Chapter 7: Preparations

Year 40 BD 8th month

Now with the banners and family members agreeing to his plan, Aegor began his preparation for conquest/settlement of his new continent. First and foremost he needs money, building materials and a lot of labor. Also before anything he needed to name the continent north of Essos. So after a bit of thought and discussion he named it Nortos.

Now with a name to the place he was about to conquer he began his first task of finding people who would make up the civil population in the continent and also would take up the jobs like trades, farmers, fishermen, blacksmiths and other useful professions that keeps civilizations running. He knew that people in valyria would not move to a place in the middle of nowhere and do stuff so in order to that he would need to set up a port city on the south west part of the continent close to Westeros and Bravoos so that there will be trade and money flowing.

So after a long though he revised his thoughts and decided that first a foremost he need to win the support of the family slaves make sure that there loyality and devotion are directed towards him and his family and he need to gradually change them from slaves to followers.

Once he was clear on that he began using his Artifact creation skill and began to create slow golems using the bloodmist stones and Valyrian steel. And during that time he started changing the mining policies of the family. He first started to reduce amount of time the slaves worked form 13 to 8 hours and also included breaks and ensured that the were well feed and made sure to show his face around the mining area and slowly used mind manipulation to insert the idea that these changes where being done by the young there by slowly building goodwill amongst. And he also learned a new healing skill "Divine healer" a skill that can cure any illness, wound and restore lost limbs the only limitation was that the target had to be alive and breathing. And started using it on the miners which increased their opinion of him and respect.

During his days in class he learned about enchantments and their application and the tools and symbols used so after some time figured out that he could create mining suits for all the miners using enchantments to give them heat resistance. Mining slaves are the most frequently purchased since they are the ones to die like flies because of the heat,gases and fire worms. So after some time he made suits and masks for at least a thousand workers and at the same time he was also done with the golems.

His father also had heard of his actions and was shocked and was unsure why he was doing what he was doing and called him to his study. " What are you doing son, dragonlords doesn't need to offer slaves breaks and meals they are to work to the bone for use." Jaelor said to his son.

" The reason I am doing this is to increase the number of loyal followers who will gladly serve us and will not rebel. We cannot rely on the Ghiscaries way of slavery if we are to prosper in the future once we leave for the new continent we would need people who are loyal to use and work towards building our cities and town and people who will fill up our civil population." said Aegor.

" But why not get more valyrian into the continent? '' asked Jaelor. " The reason being not all valyrian willing to settle in the middle of nowhere we need to first set up a trade port which is prospering and then only can we give people a reason to settle and set shop we can encourage more people to settle than force them into it" said Aegor.

After that discussion about the mines Aegor now began his discussions about how he wants to make his move to the continent and he plans to conquer it. " So I will be setting out for the Nortos in 6 years and during that time I will need at least 8000 men from our army to help me in our conquest and also would need like to know if we are able to get construction charts for port cities, fortresses, palaces and other structures and buy them. Also we will need colonizing ships and trading ones. Once we land we make sure to get the locals to swear fealty to our house and then start construction of our port City once that is done we slowly increase the number of people settling from valyria" Said Aegor.

After laying out his plan to his father and receiving his approval he was back at the mines and introduced the new golems and suits. Thanks to the golems, the resources extracted have increased 3 times since they do not tire easily and can keep going. The golems travel to the deep part of the mines and are able to extract more resources as well as fight off any fire worms which are just giant fire breathing flightless lizards which are one of the major causes of deaths in the mines of valyria. And then bring it to the cooler regions of the mines where the mining slaves wearing the new suits collect and bring it to the top. Since the golem are made of valyrian steel and have heat resistance enchantments they are able venture into hotter areas which could actually melt valyrian steel and extract more stuff.

And due to this the number of slaves need to work the mines has decreased and purchase decreased in purchase of mining slaves. So the remain slaves were sent to work in feilds or on construction which has made then more happy. Also during his time spent with the slaves he made sure to give then give them a speech about how he would try end slavery in his family and that he make them all free men in the Nortos if they pledge there allegiance to him and his family and that he would ensure that they live prospers lives there if the follow him. After hearing this all of them willing pledged it with

During these last 4 months the family's wealth has doubled and his father was impressed and was happy to let him do as he pleased and was very happy to support his ventures. So during this time he start purchasing battle slaves and training with them on a daily basis and started to use tactics to earn there loyalty and respect. After about 8 months of training and bonding he managed to get a company of loyal soldiers who would gladly fight and die for him. Also battle slaves are not like the unsullied these guys have there family jewels so there is no issue of getting the next gen of soldiers for him.

And during the past 2 years he made sure to obtain the respect and loyalty of the other slaves working in his family's territory and building a strongest of people loyal to him. And also began to collect huge amounts of food from the family farms, raw material needed for construction and for his new port city.
