The Most Cowardly Golden Beast

Lin Chao was not a Sensory Evolved but he was able to analyze the team's capability from referring to the general information like the frequency of their heartbeat, the tempo of their pulses and more solely from his thirteen times sense of hearing.

There were three Evolveds including the woman, while the other two despite wearing guns on their waists were ordinary people. The team was basically a rare elite team out of the survivors with a perfect combination!

They were all young people; no one was a vulnerable member of society. Moreover, there was an ocular Evolved of Enigma among the three Evolveds.

If it were an independent survival, a Sensory Evolved would not be able to do much. However, the impact of a Sensory Evolved team-member was much greater than other Evolveds!

Lin Chao could judge based on the lady's attitude that she must have utilized her power in acquiring some of his basic information like bones, muscles, heartbeat and more to analyze his physique. That was the reason she so humbly recruited him.

Zhao Bingbing?

He had never heard of this name, she could be a famous person in the future, but he rarely paid attention to the historical figures. If it were not for Chu Shanhe's statues in the many base cities, he probably would never have known this great hero of mankind. He only cared whether he could stay alive and how long he could keep living.

"You believe in partners?" Lin Chao looked back at her.

Zhao Bingbing was taken aback. She pondered with a lowered head before speaking, "I don't know but I hope that my partners can gain my trust."

"You hope?" Lin Chao smiled faintly.

Zhao Bingbing looked straight at him and said, "If you're willing to become my partner one day, I will probably trust you."

"Not interested for now." Lin Chao looked ahead into the darkness.

It was as if Zhao Bingbing had anticipated his answer for she was indifferent to it, merely replying softly, "Regardless, I hope you survive on!"

This was a blessing of one survivor to another.

Lin Chao nodded and said, "You too."

The group had come to the exit of the sewer by now. Without any sense of longing, Lin Chao climbed up and left.

The rest of Zhao Bingbing's team came forward to her. The brawny man breathed a sigh of relief and patted his chest. "Pretty Bing, you've put yourself in too much danger just now. What if that person has ill intentions and held you captive to threaten us? All of us will be in danger. It's lucky that he did not commit any evil."

Zhao Bingbing gazed at the direction Lin Chao had left in and answered calmly, "If he wanted to kill us, we won't be able to defend ourselves even if we were ready."

"It's undeniable that his combat force is high and we aren't his opponents one to one, however, we're the majority. You can shoot him down directly with our cover. There's nothing to be afraid of," said the red jacket young man with a frown.

With a gentle sigh, Zhao Bingbing said, "I analyzed his physique with the Godhead's Eyes just now but I couldn't even see through him. His physique is likely much higher than the lion monsters, possibly ten times and above! Plus I don't know what his power is. If it were something potent, coupled with that physique, he could kill us all in a blink of eyes. Forget shooting him, we won't even capture his shadow!"

"Ten times and above?"

The eyes of the red jacket young man and the brawny man bulged, almost doubting their ears. What is ten times enhancement like? He could travel a hundred meters in one or two seconds. – What if it was only ten meters?

"He's too strong! That's why he's so arrogant!"

"Could he have evolved a second time?"

The four men were baffled. It was fortunate that the man just now was not blinded by greed, or else their firearms would have been stripped.

Lin Chao arrived at the outside of the zoo and was prepared to leave straight away. Out of the blue, a golden shadow sprung out from the back of a battered car.

"The Golden Hound?" Lin Chao looked weirded when he discerned the owner of the shadow. He did not expect it to wait for him hiding outside the zoo when it could have fled when it had the chance.

Ow!

The Golden Hound ran over and sat down in front of Lin Chao. Lifting its paw with a dangling tongue, it pointed at its neck looking a little fawning and pitiful.

Lin Chao could not help chuckling from exasperation. The damned dog, it was extremely cowardly. Both were Golden-Blooded mutated beasts, it was heaven and earth's difference between that magnificent Golden Lion and this toadying canine with a wagging tail!

Lin Chao removed the mini bomb on the dog's neck speechlessly and patted its head before they walked home.

In the rooftop's room, Fan Xiangyu stroked Lin Shiyu's cheek wearing a taunting curve on her lips. "What supple skin. Say, are you really biological siblings with that odd man?"

Lin Shiyu sat by the balcony as she watched the wandering zombies on the road, "Why do you ask?"

Licking the corner of her lips, Fan Xiangyu said, "Isn't he scared of me eating you when he left you here alone? What if I turn you into a zombie and control your corpse to threaten him? Will he smash your corpse?"

"Is this the kind of poor taste you have?" Lin Shiyu glimpsed at her.

Fan Xiangyu's palm slid to Lin Shiyu's neck as she spoke tenderly, "Little girl, don't speak too harshly. If I'm moody, my hand slips easily and goes 'crack'."

"I think, it's better for you to let go of me." Lin Shiyu prodded her glasses.

"Tsch, tsch, tsch. What an infuriating tone." Fan Xiangyu commented sympathetically while shaking her head as her hand slowly exerted more strength.

Lin Shiyu looked up at her. After three seconds of staring at each other, Lin Shiyu moved suddenly; she pulled her neck back, out of Fan Xiangyu's grip as her fair arms shot out to pin the latter's wrist down, locking her arm and at the same time kicking the back of her knees.

Bam! Fan Xiangyu stumbled and ended up in a half kneel on the floor, locked by Lin Shiyu.

"I forgot to tell you that I'm a seventh Dan in Taekwondo," said Lin Shiyu nudging her glasses, "Lil Chao said to protect me by asking you to keep me company but he's actually just making me watch over you so you don't run away. Even if you have control over three zombies, I can still shoot you down as they sink their teeth into me!"

The corners of Fan Xiangyu's mouth twitched. She spoke bitterly, "Let go. I realize my mistake. Don't tell him about this."

"Be good. Lil Chao isn't a bad person. He won't mistreat you as long as you don't do things behind his back." Lin Shiyu released her grip and patted down her dress before taking a seat back on the chair.

Fan Xiangyu stood up rubbing her knee, defeat filling within her.

"Lil Chao!"

Lin Shiyu stood up abruptly and looked towards the corner of the street in delight.

Hearing the two words, a shudder ran through Fan Xiangyu. She looked at Lin Shiyu's back that was so close to her. Perhaps she could succeed if she ambushed her…

Hesitating for a moment, she ultimately gave up.
