2 - We are kids anyway...

"Why are you asking me? You are the big brother here." Kirito said as he thought, 'Someone might come to help us. Look, mother, what happened to your sons. Heroes, right… '

As he thought, very soon, a man wearing a dog mask came before them out of nowhere and said, "Follow me; I will take you guys to your new apartment." The Anbu said as he started walking, and they followed quickly behind him.

(This is how the two brothers get sent to live in an apartment alone even before the age of three years.)

As the new Anbu started walking, they followed behind him with their little legs while dragging the little things that they got from the orphanage with a sad face. The Anbu didn't even help them with their things.

After they reached the apartment, they saw a single-room apartment with two beds and two tables with some more furniture as well where they will be able to put their clothes and necessary things.

After looking at the apartment, they had only one thought: what are they going to eat? After all, they are hungry right now.

Naruto didn't have enough courage to ask, but Kirito is not going to get shy or afraid; after all, unlike his brother, he knows he is the son of the late Hokage but didn't say anything because of his reasons.

So he asked, "What are we going to eat?"

"Don't worry about that, kid. Here is the monthly allowance for the two of you. Spend it wisely.

Also, the clothes will be provided by the village, and when you get to the right age, the village will take care of your education, and the Hokage will take care of your fees for the academy."

The dog-masked shinobi said as he left the twins behind to take care of themselves. As he thought, 'I am sorry sensei, but it's Hokage's order; still, I will make sure they don't get in danger.' He vanished from their sight with a puff of smoke.

"What are we going to buy with this money?" Naruto said as he saw a lot of money in Kirito's hand, and his eyes started to shine, looking at the money because he has never seen this much money, but he knows its uses.

After all, he saw other kids buy the things they wanted through the kids aren't kids compared to him as they are over 3 to 4 times older than him.

"Stop being a child, brother. We need to use this money wisely." Kirito said as he moved the money away from Naruto's eyes to protect it as he knows that his brother is up to no good, and they will have to use the small amount of money they have to stay alive and not starve to death.

"But we are just kids." Naruto said with a smartass smile, which said, "Stupid, we are kids, what are you talking about?"

As Kirito heard his brother's reason, he facepalmed and looked at his brother, who has a smartass look on his face to tell him how wrong he is.

So he also put his words, "But we are free kids, remember. So we are kids but not at the same time, understand?"

Though he also said while showing his finger and acting smart, he also didn't know what he was proud of.

As he thought, 'who would give money to such little kids and leave them in an apartment alone? I hate this thinking style of shinobis.'

"We are kids anyway," Naruto said again and made Kirito suspicious as he has nothing more to say as they are really kids. So he doesn't have anything to say.

After putting everything in place, he and Naruto went outside of the house to find some shop to buy anything they could eat.

"What do you want to eat?" Kirito asked as he was walking with Naruto.

"I want milk and bread as always," Naruto said as he pointed to a shop nearby their house.

"Let's buy and get back to our home, then we will eat." Kirito said as he walked with Naruto to buy the food from the shop.

After going near the shop, they entered and looked at the middle-aged man, and Kirito asked, "Uncle, two bottles of milk and bread."

"Here kid, that will be 180 Ryo." Uncle to him he handed them the things they wanted.

"Thank you, uncle, here." Kirito gave him the money and took the things they needed.

"What are your names, kids? I have never seen you guys here before,"

"Name's Kirito Uzumaki and he's my brother Naruto Uzumaki." Kirito introduced himself and his brother with smile.

After hearing the name of the kids and looking at their faces the uncle thought 'Yellow hair, fox whiskers, and the same names. Aren't they the demon fox kids, I can't believe I sold food to them.' after that thought he became angry and rage took over him as he shouted: "Get out of my shop and never come here."
