CHAPTER 70: THE AMETHYST KINGDOM

Gideon and Victoria were extremely hyped when Lin's training session came to an end and waited for Baal expectantly, though they didn't show it on their faces.

Lin could still feel their excitement and couldn't help but shake her head slightly.

'These two are acting like, well, their acting their ages.' She thought while facing them, her gaze not as indifferent as when they met originally.

Soon enough, Baal arrived with a torrent of wind with him and immediately greeted Lin.

"Seems like you two are excited, don't worry, this month is simply about relaxing, and I'll make sure to give you guys one hell of a tour around my kingdom." Baal said with some enthusiasm and the siblings nodded.

He then gave Lin a small wave before carrying the duo and vanishing from her sight.

Gideon and Victoria were a bit impatient but knew that they would soon reach the Kingdom, so they waited.

Luckily, they didn't have to wait too long as Baal seemed to want to show off in front of them, so he went faster than usual. And very soon, the siblings found themselves in front of a massive wall.

Both of them were in awe as the size of the wall made the defensive line in back in their home city look small as it was well over a hundred meters tall. Moreover, there was a translucent purple done that started from the tops of the walls, making them look very imposing

The wall was black like ink and had countless purple runes inscribed on its surface. On top of it were dozens of cannons and turrets that looked way more advanced than what earth had to offer.

"These walls alone can endure several attacks from a peak diamond rank mage before crumbling, and the armaments on top can turn one into a sieve in mere seconds." Baal bragged without holding back, but his words still had the intended effect on the siblings as the awe in their eyes grew.

There was a road that led to the bottom of the wall which had a large gate along with two guards, and there were several vehicles that resembled the floating cars and trucks from earth that passed through.

Each time a vehicle went through the gate, it would pass through a transparent film which Baal explained that it could detect any hazardous or dangerous material.

The three of them made their way towards the entrance and immediately they were spotted by the guards, the guards immediately bowed and payed their respects to Baal who simply waved them off before continuing on.

As the passed, the guards snuck glances at Gideon and Victoria and we're shocked when they sensed that Victoria was at the silver rank while all they knew was that Gideon was stronger than them.

'Monsters.' The both thought simultaneously when the three passed them by.

Immediately after they got through the wall that was as thick as one and a half school buses, the siblings were greeted by a mesmerizing sight.

"It's a whole city!" Victoria exclaimed as she saw the tall purple buildings littered all over the place.

There were skyscrapers mostly, which had long intertwining streets going through them. Astral powered trains that moved incredibly fast but also turned quickly but didn't cause their passengers any discomfort flew through designated areas in the air.

People from different races, though mostly different colored demons walked around minding their own business. Robots and dummies went around keeping everything clean and doing maintenance.

And as clustered as all of this sounded, everything was well spaced out and the sidewalks were wide enough for seven people to walk on without an issue.

"Welcome the the capital of the Amethyst Kingdom, Onyx city." Baal gave a brief introduction prompting the duo to look at him, only to see that his great sword and armour were gone and we're instead replaced with brown pants and a shirt, which did near nothing to hide his robust muscles, he also had a pair of sunglasses and a silver ring.

"That was fast." Gideon said, at the same time, he brought out a black jacket from his inventory and wore it over his green shirt. Victoria so simply wore a pink long sleeved shirt and a dark pink skirt with long socks, making her look like the adorable porcelain doll that she was.

"So where to?" Gideon said with a faint smile, hand in his pockets and Victoria was in front of him. Seeing this, Baal grinned.

"I know just the place."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The siblings followed Baal who seemed to be unrecognizable due to his disguise and found themselves in an an outdoor restaurant.

The place wasn't fancy, but with it being open as well as the calm atmosphere in it, there was a sort of comfortable feel when one sat down.

"You two can order whatever you guys want, it's on me." Baal said casually and handed them a holographic menu and the siblings read through it.

'Now that I think about it, there are no language barriers between us, and I can understand these words even though I have never seen them before.' Gideon wondered.

<It is because of me.> A voice Gideon hadn't heard in a while sounded in his mind. But he wasn't startled and simply replied with a thanks to the consciousness of the world.

After that, He and Victoria ordered whatever they found interesting as the menu also had pictures.

After quite a bit of ordering, the table was packed with all sorts of food and the duo stared at it with anticipation. Although they would be served food in Baal's palace, it felt a bit to fancy for them, even with their backgrounds.

Gideon picked up the claw of a huge lobster yellow lobster and carefully ripped it off, partially revealing the tender white flesh underneath, Victoria closely following.

"It smells great!" Victoria said as the tantalizing aroma filled her nose and Gideon nodded in agreement.

He the tore away the remainder of the shell and split the flesh into two pieces, putting one piece on Victoria's plate. They then picked up their forks at the same time and used them to put the food in their mouths, Baal simply watching.

The moment they put the meat in their mouths and chewed, their eyes widened with amazement.

"Thi if so guod (this is so good)!" Victoria tried to say as she chewed.

"Mhm." Gideon gave a short reply of agreement without really bothering to reprimanded Victoria on her lack of manners.

"Here, try it with the sauce." Baal said while giving each of them a small cup that had a fragrant black liquid inside.

The two of them immediately got more of the lobster meat and dipped it into the sauce before eating once more, and their reactions were even more pronounced.

"It's black chrysanthemum sauce, a plant native to our kingdom. It's really common, but very popular." Baal explained and the duo just nodded before deciding to try the dark steak looking dish.

"It's so soft." Gideon said with wonder after chewing the steak that literally just broke apart in his mouth.

"Gideon try this." Victoria said handing Gideon a slice of a blue cake. He bit into it and his eyes immediately lit up.

'Sweet but not too sweet as well as very fluffy!' He exclaimed in his mind.

"It's good right?"

"Yeah, also try this steak."

"Woah, it's so soft!"

"I know right? The food here is amazing."

Baal smiled as he watched the siblings interact with each other, truly being themselves

'Heh, it's nice to enjoy the small things in life like this.' Baal thought before digging into his own food.
