As Bai Xiang made his way home he had a pep in his step and a smile on his face, this was the best day ever, and he would soon start the endless journey towards immortality!

With that in mind, he was not completely oblivious to his surroundings and could answer one of his questions after seeing how empty the pill store was, where did people go for health care? In most novels, he had read that people essentially just ate medical pills to be healed, and doctors were extremely rare and often appeared.

On the other hand, as he was walking home he noticed multiple doctor's offices and infirmaries, going off what Miss Amanda said this world is essentially too low level to produce the resources necessary to concoct or afford to buy alchemical pills. Thankfully from what he had heard while walking by it seemed like medical professionals still had resources that made use of mystical plants to help heal people at an unnatural rate.

This is something very important since cultivators often get hurt and it would slow down progress immensely if broken bones or deep cuts took weeks or months to heal.

With that knowledge and assurance in the back of his mind, Bai Xiang soon arrived back at the average home he first woke up in and searched for some food, after he had not eaten anything the entire day.

It did not take him long to find some food and he decided on a simple bowl of rice and egg, since he was in a hurry to start repairing his core he wanted a quick meal and after a short meal he returned to his bed and fished the bottle Miss Amanda gave him out of his robe pocket.

Inside there was a single green and red pill that gave off a profound feeling, seeing it Bai Xiang immediately changed out of his heavy robe and took out the clothes he woke up in, and put them on since they were much more comfortable.

Once he was fully ready he sat cross-legged on the bed and took the pill out of the bottle, it felt like a cold stone bean as it rested in his hand, he could feel the skill and craftsmanship that went into the creation of the pill in front of him. It finally dawned on him that alchemical pills are not as simple as just cooking materials together to make something like one does while baking, it is more similar to a great work of art that reflects the emotions of its creator.

After that, he finally opened his mouth and swallowed the pill in a single go.

The first feeling after swallowing the pill was a wonder, and the second was an immense sense of expectation. Slowly his excitement turned to worry as after 5 minutes nothing happened, then 10 minutes passed and there were no reactions from his body. He slowly got more and more anxious as time passed, what if the pill could not help him?

As he sat there thinking up dozens of depressing thoughts time continued to pass and slowly the time since consumption reached half an hour.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a strange feeling erupted from his core, the only way Bai Xiang could describe it would be that someone was using a loom to thread together an object inside of him. Unlike the pain, he was expecting the entire process to be simply extremely uncomfortable to the point where simple pain might have been preferable.

Finally, after another half an hour the feeling that whatever was being sewn inside him was complete washed over his body, instantly he felt like something that had been missing for a long time had finally returned, just as he was about to cheer he felt another rush of energy explode from his body however this ended instantly without warning.

Confused he tried to figure out what just happened, he felt that energy was flooding his body and it for an unknown reason dissipate into nothingness before he could harness it. His body seemed to tell him that he could have gotten stronger from absorbing the energy and with it gone Bai Xiang felt like he just got teased.

Although the ending somewhat annoyed him he was overall very happy, he could instantly feel his body and mind were stronger, and the feeling that an invisible force had appeared around him emerged, this was most likely spiritual energy.

Instantly after feeling the spiritual energy around him, Bai Xiang became mesmerized, coming from the earth he had never felt anything at all similar to the sensation he was feeling currently.

As if to deny him of the peaceful and serene feeling he was immersed in he suddenly felt movement deep inside his chest, it felt significantly deeper than when the core was repaired. This feeling was similar to gears that had been stuck and began to finally move after a long period of time, he could imagine an intricate mechanical gear system slowly beginning to move as dirt and rust slowly cracked and fell away to reveal a beautiful golden mechanical structure.

After a short while, he suddenly stopped feeling it entirely and heard a voice in his head.
