"They say that no man is an island, but an island can be conquered by man." Grant Maximilian, a wealthy man who owned the wealthiest corporate giant in the present world had died. And as he thought it was the end, he had woken up in a small run-down mansion, waking up from a fever, surrounded by maids. He had been reborn, however his name remained the same. As the heir to the doomed-land of Hellsburg, he will now begin to create his kingdom from scratch. [ Hello there! I'll be now update this novel st least twice a week due to my other book "Daily Life Of A Third Wheeler". Check it out as well! Thank you!]
Maximilian: [——A child?]
Young Boy: [A child? I'm no child. Speak for yourself!]
Maybe I spoke too soon, if this was a magical world, then maybe there are some beings that older than they look.
But this was rather unusual, and looking at them makes me inevitably think of children.
I barely had to even see one in my past life as even going outside was a hazard for me.
But today was different, except that I am starvation.
Maximilian: [Wait. You've said something about God.]
Young Boy: [Yes! I'm here to deliver a message.]
A message, was it? Did the Gods here frequently come in contact with the mortals?
Young Boy: [This child is carrying food that is enough for all of you inside the mansion for a single day. It will be the only last favor the Gods decide to give you.]
Speaking out in a third-person perspective, he pulled out a large bag from the bushes, the child addressed himself in a rather odd manner, showing Grantt the number of fruits and dried meat jerky that was inside of it.
Maximilian: [... 'This child'?]
I tried to ask. I didn't realize it until now but the child's eyes were glowing golden, a magical-like moment that gazed back.
Young Boy: [Yes! I'm just an agent of God possessing this child's body. His family had died of natural causes, and thus he was left to live on his own.]
He placed a hand over his chest, puffing out as he continued to recap the history of the child that the Agent had possessed.
Young Boy: [You shall help this child attain his dream as another objective. He will help you attain what you truly desire.]
If this is true, then this will be the turning point of everything. Once I fix this hunger of mine, I can start working tomorrow.
Hit the books once more and manage what we are capable of. I suppose that I will not die a dog's death, not again.
Young Boy: [So, that is all, and may you be the messiah of this world!]
Putting both of his palms together, the glow in the boy's eyes vanished, slowly falling unconscious.
I caught him up but I forgot the lack of strength I had, becoming reeled back by the force of falling.
Jai: [——Master?!]
A voice called out as soon as I stumbled down with the child, it was a good thing that there was a maid that would see us both in our embarrassing states.
Maximilian: [Please, do help us up. I lack the strength to do so.]
I nervously chuckled as I struggled to lift the young boy's body with my famished arms.

Lilith: [So you are saying that this child is carrying food that will suffice for all of us until tomorrow? Did you abduct this child?]
Maximilian: [No! I will never do something like that.]
Jai: [Yes! Master will never do something like that! But maybe in this kind of time...]
Lilith, I, and Jai respectively exchanged words with each other.
We were in the bedroom where I would rest, however, the boy was lying unconscious on my bed, there was frostbite on the tip of his fingers.
Lilith: [Anyways, I will have to keep getting him warm. My magic will only last for an hour, so Jai, please do prepare hot water.]
Jai would nod and bow at me before leaving, running to do the errand that Lilith had assigned her. I told them that this boy needed saving and that I, wanted him to be saved.
How kind, you might think of me. However, it was nothing but a chore that God had bestowed on me. I was nowhere near being as kind as the previous Grantt.
Lilith quickly held the boy's hand which was plagued with frostbite, glowing in a certain orange-green like a light that seemed warm.
It was magic, and seeing it up close had put me in an amazing state, staring closely.
Lilith: [Master... I've been doing this for you since how long you were unconscious... It was only even a miracle for you to wake up.]
Lilith began to share the information of when the previous Grantt had 'died.' This will prove to be useful in the future, so I must take the opportunity to ask questions.
Maximilian: [——For how long was I out?]
Lilith: [Five days.]
Almost a week? I can't believe that this body had survived that long without eating!
Lilith: [While you were asleep, we all kept on healing you and providing some kind of mineral in your body.]
It was magic. Magic had kept me alive with the help of the maids. It seems like they were desperate to keep a useless noble alive.
That was something that I don't understand.
Lilith: [It was all enough for two days, but on the third day, your body refused to be healed and to receive those magically infused minerals.]
It sounded something like injecting saline in hospitals.
It must be something that was heavily related to tolerance or overdose. Once you have too much of it, your body will reject it.
That means one can be only healed for a certain amount of time and will need to wait for a decent amount of time to recover that capacity again.
How complex magic is. This is the knowledge that I must take in as early as possible.
Maximilian: [I see. So you are all doing such a thing to yourself every day to keep hunger from getting to you?]
If that was possible, then it will explain why they were able to move as energetically as possible as well.
They were infusing each other with minerals and apparently, their capacity for healing was much greater than mine.
This is something that I have to take note of.
How unfortunate will this boy be?
Lilith: [Yes. The master has almost no alignment to any element. That is why you have no capability for magic.]
Maximilian: [——Huh?]
What? No capability? But previously, I was able to produce water with just a simple imagination, however, it was only droplets.
It must be why they call it almost no capability. I could only produce such a small result.
I will just at least try to make it bigger this time.
I will show you, Lilith.
[——!?]
I placed my hand over to the small metallic bowl beside the bed.
Lilith observed me, yet her face quickly changed as soon as I started to exert power.
I may have no capability at all, but I will show you what a realist like me can do.
Maximilian: [If I cannot summon a large amount of water with my mana, then I shall instead turn two smaller elements into one in a large area!]
Two types of components make up water. It was hydrogen and oxygen.
Using the small mana I have, I can spread it as thin as I can and create droplets of water.
Just like a faucet... but in maximum capacity—
BOOM!
There was a sudden outburst from the middle of my palm. A concentrated barrage of water formed from a small thread into a large-sized beam.
Maximilian: [——What the...!]
The wall was drilled into, revealing the first which was wet from the bombardment of water.
Lilith: [——What was that!?]
Lilith was halted from healing the boy, quickly standing up from her seated position to protect me and the boy from the small falling debris from the ceiling.
I was amazed by the feeling of creating something from nothing.
Technically, it wasn't anything but as I defined the output of the magic, I imagined exactly how would a fire truck would blast its water.
It was extraordinary for me, but if this was something that could be basic in the world, then I am already happy.
Maximilian: [I... am still incompetent, I know.]
I was smiling despite my words, but as I looked at Lilith who had a worried face, she shook me and quickly asked.
Lilith: [——You just cast magic that was way beyond your mana level!]
Oh no. Did I go over my limit? Will it be something like mana toxification? Deprivation?
The possibilities became more and more possible, but I knew that my body didn't feel off.
Maximilian: [——Is that bad?]
I tried to ask nonchalantly but she was extremely worried as she held me.
Lilith: [Of course it is! Your mana would be debris—What?!]
She halted for some reason. She was looking at the chest part of my body. Like she was staring right through it.
Lilith: [——Your mana levels are as small as a size of a pea? Wait, it didn't even decrease!]
If that is true, then I just used magic without using them. Wait... My mana capacity is just that small?
According to the books, the average mana of an infant would be the size of their chest, but to think that mine would be only the fourth of it?
That must be why she would use 'No capability' instead of being incompetent.
I always thought that she was trying to be rude, but to think that it was the bitter truth.
Jai: [I heard a crash from the kitchen, what happened?!]
Jai arrived just at the right time. Lilith was intently holding me by the shoulders and as time goes on it gets tighter and tighter.
Lilith releases her clamps on my arms, stepping back before pointing at me.
Lilith: [Jai, check his pulse for any irregularities. He just used magic. Something way above his mana level.]
Lilith continued to heal the small boy's fingers as Jai checked my pulse from the neck, holding it with her subtle fingers.
I could feel magic on the top of her fingers as they glow green. It must be a certain kind of magic that is focused on medicine.
Jai: [There's nothing... ]
She stared at the wall that had a hole in it. The snow that covered the forest was washed away and the trees even began to freeze due to the water that it was soaked in.
Jai: [——It was Water?!]
Jai was extremely happy as she jumped and pulled my hands, asking about the element that I had previously used.
It was indeed water, it was the first element that I kept on wanting after knowing that drought had plagued this land.
It was definitely about the right element I needed.
Lilith on the other hand couldn't seem to grasp the situation better. She looked like she was confused and in disbelief.
Jai: [That's the rarest within the four main elements! It's the element most compatible with healing and controlling the weather!]
Jai was able to fill me in with the knowledge that I wasn't able to get from the books, but either way, it was obvious.
Lilith: [Jai... We were sure back then that the young master had no talent for magic.]
Jai: [Yes, but aren't you happy for him?! This is like a reawakening of some sort!]
Lilith was that one maid that doubted everything. Her personality and appearance told everything I needed to know about her.
Her black and straight hair, and her emerald eyes filled with suspicion.
Lilith: [No. For all, I know he could be an imposter.]
Had she always been this observant and suspicious? I needed to diffuse this situation before it becomes too much for me to handle.
Maximilian: [How can I be an imposter if I know that you have a mole on your waist.]
Lilith: [——?!]
I guess that will do the trick. I pulled out a random memory from before the previous Grantt had died, and somehow... most of them involve peeping girls.
Is this boy in the middle of his adolescence?
If I remember correctly, Lilith is around 19, while this body is 16.
A loud and sharp gasp followed after that thought.
I was able to see Jai hold her mouth as if it was something scandalous, but maybe it was indeed too much private information—
Lilith: [———]
Lilith's brows were together, looking at me with spite as she held her waist, but before I could even realize it, she slapped my face with a flustered red face.
[——!]
Lilith: [Forgive me, Master but that is something that they aren't supposed to know.]
She whispered, before going back to her seat, continuing to heal the boy's hand.
I couldn't process it at first after being slapped but after a few moments... I could finally remember.
The previous Grantt Maximilian and Lilith had a rather complicated master-servant relationship. I must tread carefully.
If she doubts me once again, it will be hard to deal with her. But my resolve to rise was stronger, like I've always said, I will rise to the top once again.
Maximilian: [Anyways. Jai and Lilith, I have plans. Will you consider putting aside everything and focusing on rebuilding Hellsburg?]
