After half an hour, Freddie returned and served the special menu.
It is a pasta containing shrimps, cheddar cheese, scallops, garlic, and many seafood ingredients that were cut thinly.
I moaned because it tastes so heavenly.
"I'm prepared to die this instant if heaven tastes exactly like this, Fred." I said.
Fred didn't smile despite the compliment and with a serious tone he said, "Then I hope heaven tastes like dumpster so that you wouldn't even think for a second going in there."
That made me stopped munching and I turned to Freddie. "You know that it's not what I meant, Fred. Don't be too serious about what I've just said. It's meant to be a compliment."
"I know. I'm sorry. I just want you to be okay. You're like a ball of sunshine despite the hardships you're experiencing." he said.
I smiled. Freddie's words really do warm my heart. I'm glad that I found a friend here in America who I can rely on and who can give me comfort especially when I'm feeling down.
Being away with my parents were really hard for me. But I know that they just want what's best for me. To live a long life. But how exactly am I supposed to live a long life if no doctor can detect or determine what kind of disease I possess?
Freddie and I chatted for almost an hour. I bid him farewell and drove back to the hospital.
The Arthenos Medical Hospital is like my second home here in America. It's because I spent most of my time here, mostly because of waiting for the doctors here to finally find me a cure.
I went up to the tenth floor of the hospital building again. I noticed that Jane isn't in the reception area so I just went straight to Doctor Arion's office.
I knocked and heard Doctor Arion said "Come in."
I pushed open the door, only to see a man in white coat and stethoscope on his neck. He had dark blonde hair that were messy because of constant rumpling, he had sky blue eyes that will remind you of clear skies during summer, and he had pointy nose that were really manly. But not a single dimple on his cheeks.
Yes. It all goes down to dimples.
But still, Doctor Arion is someone you can say as a total hunk.
We can easily relate with each other mainly because in this hospital he's the youngest doctor. Only twenty-five years old. He is said to be a legend in the medical field because of his talent in surgery. At the age of twenty he was awarded for identifying the illness of a senator and performed a surgery using his own techniques that made it a huge success.
He graduated in medical school at the age of twenty-three. But has already performed various surgery that lead to one award after the other. He also published a lot of medical books for other aspiring doctors as a reference.
Speaking of a man with substance.
Even if other women or other female doctors flocks to him nonstop, he didn't gave them a second glance. That's why I thought he was gay. Can you guys blame me for thinking like that? I would like to remind you with one name. Freddie. After Freddie, I have this trust issues about good looking guys and tend to ask them about their sexual preference.
I could still remember when I asked Arion if he's gay. It's as if his very intelligent brain stopped working and just froze. Then when the question completely sink in, he laughed so hard that I even thought it would never stop.
After he laughed, he just shrugged and said "No. It's just that I haven't found someone that can get my interest."
Which makes sense. Not every guy jumps into the opportunity to get anyone who wears a dress.
Back to the present, I saw him stopped typing into his laptop and said "Please sit down. I found something interesting that maybe can help find you a cure."
Hearing those words I sat immediately. This better be good.
"Let's hear it." I said.
He lets me see what's on the screen of his laptop.
"This is an article about a woman who has the same symptoms that you were experiencing. Scars and bruises that appear and disappear without a reason, feeling extremely hot even with cold weather, vomiting blood, can't have a proper sleep, and many more similarities from yours that made me want to study this case." he explained.
I nodded and asked "So does the article says something about a cure?" I paused for a while, contemplating if I really want to ask this question, but I gave it a go because curiosity gets the better of me, "And is the woman still alive?"
Doctor Arion looked at me, understanding what I meant with my last question, "There's not a specific cure stated here in the article, but it says that she went to Arizona to meet someone named Arthur Jacobos."
Then Arion gave me a hopeful smile and said, "The woman is still alive. She's currently thirty-five years old."
"When was she diagnosed of being inflected of the same disease as mine?" I asked.
Doctor Arion leans his back to the backrest of his chair and said "When she was 18 years old. Same age as you started getting these weird symptoms."
Same symptoms. Same age the symptoms first started occurring.
I began to be hopeful. There maybe a cure for me. And maybe this Arthur Jacobos has the cure.
Arion reached for my hand as he said "Get ready. I've already booked a ticket going to Arizona. We'll be leaving three days from now."
