Chapter 14 - One Way of His Fun

In fact, Delaney and Logy were happy that Drake needed their service. Samoa was already a terrible criminal gang, and they charge money to people for their safety. The amount was not small either.

They had to do this so the village and other towns could still be alive.

With Drake money, they didn't need to take so much from the people. They could even build more crucial places like clinic or drugstore and hire more Sora.

As the moonlight came, Drake and the others decided to move from the pub. When other people tried to get back safely to their home before the silent time of the night, Samoa was the only one who could roam around the village without trouble.

Not gonna lie, some of them even tried to bother the random wanderer that got caught in the middle of the night in the village. You didn't come here and wish there were no criminals around.

Drake tried to stand, it's time to go back. But before he took the step ahead, a loud scream was heard from outside.

With his limping foot, he went out to check with the others.

A lousy kid cried begging to someone. By the look of him, he might be a slave for a commoner. Slave for the noble would be in better looked than this kid. He was on the floor with dirty clothes, grabbing one of his master's feet.

As the kid cried louder, people around the pub started to gather. It was known for Samoa to never do any related kind of child trafficking. In fact, their leader clearly stated not to mess with children. As the criminal gang, having mindset like that made Drake put his respect to them.

Drake walked closer to the man. "What's this?" Actually this wasn't his problem. But the child was just so pitiful to be ignored.

Looking from head to toe, the man in front didn't look like someone from the village. His attire was neat and the patterns were good enough to notice him as someone who had money.

"Well, do not worry. This child was just making a fuss about food." The man said that to Drake

When you are a noble or people with power and money, having a child as a slave was common. There was also a fact that abusive behavior was not evitable between them. This kind of show wasn't anything new.

As the kid cried, he begged his master to save his little brother. "Please, my brother was hungry. Please give us today's food, master."

That man then kicked the kid so he fell on his butt. "Do you think the food is free? Your brother had to work first."

As Drake suddenly checked the load carriage, he found a different kid sitting, hiding between the goods. The kid was so small with a dirty thin blanket over his body. As the kid grabbed the blanket, a red torn skin was shown on his tiny palm. And his expression was ugly, holding the pain on his stomach. Drake touched the kid's forehead and realized that his fever wasn't light.

Of course, as the owner of the kid, the man would not be bothered to call a Sora to help them heal. The payment was not cheap.

Seeing all of this only made his mood worse. Drake looked at the disgusting man again, "I just found something interesting."

The man and his guards were confused with Drake. What is the interesting thing the boy could find inside that load carriage. They were sure not to bring any expensive goods with them.

"Ehm.. " The kid's owner pointed out to Drake how unpleasant he was. "You can't check around other people's belongings without permission."

As the people around Drake heard that, some of them laughed. Even Ash couldn't hide his expression of how funny that was. A random outsider said that in front of Samoa. It was undebatable they asked for the fight.

Drake let his sword out. Forget about his wounded knee, getting his mood better was important.

Seeing Drake with a sword, the guards hired by that man also prepared their weapon. Marven as the Soamoa leader, didn't want Drake to make a problem within his territory, as the men probably already paid for their stay tonight. "Drake!"

But Drake wouldn't hear him. He kept aiming his sword toward that group of people. "I haven't told you what I just found."

As he started to swing the sword aimlessly, Drake told them one final blow. "I just find how my mood has gotten sour and there will be alot of payment to turn it back. After all, I need some fun."

"You can't harm us. I paid for tonight's stay!" The man said. He couldn't believe Drake got angry because of the slave. "Is this because of that slave.." Before he could finish his words, the sharp tip of Drake's sword was already touching his neck.

"Do you think I care about money?" Drake's gaze was glimmering under the night and the glimpse of anger was shown upon it. As a matter of money, everyone understood how rich that boy was.

Ash then said to that group of men, "Let's just say you're unlucky enough to stay safe for the night."

How impudent! That man nervously gave a signal to his guards.

The guards then ran forward towards Drake with their weapon. But who would win over him?

Delaney, who was worried about Drake's injured knee, somehow amazed with Drake mana for the second time that day. Because as soon as Drake boosted his mana, he could easily run, knocking the guards without any problem.

"Oh.. do i just witness that?" Lara asked. As a Sora, she couldn't believe Drake self healing was that quick even without water as a mediator. She was flabbergasted by Drake.

"I told you not to underestimate him," Marven said

"Who is his identity, boss?" She was surely curious with Drake.

But with that question, Marven and the others had nothing to say. The secret of Drake as a fugitive was surely not enough to identify who Drake really was.

Within seconds, Drake had already beat up those guards. He was standing arrogantly in the middle without any scratch on his body.

For normal people, they'd never possibly follow the movement of a person as fast as that.

Drake then looked back to the owner of the kid, who was right now sitting on the ground pissing himself.

"Oh fuck, i'm not gonna clean that." The pub worker complained. He then left the place, going back inside. People started to leave the area. They didn't want to interfere with anything like that. Do not mention Marven was there.

Finishing what Drake had done, he swung his sword one last time to the cowardly man. It slashed from his face to his body, tearing the clothes.

That man screamed and it was horrified. He touched one of his injured eyes. Drake really made this person lose one of his sight.

When Drake was about to leave, he threw a sack of money to the man before him. "Thank you for the fun!"

He then went ahead to the street. Delaney wanted to follow him, but Logy held her back. Somehow he felt Drake needed the time alone.

Ash said to the owner of the kids. "That money was more than enough to cover one night stay in that village. But it would be the best for hiring the sora. You don't want to get that infected."

Just by the look, the man was in pain. "Pl.. please help me.."

Ash looked around to find Lara. He just thought of a way to get back Drake's money from that man.

But Lara was already with the kids. When the older brother cried hugging the younger one, Lara checked the kid's palm and she couldn't imagine how painful the kid felt with wound like that.

She let out a long breath. "Seriously. What kind of work did your master give to the child like you?"

The kids only cried, scared of the situation. Without wasting any further, Delaney and Logy then took them inside.

Lara then looked at the bunch of stupid men who were still on the ground whimpering, "I'm not going to heal them."

Ash then scratched his head, "Master, How are you going to deal with this?"

Marven couldn't possibly let this person spread rumors of how Samoa failed to keep the wanderer safe after payment. "Take care of them. No one left behind." He said that then left.

Lora got back inside to see the kids as Ash was alone outside, working his ass off to clean up what Drake had just done. He then complained, "Drake should be the one to clean up his own mess."

The next morning, Drake was on the bed when Marven rushed inside. It's a rare sight to see him barge into Drake's room like this.

"Drake, did you hear the news?" Marven asked.

"What news?" Well, the update was sure to come so fast if it's right.

"Half of the zone west was buried to the ground."
