Revolution fails

Inside a partly destroyed wide cave, a translucent barrier of energy could be seen. It displayed the range of the hundred infusion array strategy which had suppressed Wind and allowed Jiao to easily attack him.

"Time to die, lad." All the Jiao duplicates said in unison and attacked together. Bright lights flashed as their techniques struck Wind and an explosion occurred engulfing Wind entirely.

Boom!! The explosion was strong but the hundred infusion array barely vibrated. It was very robust. At the center of the now expiring explosion and rising smoke, suddenly lightning crackled.

Crackle! Kirr! Chi chi chi!

Hundreds of lighting arcs surged around Wind as he moved extremely fast! He used his energy without restraint as he attacked the Jiao clones. Apparently, their previous attack didn't manage to destroy Wind's perfect body.

The Jiao clones defended and attacked with their chi infused scythes. Wind parried all the incoming scythes and survived the joint attack. Jiao was currently an entire team of elite Sage realm warriors while Wind was alone and heavily suppressed. Yet he displayed great potential as he survived against joint attack of all duplicates, surprising them greatly. However, Jiaos attacked relentlessly. The fight was a blur as all sorts of moves and techniques were used.

Wind had reached a level of understanding where he had merged almost all the techniques he knew. It could be said to be his natural talent, which he never utilized in previous life.

Meanwhile Jiao was focusing on simultaneous usage of multiple techniques. He too was a talented warrior. But the difference between the two was that Jiao clones'energy expenditure was more than Wind's because unlike him, Jiao had not merged his techniques together. The same flaw was carried onto the clones.

Wind was basically using just one nameless technique which incorporated the best moves of all his techniques. He even spent lesser energy. However, he couldn't fight multiple powerful opponents like Jiao for long. He needed to escape as soon as possible.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! The scythes cut through air speedily forming blurry circles with Wind at the center.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Wind switched his blade with his spear and parried all the incoming scythe attacks. A spear provided more range & was good for defense too, in comparison to a blade or sword.

Calen frowned and spent more chi to suppress Wind. Blood trickled down her nose and eyes as she was mentally and physically pressured since she was over-drafting her ability to manipulate the strategy.

Meanwhile Wind was calculating in his mind.

"I can keep this up for 5 more minutes at best." Wind thought. "Luckily Jiao is mostly using weapon-based attacks. Against wider ranged chi based explosive attacks I'd be in a more difficult situation. Most probably, these clones either need to maintain a certain amount of chi to continue existing or they are keeping me alive until the real Jiao comes over."

"Lightning strike!" Wind yelled and shot out multiple thunderbolts as he moved speedily, attacking all the duplicates.

"Clay wall!" A Jiao duplicate used an elemental technique and raised a circular wall speedily to stop the thunderbolts from reaching them.

Zzzap! Boom! All of them were struck away. The clay wall couldn't outmatch lightning strike's speed. The duplicates however landed on their feet as they survived and lunged at Wind again. But Wind had gotten his much needed extra few moments.

"Lightning crush!!" Wind yelled and stabbed the ground with his spear's butt. Lightning surged out massively and toppled the ground right away, obstructing the Jiaos.

Swoosh! Wind leapt in a certain direction. His golden spear was shimmering brightly. His eyes were cold as ice. And in his eyes, the reflection of Calen's shocked expression reflected before Wind stabbed her heart with the spear.

"Ohok!" Calen coughed out blood as she stared at her father who had just reaped her soul. Calen was shocked, indignant and angry but she was weak and had no way to survive this. Within moments, she died.

All the Jiao reached Wind at that moment and struck towards him.

"Chaos burst!" Wind shouted and immediately powerful shockwaves rippled outwards from his body, tossing away the Jiao duplicates. They were astonished at this technique Jiao had never seen before. This was Chaos technique which was exclusive to the members of Order of Chaos. Since Aerin was Wind's pet, Wind naturally had the access to this technique. However he hadn't mastered all of its aspects & moves. He didn't get much time to practice it. Chaos burst was the only move he had mastered thus far and it was mighty useful just now.

Whoom! The hundred infusion array suddenly let out a humming sound before Wind sighed in relief. After killing Calen, he had immediately tried to take the control over the strategy and succeeded in it. He had plenty strategy knowledge under his belt. Hyun Jung was also basically his pet after all. Wind had spent some time studying and practicing the strategies as well. However, his expertise lacked greatly in comparison to Hyun Jung, Aerin, Calen and Saiyu.

But Wind was able to control the hundred infusion array for a while just fine. Now all the Jiaos felt incredible pressure to the point where they were unable to move!

"Wew, that was close." Wind sighed in relief. Next, he lunged at the Jiao duplicates, fighting them with all his power. They were already suppressed heavily and were no longer Wind's match. Within a minute, Wind killed all the Jiao duplicates and then he dismantled and stowed away the strategy array. Next, he stowed away Calen's corpse before using the Earthworm technique to escape at last.

"I've found the ginseng!" Suddenly Xiao's whisper echoed in Wind's ears as she spoke from inside the ring.

"Good. Start preparing it." Wind said while sprinting at full speed under the ground. "Hyun Jung, aid Xiao in preparing the medicine for Deodomus." He instructed.

This emperor realm gingseng was the whole reason why Wind attacked the empyrean treasury instead of taking part in the revolution. He even had to send Wu Shang to keep Jiao busy in order to buy time. Alas Wu Shang had seemingly perished. Wind had been unable to contact him. And since Jiao was already in the treasury, the obvious was understandable.

Meanwhile inside the cave Misa's screams were echoing. They were less of pain and more of pleasure. Jiao was currently raping her! "Humph!" Jiao snorted before revolving his energy rapidly through his meridians as he watched Wind running away. Wind could control the array from a large distance too. His own expertise in strategies wasn't too bad.

"Array breaker." Jiao muttered and…boom!! The hundred infusion array completely shattered like glass as Jiao used his sheer powerful method against it.

"Damn it!" Wind cursed from afar. He had pulled several miles distance from Jiao but was able to observe him clearly by using 10000 li sight technique.

"To think that strategies are basically ineffective against him…" Wind was speechless. His original plan relied heavily on using strategies against Jiao but it turned out that Jiao had a unique technique that can destroy even a powerful strategy like the hundred infusion array. Jiao was simply too powerful!

"Is that all you've got?" Jiao asked as he caught up with Wind again within seconds and was tailing him.

"Air ripper!" Jiao then shouted, slashing his scythe towards Wind hundreds of times in a single second, sending out hundreds of energy slashes at Wind.

Boom!! The underground shook strongly as Wind used earthworm technique to defend himself by using the ground as a shield but it was like cardboard in front of a rapid saw. "How long do you think you can run?" Jiao asked as he blocked Wind's path. Wind changed direction but met a Jiao duplicate. He changed the direction again but he was already tightly surrounded by Jiao duplicates.

But it also led to the current awkward situation where Wind was being thrashed continuously but could not retaliate. His techniques were useless against Jiao thus Wind himself stopped using the techniques. Instead, he took the beating passively while waiting for his energy to recover.

"Array Breaker!" Suddenly Jiao used his powerful attack on Wind. It could even destroy a strategy array. A human body had little chance against it.

Although there were not many injuries on his body, the pain was still there and it was the worst pain Wind had ever felt in his life. It felt like his skin was being sewn by countless needles. It was nerve wrecking. But Wind persevered and used chaos burst to distract Jiao, hoping to get away.

"Emperor pull!!" Jiao shouted while clawing his left hand towards Wind. Wind felt a formless force gripping him and it pulled him towards Jiao.

Jiao grabbed Wind by the throat and lifted him off the ground glaring at him with a vicious smile.

"You sure have some potential." Jiao spoke. "Where did you spring out from, lad? Having the guts to rob my empyrean treasury and fighting off my multiple duplicates…you even managed to make that old Misa your ally. What is your origin?" Jiao was curious. He had met Wind for the first time. Wind wasn't wearing his white clown mask either. He had removed it the moment he sensed Jiao incoming for attack earlier. White clown had raped Delilah and taken her hostage before giving her to demon king. This much Jiao knew. If Wind had his mask on, Jiao would have spared no effort in killing Wind. Wind couldn't have survived this far.

"Well no matter…" Jiao added. "I'll torture all the information out of you later. I have to deal with the rebels first." Saying so Jiao exerted his energy to pull Wind inside his spatial ring but at this moment a huge ball of fire appeared out of nowhere and struck Jiao's back with a blast.

Booom!!! Flames leapt everywhere and smoke arose. Jiao had been sneak attacked by someone.

"Interesting…" Jiao muttered. He was unfazed by the fire. His armor was very durable and protected him. In his perception there was a tanned girl flying towards him rapidly.

This girl looked like a burning comet from afar. There were red flames erupting from her body, making a long trail of fire behind her. Her black hair flew backwards, her hazel eyes were glistening in the light of fire. She had a toned body draped in a black full body knight armor which accentuated her curves and her profoundly huge hips. This girl was none other than Alexia, princess of Blyn state.

"Fight me Jiao!" Alexia shouted and once again shot a ball of fire, even bigger than the last one. Jiao smiled and clawed towards Alexia.

"Emperor pull." He said calmly and immediately Alexia was pulled towards him. Jiao raised both Wind and Alexia in the air and snickered.

"If it isn't little princess of Blyn…" Jiao spoke. He had ample information on his neighboring states.

Boom!! A fiery explosion occurred at point blank and actually pushed Jiao backwards. His grip loosened and Alexia took this chance to get out of his grasp, grab Wind and quickly retreat.

She didn't even look at Wind while she fought Jiao briefly. This was impeccable clarity of mind. From the start Alexia didn't reveal that she wanted to save Wind. If she had revealed it, Jiao would have captured Wind in his spatial ring and used him as a hostage to pressure Alexia.

Alexia on the other hand was extremely worried. For the sake of pretense and not giving away any weakness, she had used powerful attacks which were bound to hurt Wind as well. She was prepared to heal him quickly. But the moment she looked at Wind and scrutinized him as they retreated, Alexia was surprised. There were no injuries on Wind's body. Only his clothes were burnt off. He was pretty much naked now.

"Long time no see." Wind said smilingly. Alexia slightly blushed and even sighed in relief. She was currently holding Wind by an arm and flying at breakneck speed.

"I've been looking for you." Alexia said smiling back but immediately her smile faded. She sensed that Jiao was close at her heels.

"Get in my ring. I'll get us out of here!" Alexia said to Wind urgently.

"No. We can't outrun Jiao." Wind said morbidly. "Even now he's just playing with you."

"…" Alexia didn't doubt Wind's words or feel offended. Jiao was at Emperor realm while Alexia was merely at level 4 Master realm. She was even weaker than Wind. An entire mile radius around her was engulfed in raging fire which spun in circular motion, forming an orb of fire. Everything inside this orb turned to ash immediately. This was just like hell's fire.

"…" Jiao looked at this and frowned. "What a joke." He said before landing on the ground and released massive amount of energy which seeped into the soil.

"Stone pillar barrage." Jiao said and the ground under his feet morphed rapidly, creating numerous thick pillars of stone which protruded upwards and collided into the hellfire orb. Stone was resilient to fire. Jiao used this move to suppress the hellfire. The thick pillars moved into the orb and disrupted the energy flow. The orb deformed and the flames dissipated soon.

Boom! With an explosion, Alexia broke through the stone pillars and flew away again. Jiao chased immediately, no longer playing around and caught up with Alexia within a second.

Suddenly bright lights flashed and Jiao felt a formless force which sucked him in.

"Sneaky brats!" Jiao growled before he was pulled inside the treasure strategy. Immediately he was attacked by Hyun Jung who was prepared inside it. She used numerous arrays to suppress Jiao while controlling the beasts to attack him. This was her turf; she had the advantage.

"Humph! This is getting annoying." Jiao snarled before his body flared with energy. He was done playing games.

Outside the strategy, Wind sighed as he was taken away by Alexia. Previously inside the hellfire orb, Wind had moved all the treasures and people from the treasure strategy to his other spatial ring. Jiao, Deodomus and all the children were relocated. This needed focus and hellfire had gotten him a few moments to do so. Then he placed the treasure strategy outside and Hyun Jung used its full power to forcefully pull Jiao inside it. Wind sighed, thinking it was a terrible loss, having to give up that strategy along with the formation spirit. But he shook his head and smiled. He was alive and rather safe now with a beautiful girl beside him. It was enough.

"Thank you for saving me." Wind said happily to Alexia as they flew away.

Within minutes, the revolutionary army changed its stance and started to retreat.

The empyrean army was confused at once. Some of them were wary and kept retreating while they still could. Some of them chased after the revolutionary army instead, taking advantage of this chance. Thus, battles continuing at several places.

In revolutionary army too there was some confusion. Only the higher ups knew the severity of the situation. Since Jiao couldn't be defeated, their lives were now in great danger. They were retreating towards their base camp now. They were rebels and had secret pathways and places to hide and lay low; but their allies couldn't do the same. Blyn state, Kol kingdom, Ember state, Stones city army…they couldn't hide away. They had their respective areas to govern. They couldn't leave the citizens behind and hide by themselves. Once Ji Empire strikes back under the lead of Jiao…they dared not imagine about the outcome. They all felt a huge pressure!

Meanwhile Wind was having a headache trying to figure out other ways of salvaging the situation.

"Blyn state may be safe against Ji Empire due to its castle-like infrastructure but if Jiao attacks personally…" Wind muttered. "Kol Kingdom can go to hell along with Carny but Stones city cannot be allowed to perish. Even Lan's mother Lin is there. This is not good. What do I do?"

"Wait, since when I started giving a fuck about other people?" Wind thought. "Sigh. I should only focus on myself and getting my revenge on Jiao. I need…higher cultivation."

Dual cultivation is what came to Wind's mind first. That was the fastest method of cultivation for him.
