"AN OFFER"

I finally decided to take a day off like Jasmine and Zoey wanted. It felt really good to be honest. I was at home with Zoey, because her school was on two days holiday.

Jasmine went for work, while my mum was in my bedroom, preparing evidences for the upcoming reappearance in court. She has been working off her ass these days, because this case really meant so much to her and she wanted to see our family win against the Kurtz.

While getting busy with my favorite movie series at the living room with Zoey, we heard a knock at the front door. Zoey went to the door, to check out the person at the door.

Getting there, she gently unlocked the door and opened it slightly. Jasmine and Mr George walker were standing infront of her at the door.

She called for my attention, and I joined them at the door.

"Mr George, you came?". I asked him with a surprise on my face.

"Yeah I did." He replied me with a smile.

Jasmine welcomed him in, while he followed her behind. I exchanged glances with Zoey, following them behind to the living room. I was seriously thinking so many things in my head, wondering if I have been married off by Jasmine in my absence.

"Bianca, don't look too startled." Jasmine said to me.

"Okay, but what's going on here?". I asked her anxiously.

"George has something for you." She said to me.

I took in a deep breath, staring at George. He nodded his head, smiling at me. He brought out a request later from his suit case, handing it over to me. Zoey tried taking a peep, wanting to see its content.

"Mum, what could that be?". She whisphered into my ear.

"I seriously do not have an idea either." I whisphered back to her, opening the letter.

I glanced through it and found out it was an offer of resignation and at the same time, an offer of employment too. He wanted me to resign from my job and work in his company as his personal assistant, and at the same time his assistant manager.

The offer was a watering one, and irresistible. I didn't want to resign from my job either, because I have been working there for over sixteen years now. It has been my saving grace. It was really going to be a very hard decision for me.

"What do you think?". George asked me.

"It's a good one, but I am confused." I said to him.

"Mum please don't accept it." Zoey pleaded with me.

Jasmine had to join into the conversation immediately, or else Zoey will fail her plans. This was the only way for her to bring me closer to George Walker. I was confused at this point and had nothing to say.

"Give me time to think." I pleaded with George.

"There's nothing to think about. Anyone in your shoes, wouldn't even think twice to accept this offer." Jasmine said to me.

,"Jasmine please allow her to think about it." George shunned her.

"Thank you George. I'll be inside for now." I said to them, standing up.

Zoey followed me behind, as we left the living room heading into Jasmine's bedroom. Zoey wanted to speak to me, and she could clearly see that it was a trap from Jasmine, so that I will get closer to her friend George.

"Mum, promise me that you won't accept that offer." Zoey said to me.

"But it's a nice offer."I responded back at her."

"You just can't associate yourself with that man mum." Zoey said to me worriedly.

I shook my head, already choked by the entire situation. I found a chair at a corner, sitting my butt down. I bent my head, grabbing it with my hands.

While we were still inside Jasmine's bedroom, she joined us. I raised up my head, giving her a sterning stare.

"I really hope you don't make a bad decision at the end." Jasmine said to me.

"Aunt stop pressuring her please." Zoey pleaded.

Few minutes later, we joined George at the living room. He was hoping that everything would go fine, as soon as we return back to the living room. The noise earlier, attracted mother to the living room. She wanted to find out the reason for the chaos.

"What's going on?". She asked, while I exchanged glances with Jasmine.

"He offered mum a job at his company and also wants her to resign from the bank she's working in." Zoey said to her, before I could say a word.

Mother was surprised to hear that, and all she did was look at George. That sounded very nice in her ears, and I was expecting to hear her suggestion about it too. The offer was really tempting to be honest, but I can't resign from my job at the bank.

"Why don't you comply?". Mum asked me surprisedly.

"Granny even you?". Zoey asked her in shock.

"Aunt you're the only one that have agreed with me on this." Jasmine said to her.

I heaved out a sigh of relief, staring at mother. She sat down next to George, and I just couldn't stop wondering what she was up to next. She does strange things sometimes.

"If she has nothing to say, then take my word as a yes." Mum said to him.

"How can you say that to him huh?". I asked her.

"It will be best for her, if I give her time to think about the offer." George replied mum with a warm smile.

His nice attitude, was already bribing mum to see him in the same light as Jasmine. She have already started falling for his personality. Now that she's involved, she might end up forcing me to get married to him, like she did to me in the past with Sebastian. Things has changed, and I wouldn't let her opinion about my marital life overweigh mine.

George requested to leave, and we granted him that. Jasmine saw him off, and returned back home in a jiffy. Zoey couldn't stand and watch all these happen infront of her.

She left in the middle of the chaos, to Sebastian's apartment.

**Sebastian's place...

Sebastian was surprised to see her in a devastated mood, and was curious to ask her what was eating up her mood. It's been a while he had seen her in such a grieved mood. Liam too was surprised about her dullness.

Zoey leaned her head against the pillow on the long couch at the lounge, while Sebastian and Liam were seated next to her. They were looking at her, waiting for her to speak up.

"Are you not going to say anything?". Sebastian asked her.

"That man Mr George, is a weapon fashioned against us." Zoey said, while Sebastian and Liam looked at each other puzzled by her words.

"What do you mean?". Liam asked her.

Zoey finally decided to sit up, and say her mind totally. She needed something to be done fast, or she would watch all her hardworks go down the drain.

"He's offering mum a job at his company. That also means, that she would be resigning from her current job." Zoey opened up.

"Are you serious?". Liam asked her aloud.

"He's trying to sway his wealth on her face." Sebastian demeaned George.

"Exactly. Uncle you're right." Zoey supported.

Sebastian kept mute for a while, pondering on Zoey's words. Liam could clearly see how her revelation, affected him so much. Liam doesn't like the George in question, and he felt he was moving really fast.

"You've been lost in thoughts for a while now." Liam called back Sebastian from his dreamland.

"She can't accept his offer." Sebastian said unconsciously.

"Did you just say that?". Zoey asked him, very surprised by his words.

Sebastian got back himself, realizing that he said something that he actually shouldn't have uttered. He made a very fast move, to take back his words.

"No. I meant that she can accept it if she wants. She's not a kid." Sebastian denied his previous words.

"Nah she can't. I don't like Mr George at all." Zoey added.

"This won't be easy for Bianca too. I really feel bad for her now." Liam said out of concern.

Sebastian remained mute, while Zoey kept shaking all her body as they moved in a rigid movement. She was very worried and also afraid. Liam tried talking her off it, but it seemed like her mind was already prisoned in the entire situation.
