The city was a grand sight to Ezra, filled with buildings of all sorts and different people treading the streets.

His father drove the carriage till they got to an in not too far from the entry of the city, he quickly went in and booked two rooms, and then he took all their stuff inside while Ezra sat in the carriage.

"Okay, now we can head for the academy." Robert said as he stepped out of the inn, they continued their journey inwards, towards the center of the city.

"The city of Virdeth is filled with lots of the supernatural. Mages, warriors, even some beast men and other races some times.

Though they are normally on strict supervision. The city is ruled by one of the governors of the crown.

As they went along, Ezra paid no heed to the happenings around, he simply went over his battle in the shadow realm, there was a lot he could learn from that battle, he wanted to milk it.

"What level of strength would I need to be to defeat the Omega Hydra?" He asked himself.

The Omega Hydra served to show him that there are beings extremely powerful in this world, and if he didn't want to bow, he had to surpass all of them entirely.

"I'll have to seat on the top seat, and everything will be beneath me."

"Hey Ezra, we are here." Robert called out to Ezra, pointing towards the academy.

Ezra looked in the direction his father pointed, and he was instantly blown away by the grandiose of the academy.

The compound was extremely large, it was atleast twice the size of any major university from earth where he came from.

It was filled with massive buildings, built of white marble, silver and golden decorations.

At the center was a large castle like building that towered over the rest of the buildings.

Just before the gate was a grand dragon statue made of white marble and gold, it carried an aura of pride and excellence, like it stood above the heavens

"So this is the white dragon academy, it is way better than I had imagined." Ezra muttered to himself.

They secured their carriage at the academy public stable, were Ezra saw hundreds of horses of different breeds, but then he saw a tiger looking creature with wings sitting down there as well.

"Is that a magic beats?" Ezra asked.

His father looked at the beast that his son had pointed to, he smiled and the responded.

"It is, but not a wild one, it has been tamed and now serves a master."

"I see, so just like how we train dogs on earth, they train beasts here." Ezra muttered to himself.

"So dad, what is the taming like? Do they just train it?" He asked, just to get down the details.

"No, that is not it, to tame means to subdue it and enter a contract with it. When you enter a contract, it is bound to you via magic, and can't break it. If it dares to break the contract, it risks death." Robert explained.

'Hmm, that makes sense honestly. From what I know magical beasts are powerful and prideful, I doubt anyone would trust them without taming them.'

They left the stable and headed inside the large castle build. This was the academic build.

Everything went in smoothly, his father got talking with the young receptionist, a blonde with a petite body and a cheerful attitude, her name was Matilda.

She asked that he wait for a moment, and after some minutes of sitting in the reception, they were finally ushered into the office of admissions officer.

Ezra walked into the office, he looked around the plain white walls that didn't hold any decorations, everything was neatly placed on tbe table, and it was ensured not to he crowded.

They both sat on the wooden chairs, facing the middle aged man that was in a black suit with golden embroidery. His hair was thick and black, and his eye were like the abyss.

His nails were a bit long, but well taken care of, he had a sweet smile in his face, and a demeanor that put them at ease.

"Good morning Robert, when I heard you are the one, I had to put off some appointment to talk to you." The man said.

"Well thank you Silas, I really appreciate." Robert responded.

"Don't worry about it, we go way back, it is the least I can do. Now, why have you come back after being here a few days ago?" Silas asked.

"My son Ezra wants to enroll, and I wanted to ask if he could take the first assessment." Robert explained.

"I see, well he can take it. Luckily you got here before the window of grace was closed. If you hadn't, then it would have been a whole lot more difficult." Silas explained.

"So when can he take the test?" Roberts asked.

"Right now of course, I am the admissions officer, so I can handle his test, just follow me." Silas got up from his chair and walked out of the office, followed by Ezra and his father.

"Matilda, I will be away for some time, so out off any appointments till I am back." Silas instructed her in the reception and continued on.

They passed through the grand hallways of the building, soon they got to a large door. Silas pushed it open and walked in, followed by Ezra and his dad.

Their feet clattered against the well polished wooden floors of the room. Ezra wondered why they used wooden floors instead of the normal marble.

At the center of the room was a large crystal ball as tall as two people, it was transparent.

"This crystal is what we will be using for your assessment Ezra. The aim is to use your magic to attempt to fill the ball up.

I won't tell you how much you need to fill to be admitted, I want you to give it your all. When you are ready, place your hand on the ball and pour your magic into it."
