They weren't like his rabbit. Those other kids were annoying, like insects and infantile worms moving around. They were loud, stupid and definitely not as soft and composed as his rabbit.
He found this rabbit first so it should be his!
Although why does this rabbit keep rejecting his gifts? This was equivalent to rejecting him!
She actually dares to say that he wasn't qualified as her master?
This rabbit is also very stupid!
