This falls drastically short of expectations, the writing was excessively verbose, artistic yet at times disruptive. However, the writing was tasteful nonetheless, the biggest issue remains elsewhere. Thrusted into a scenario, it was somewhat baffling understanding the dynamic, which once again, a minor issue. However it established quite quickly a precedent that I cared little for, spontaneity and ambiguity. The novel wasn't grounded, the escalations seemed inauthentic, and the proceedings confounding. The world, although undeniably profound, was also presented in a shallow manner, there was too large a disparity between the audience and the protagonist, though privy to machinations and the like, I couldn't sympathise, I didn't cheer, I didn't bite my nails in excitement, I didn't really care, there was no underlying structure. I didn't know what the protagonist wanted to do, I understood his overarching goal, but his objectives eluded me, in Profane Prince of Domination, there were objectives he followed, and women pursued in tandem, the story wasn't obfuscated by a plethora of undue circumstances and events. Even the explicit scenes lack the same finesse, the build up was underwhelming or non-existent, the characters lacked the same depth, this isn't a story of debauchery, it's a mess. His choices were equally idiotic and unfounded at times, at least I could only see them as such. Where Konrad whimsically roamed and plundered, this protagonist was farcical and measured as oxymoronic as it may be. I am honestly annoyed I read as much as I did, a far cry from the appeal of Profane Prince, it's insulting that these novels are even likened to one another, I am disappointed that in this novel's considerable depth, everything was conjured so poorly, perhaps this novel isn't one of salacious designs, it nonetheless similarly lacks as one of cultivation, it's an irreparable piece of garbage, truly a waste of the author's expertise. I was disheartened by the lack of chapter updates when starting this novel, but it matters not in the end.
