I had gone to a cocktail party with my bestfriend and her friends, which ended at seven in the evening. I drank plenty unlike me. I was obviously wasted, but still aware of my surroundings. Jasmine held me so tight, on our way back home tonight. I kept saying silly things on our way, and she was being supportive by laughing at silly jokes.
Almost to our neighborhood, we bumped into someone and he felt infuriated by the choking alcohol smell he could perceive. He tried walking away but decided to hang back. He stood infront of I and my friend, while Jasmine shoved him off but he refused to leave.
"What do you think you're doing?". Jasmine asked him.
"Haven't the both of you heard etiquette before?". He asked us.
"That voice sounds familiar Jasmine. Is that the wild beast Sebastian?". I asked aloud drunkenly.
The young man before us was surprised to hear that name. He approached me, cupping my face up. I couldn't see the person before me clearly but I could hear familiar voices. He switched on the flashlight of his cellphone, flashing the light on my face. My pupils twilted, while I struggled to see. He was surprised to see me after a long while.
"Bianca Mowers!!!." He exclaimed aloud.
"Who are you huh? Get that light off me." I replied him wastedly.
Jasmine was surprised that the young man knew my name. She dragged the cell phone from his hand, flashing the light on his face. She was surprised that it was Sebastian infront of us. She gasped out aloud, handing back the cell phone to him. She dragged me to her back, facing Sebastian. Sebastian looked at her face, wondering who she was, as he had never seen her before.
"Is this where she has been hiding since? She now drinks like a fool too?." Sebastian asked disappointedly.
"Keep shut Mr. You traced her down here, after so many years. She's no longer yours." She warned him.
"Jasmine let's go. My eyes are itching already."I cried aloud.
Jasmine pig backed me on her back, leaving with me. Sebastian stood still, still staring at us. After he could no longer see us again, he continued with his night strolling. He wasn't expecting to see me tonight and he was surprised I drink now. He knew me as someone, that will never taste an alcoholic drink no matter the situation. I had been through a lot in the past, and during those hard times,I gave up my principle and embraced alcohol as my only zone of comfort.
I dozed off on Jasmine's back, not realizing when we got home already. Jasmine carried me into my bedroom, laying me down on the bed. She sat next to where I laid in a deep heavy sleep, watching my messed up face. She was seriously worried, after we met Sebastian down the streets. She felt pity towards me, and wondered how I would react, after I find out we came across Sebastian my biggest night mare tonight.
★★The Next Day...
I woke up the next morning, feeling very tired and hungry. Last night's hangover was slowly clearing off my eyes. I noticed that Jasmine slept next to me. I didn't remember anything that had happened after the cocktail party, so I had to wait for Jasmine to wake up from her sleep first.
I left the bedroom, heading over to the kitchen room to prepare a cup of brewed tea for myself. I met Zoey at the kitchen but I ignored her. I was still mad at her, because of last time. She couldn't deal with my cold shoulders towards her anymore. She walked up next to me in the kitchen, while I drifted away.
"Mum, I'm sorry about last time." Zoey cried out.
"I can't take this silent treatment of yours anymore." She added.
"Zoey can you just let me be?." I pleaded with her.
Zoey stubbornly embraced me from behind, while I struggled with removing her hands off my waist. She wrapped them round my waist tightly, and I couldn't remove her tiny hands so easily. I was her mum at the end, and I couldn't keep up with being mad at her for long. I dragged her out of my back, to my front. She stood in front of me, looking at my face meekly.
I shook my head vigorously, pushing her into my arms. Zoey let the piled up tears to flow freely down her cheeks. She have been longing for this hug, and she was very happy that she got it.
She promised me that she won't stay out late at night with anyone, not even with her so called new friend.
"Mum, are you still mad at me?." She worriedly asked me.
"Is there anything else to be mad at you for?." I replied her with a question.
"Not at all mum." Zoey replied, shaking her head.
Few minutes later, Zoey left me all alone in the kitchen. Jasmine later joined me in the kitchen room, after noticing I was already up from my slumber and I wasn't anywhere in my bed room. Jasmine was surprised I was doing things myself, because I was badly drunk last night. Jasmine walked up to me, tapping me on my shoulder lightly.
I turned my head backwards, gasping out in fear. I got frightened a bit, thinking it was a ghost.
Jasmine laughed at me, while I heaved out a sigh of relief.
"You scared me Jasmine." I said to her.
"A ghost or something?". She asked.
"Glad you're up on your feet now." She added.
"Yeah. Any problem?." I asked her.
Jasmine nodded her head at me, and no doubt, I knew from there was really a problem from the look of her moody face. It seemed like she wanted to say something. I sipped my cup of brewed tea, stealing glances at her from a corner. Jasmine rested against a counter at the kitchen, staring at the air. She was mumbling to herself, and when she couldn't mumble anymore, she finally decided to say something.
"It's about Sebastian. We bumped into him last night." Jasmine revealed.
Se..ba... who?". I asked shockingly, not knowing when the cup slipped off my hand to the ground.
"Yeah, you heard me right. Sebastian is here in Manchester." Jasmine said to me, confirming her words.
My heart was beating countlessly, and I couldn't stop overthinking. He was going to find out about our daughter and take her away from me. Everything wasn't making sense to me at all. Jasmine tried calming me down, but I couldn't stop panicking. I let out tears that flowed down my cheeks like streams of water. My greatest fear has befallen me. I definitely knew that he would tell his family about him, seeing me right under his nose.
"I shouldn't have drank a lot last night." I regretted.
"Or maybe, I should run away with my child.", I suggested.
"You're obviously overthinking. I'll find a way." Jasmine assured me.
I left the kitchen immediately, still reminiscing on what Jasmine told me earlier. I didn't realize when I bumped into Zoey. She pulled me together, wondering why I was lost in thoughts.
"Mum, you almost tripped." She said to me.
"Oh! I'm sorry." I apologized to her, getting back to my senses.
"No problem. Just take care of yourself and be more careful." She advised me, leaving.
I nodded my head coldly. A part of me wasn't even there. Sebastian is in our city now, and he would obviously get his hands on my child. That was my greatest fear at the moment.
