Pay Back

Even as my world spins I call all the small particles of metal in the surrounding ground fusing it together in the shape of a small crude knife. I'm not a blacksmith nor have I ever seen a knife of any kind being made but all I need is something sharp. If I can only use my power this way.. then I will kill the witch with my own two hands.

Just as the plant was beginning to bloom I take the crude knife and jump towards the witch catching her by surprise. I catch her neck and her warm blood covers me bringing me a deep sense of satisfaction. Her hands fly to her throat in attempt to stop the bleeding but I follower her knocking her to the ground and stabbing her in her cold black heart.

Her dark eyes burn red as I feel her power rising. I stumble backwards taking my crude blade with me but find myself knocked to the ground by Ryder's power. With a frown I watch my weapon disintegrate. Well that hurt.. I struggle to breathe as sit up slowly holding my chest. Ryder's eyes are ice cold as he stands in front of me blocking me from the witch.

"Hurry and heal yourself. I told you to be careful and if you try to hurt her again I'll kill you myself.." Ryder says to the witch with a growl. I cough and find myself coughing up blood. My world continues to spin but I refuse to stop. I stand on shaky legs but freeze in surprise when I feel my power without the restrictions. I smirk as I quickly shift over to Fig scooping him up and into my arms holding him close.

"Quickly!" Ryder says as he shifts over to me. I shift as far as I can.. which isn't far. I had used up so much power on the damn plant I didn't have much left. Ryder shifts in behind me reaching for me. This felt oddly familiar but this time I felt like I had the devil himself on my heels.

I twist away from his reaching hand and nearly fall but I never once lose my grip on the small unconscious Fig. My vision is becoming darker but I do my best to fight it and shift again making sure to keep it random. I hear Ryder yell in anger as he says "Enough Syn! Come here at once!" I scoff and keep going. He's insane to think I'd actually stop and walk back to him!

I feel something in me snap as I shift again. The little bit of strength I have left slips away as I stumble coughing up a large amount of blood. My legs fail to keep going and I close my eyes knowing that this was the end.. at least they can't kill the humans.. I think with a twisted smile. I fall into a hard chest as strong arms wrap around me and I hope for a quick death.
