Popping up in the city square, our entrance startled a lot of people. Fortunately Master Pakku was nearby to calm the people down, but he wasn't thrilled with the disturbance.
"Just what do you think you are doing?", he demanded, "You can't just do something like that in the middle of the city, what if someone was hurt?"
"We found an old library buried in the ice.", I responded, "I think it happens to be Kuruk's, there are a lot of old Waterbending scrolls as well as others from the other three nations. Also don't underestimate what I can and can't do, I knew no one was above."
Now very interested in what we were doing, he led us back to Chief Arnook home. Showing them the Waterbending Scrolls and others pertaining to their culture, I said the remaining scrolls would be returned to their perspective nations. Agreeing with me on that, I could see Pakku was particularly interested in one scroll.
"Find something interesting?", I asked watching him reviewing the scroll.
"Yes, this is a scroll detailing very old techniques for fast movement in the water.", he stated with a smile, "My grandfather spoke of this technique when I was a child. Back then the North Pole wasn't like it was today, many things were stored deep underwater in the ice. Food, equipment, important documents...everything was stored down there because the other nations couldn't get to it."
"Were you at war back then?", I questioned.
"Our relations with the Northern Earth Kingdoms has always been rocky. Some rulers were better than others, but there was stretch where they would attack our settlements to keep us out of the fishing grounds. To prevent the loss of valuables, we hid them far from danger.", Arnook told us, "In fact, there was once a plan to move settlements into the ice, but the fighting stopped before it came to that."
Realizing how bad the relationships between them were, I hoped that now they wouldn't quarrel anymore. They had both suffered a lot during the war so hopefully they could rebuild together. Excusing ourselves, we were going to leave but Arnook stopped me.
"I wanted to thank you for healing Yue, and giving her the ability to Waterbend.", he said shaking my hand, "I had no idea how you did it till I looked in our archives. You used Energybending, right?"
Nodding my head, I asked him not to go around telling people. If people knew, a lot of people would come around looking for handouts. Even though my job was to help maintain balance, that didn't mean I was supposed to just give people the ability to bend.
"I gave Yue the ability to Waterbend so she had something to aim for. She has lost almost all of her childhood to her illness, and needs to have dreams to aim for.", I advised.
"I understand, she is very excited to begin traveling with you. If you so desire...I give you my blessing to marry her.", he said with a smile.
Giving him a smile, I thanked him for his blessing. Excusing myself at that point, I stepped out to find Azula and Ty Lee waiting for me. Shaking her head, Azula felt bad for Yue and said she had a terrible father.
"You better not treat our children like pawns, they have to have an upbringing like Katara had.", Azula stated.
Looking at each other, Ty Lee and I were surprised that she was applauding Katara for something. Noticing our shocked looks, she told us that even though Katara and her may not see eye to eye on a lot of things...she still respected her as a person and was jealous she grew up in a household that loved and praised her.
"Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been with a family like hers.", Azula said with a solemn look.
"Hey now, don't be sad about it. We wouldn't have met if it weren't for your family.", I chuckled, "Don't worry, I will treat our children far better than your father treated Zuko and you."
Nodding her head with satisfaction, we returned to our residence to review the other scrolls we recovered. I was certain Azula was eager to try some of the Ancient Firebending techniques, and the moment we stepped inside she was already pulling out several of them. Eagerly reviewing the scrolls, the first one she was interested in was a scroll from the Sun People.
"It's too bad the Sun People are extinct.", Azula said reviewing the scroll, "They really do appear to Masters of Firebending."
'If only you knew.', I thought, "So do you grasp the fundamentals?"
"I uh...I think so?", she replied with a complicated look as she showed me the scroll, "This is written in an old dialect of our country's past...so some it makes no sense, kind of like when Iroh tries speaking to us trying to teach us life lessons."
"Haha!", I laughed agreeing with her, "Basically this technique requires you to focus your energy and release it like I do with Combustionbending."
"I see...", she stated, "We should probably practice this away from the city."
"Agreed, I can take you somewhere safer. Ty Lee, you going to come or staying here?", I asked.
"I am going to stay, some of these old scrolls talk about Chi Blocking.", Ty Lee informed me as she read them, "Also, I am done freezing for today."
Leaving it at that, I took Azula a mile from the city so she could train. Nothing was out here so there was no risk of her harming anything. Nodding my head at her, she glanced at the scroll one more time before trying to implement it. Taking a deep breath, she swung her right fist behind her before thrusting it forward. Instantly a massive explosion happened that sent her flying backwards from where she was standing. Catching her before she crashed into an ice boulder, I immediately started healing her scorched hand.
"Fuck!!", she hissed in pain, "What happened!!"
"I don't think the energy you released left your body.", I said as her hand returned to normal, "It needs to be released outwards in a compressed form."
"I tried that, but it went maybe an inch out before exploding.", she replied as she stood up again.
"Hmm, it looked more like a cannon explosion than a beam of fire.", I stated looking over the scroll myself, 'Hold on...it looks more like a plasma cutter now that I look at the images and writing.'
"Beam of fire?", she inquired, "I don't understand what you mean by beam? Aren't beams what you use in construction."
"They share the same name, but they are different.", I said breaking off a piece of ice, "See how when the sun goes through the ice the becomes focused?"
Looking at the ground, she saw the spot where the sunlight was focused too. Watching the snow melt, I watched something click in her eyes.
"This is a beam, think of the Sun as your Chi. You have to condense and focus it to a point when releasing it.", I told her.
"Let me try again.", she replied confident she understood what I was saying.
This time when she did it, there was no explosion but a super hot thin flame that cut through ice and stone like butter. Stopping it after a few moments, she fell to her knees panting heavily from exertion. Telling me that she could do it now, she stated that it took a lot out of her to maintain it. Patting her on the back, I congratulated her and told her to take a few minutes to recover.
"Practice is the only way to train yourself to figure out how much focus you need to use it. We have a few hours before we got to get back so train your heart out.", I chuckled with a smile.
Nodding her head, she redoubled her efforts to master the technique.
---Evening---
Returning home from a very fruitful training session, Azula stumbled into the house and fell on the couch. Letting out an exhausted sigh, Katara shot me a glance which I immediately shook my head at.
"She has been busy learning a Firebending technique from one of the scrolls we found.", I said, "She wore herself out trying to learn it in one day."
Accepting that answer, since I had the scroll in hand, she asked me if she was successful.
"Yes...but I can only use it in short spurts of about five seconds.", Azula yawned, "What are we doing for dinner?"
"Sealcow Steaks.", Yue said setting them on the counter.
Looking at Katara for answers, she walked over and whispered in my ear.
"Her father wants her to stay with us...", Katara stated with an annoyed look, "He is hoping something 'might' happen so he can say you are a couple."
"I am sorry...my father really wants this to happen. If you aren't comfortable with this, I can go home.", Yue said apologetically.
"It's okay.", I assured her, "I have dealt with worse parents."
Ty Lee and Azula snickered at that remembering how I treated Ozai. Offering to cook for us, I told Yue and Katara to take a seat. When it came to cooking meat, I was the only one that did it because I was very particular about how I liked it...especially when I had never had meat from a Sealcow, something probably similar to a manatee.
"You can cook?", Yue asked, "Most of the men can't do more than put meat on a stick, salt it, and put it over a fire."
"That's because most men are idiots.", I chuckled, "I will show you my cooking skills."
Making a full three course meal, the women went to bed with satisfied smiles. Once I was sure they were asleep, I was going to call it a night when Juvia called me. Slipping out of the room, I answered the phone softly so I didn't wake them up.
"Hello?", I asked.
"Juvia thinks we have a problem.", Juvia told me as an argument was going on in the background.
"Get the hell out of our house!", Sorano spat.
"Yeah, piss off bitch.", Irene hissed.
"I am here in official capacity, if Erza and Mirajane want to pass their S-Rank trial periods I have to constantly observe them!", Yennefer argued, "If I don't stay here, I can't accurately watch them."
Rubbing my forehead with a sigh, I knew that words weren't going to work with her. Yennefer was a smoking hot woman, but she was also stubborn as a mule. Geralt had problems reasoning with her because it's always her way or the highway no matter what the subject is.
"I am coming home, I will be there shortly.", I told Juvia.
"See you soon darling!", she said with a happy tone.
Tagging out with a Body Double, I returned to Magnolia to handle things.
---Home, Earthland---
Descending out of the sky, I walked up to our front door hearing the girls yelling at Yennefer to leave. Opening the Front Door, I saw Yennefer scorch the place.
"How about you calm down.", I said using Absolute Cancel to negate her spell, "Mind telling me why you think it's okay to barge into our home?"
"You live here!?", Yennefer questioned, "Why is a Wizard Saint living with a bunch of young girls?! Are you a pervert?!"
"He's actually 14.", Mirajane laughed, "We are the older ones here."
Looking at Mirajane, Yennefer watched everyone nod their heads in agreement.
"They aren't lying, now care to tell me why you are breaking into our home?", I questioned with a smile, "I take our privacy very seriously."
"I am the agent assigned to watch over Mirajane and Erza till their S-Rank trial period is over.", she told me.
"Uh huh...Laxus and the Thunder Legion all have agents too?", I pressed her, "Or are you being to cheap to get your own room in town?"
"I don't have to answer that.", Yennefer stated.
"Okay, we will go ask him together.", I chuckled.
"I am not going any-", she started to say.
Grabbing her, I tossed her over my shoulder against her wishes and walked out the door. Telling her to shut up, I said if she didn't do so I would throw her out to sea. Keeping her mouth shut, she still thrashed around and repeatedly hit me in the face with her knee in protest.
