Chapter 2 - The Deal of a Lifetime

"I want you to help me fix the Omniverse.", he told me.

Giving him a blank stare, I blinked several times thinking he was joking. When he didn't laugh or even smile, I realized he was serious.

"The whole damn Omniverse!? What the fuck happened?!", I shouted.

"Well...", he said with a dry laugh.

Telling me what happened, I kind of understood the situation now. He had been reckless in defeating a powerful enemy, and had shifted the whole Omniverse towards destruction. Now that he was God, he needed help trying to repair the damage as he couldn't keep up on his own. Since the Omniverse was continuously expanding, it just constantly added more work for him to handle.

"So what's in it for me? I assume I can't request that I pull through my ordeal so what do I get?", I asked.

"Well if you are going to be my colleague, you need power to make changes in the worlds you assist.", he stated with a smirk, "So if you could be someone, who would it be?"

"Easy, I'd be Mael from the Seven Deadly Sins.", I chuckled.

"Not a bad choice, what would you add to him?", he inquired.

"I would want to be able to have three forms, an Angelic Form, Demonic Form, and Base Form. I would want access to all the abilities both the Goddess Clan and Demon Clans had, including Ark, Dark Matter Manipulation, Purgatory Flames, the Ten Commandments, both forms of Full Counter, Revenge Counter, and everything else.", I said with a smirk, "I should have access to the skills the races have regardless of my state. Obviously though it is stronger when I am in the corresponding Form."

"Got it.", he said with a chuckle, "Anything else?"

"Definitely need access to more magic than Mael normally had, being limited to Ark, Sunshine, and offensive magics that Demons had would be kind of be overkill in most situations.", I told, "Also, I would want Escanor's gear including that badass axe."

"Alright, just to be safe I am increasing your stats by a large margin. With all the freak shows coming out of the woodworks it's better to be safe than sorry.", he stated with a serious look, "Alright, that about sums up your build out. Now let me explain the first few worlds I need you to start on first."

The first world on the list was Danmachi, specifically one of the worlds where Bell is actually Bella...a female version of Bell. Not only were their God/Goddess from that series, there were others from other universes too like Belldandy and Aqua. In the current timeline, Bella ends up dying shortly after reaching Orario. She blindly trusts a group of scumbag adventurers from the Soma Familia who take advantage of her naïve nature, and lead her to her death in the Labyrinth. Due to this, no one reaches the level necessary to finish off the Black Dragon.

The second world was Fairy Tail...or rather a warped version of it. In this world the worlds of Black Clover, Harry Potter, and Witcher were all combined into one crazy mess. Many of the really screwed up cults from the Witcher's world managed to sway the non-magic users to their side several hundred years in the past which caused a massive civil war between the groups. Thanks to the efforts of Mavis and countless others, the war came to end with a very shaky peace agreement. If nothing is done, the more radicalized portions of the anti-magic groups will discover the means to cut off magic and then slaughter the mages.

The last world was the Last Airbender world, and it was quite a nightmare. Aang never left the Southern Air Temple, and was caught in the battle that ensued there. Killed in the Avatar State, the greatest threat to the Fire Nation was removed from the world. With nothing stopping the Fire Lords from attacking the other nations, Ozai pushes his military to the limit to subdue other nations. Without the journey he took with Uncle Iroh, Zuko eventually ends up killed by Azula who takes over when her father retires. That's when her mental breakdown happens, and all hell breaks lose.

"By the end of it all, there won't be enough people to rebuild because everyone blames everyone else for what happened.", Clark sighed.

"Jeez...all of them sound really shitty...", I groaned.

"It won't be too bad for you. As my colleague, I leave the decisions to you as you will have the best picture being on the ground. All I care about is that the world itself doesn't get destroyed. Once it does...all the worlds beneath it get snuffed out.", he told me, "It's like dominos, just to put it into perspective."

"Oh boy...I understand, I will do what I can.", I assured him.

"Good, once you are older and have better control of your powers I have a few more worlds for you to go to after those three. Sending you as a child...it wouldn't go over well with the locals.", he stated with a smirk, "Alright then, you are all set to go. I wish you luck, and I will be in touch as time goes by."

---Danmachi World---

Reincarnation was a lot less painful than I thought it was. I half expected to wake up as a new born baby, but instead I woke up in a bed as a three year old child. Sitting up in bed, I glanced around the foreign room trying to figure out where the heck I was. Getting out of the bed, I ran over to the window to see if maybe this was Orario.

Seeing nothing but farmland and hills as far as I could see, I had a sneaking suspicion of where I was. Leaving my room, I saw a suspicious looking old man looking out the window at the next door neighbors. Seeing the drool on his chin, I quickly deduced what he was doing.

"Grandpa, are you looking at the neighbors chickens again?", a young girl stated, "You know you can't eat them, we have to buy them!"

"Haha, I know Bella I am just admiring them. It's been a while since we had fresh meat.", he replied, "Oh Mael, you are awake too! I am glad to see you are up, I was worried after the tumble you took the other day. You need to be careful with overworking yourself, a fall from that height would have killed most children."

"I will keep that in mind.", I promised, 'Great...so I have a pervert adopted grandfather Zeus and a naïve Bella here. Well at least I can prevent her dying right off the bat.'

"Thought you might enjoy getting to have a normal childhood. You didn't have one before, and you can enjoy it with Bella.", Clark told me telepathically.

Understanding what he was suggesting, I decided to test out my powers after having a meal. Sitting down at the table to eat, grandpa made us an egg with heavily salted beef. Watching them eat, I tried a piece of the salt beef and it was like eating leather.

'The fuck!? I can't run my body on this meager food. I get that we are poor, but I have to put food on this table.', I thought, 'Looks like a damn good excuse to test out my strength in combat.'

Forcing the leather and egg down, I washed my dishes and excused myself. Staring at me like I was stranger, our grandfather looked genuinely surprised I cleaned up after myself.

"Looks like that bump on the head did you a lot more good than I thought.", he teased me.

Sighing, I left the house and made myself scarce. Knowing how Bell was in the series, I decided to go with the idea that if Bella saw me going off somewhere dangerous she would follow me thinking she could save me from harm. Getting to the edge of the village, I made sure no one was around before running off into the forest to find a secluded area. Once I was a safe distance from everything, I climbed a tree and took a seat.

"Alright then...if memory serves I have six years before things start getting bad in Orario.", I said to myself, "I will have to step in to save the Astraea Familia from being destroyed to give Bella a decent option for a Familia. There are only a small number of Familia's that I would trust to keep her save, and obviously the Astraea Familia is at the top of the list since it's all women. As for myself...I am not opposed to most Familia's, but Soma's is definitely off the list. I dealt with enough drunkards to last me through this lifetime..."

Looking down at the forest below me, I sat patiently waiting for the wildlife to show up. Half an hour later, a herd of deer came through the area blissfully unware of what was about to happen. As I went to use magic, I stopped myself because I realized something. If Bella and I were going to be Adventurers, now was the time to be earning money. If I used something like a sling to kill the deer, all of the materials would be exchangeable for money.

Tearing a small strip of cloth off my shirt, I made a makeshift sling and grabbed some ammo. Taking a few test shots to get a feel for it, I soon was ready to strike. The first few shots sailed silently by them, but the last two were good hits. Dropping to three deer with the sling, I came out of my hiding spot and confirmed they were dead.

"Alright.", I said clearing my throat, "Item Box!"

Seeing a spatial distortion appear in front of me, I knew the spell had worked properly. Tossing the deer in, I began foraging for other edibles to add to our meal. Wandering around the forest till midday, I made the decision to head back before anyone got wise to my disappearance. Jumping through the trees with ease, I reached the edge of the forest in no time and noticed people searching the edge of the village for something.

'Damn...I forgot how close knit some of these rural communities are...', I thought realizing I may be in trouble.

Making my way back into the outskirts of the village, surprisingly they weren't looking for me. Waving to a few farmers, I asked what they were doing.

"Bella's gone missing.", one of them said, "She wasn't with you, was she?"

"No, I was out foraging.", I partially lied, 'Fuck!! Did she go into the forest the look for me!!'

Glancing back towards the forest, I immediately ran back in to look for her. Using the spell Detect Life every few minutes to try and locate her, I eventually found her fleeing from a a small group of goblins. Rubbing my forehead, I rushed over to help her. Seeing snot and tears running down her face as I approached, she immediately saw me and ran for me.

"Mael help me!!", she cried, "They are going to eat me!!"

'...Goblins don't eat people...I have seen Goblin Slayer, I know what happens...', I thought, "Bella, duck!"

Dropping to the ground I pointed my hand at the goblins.

"Firebolt!", I shouted blasting the first goblin with the attack.

Instead of stopping with one, it cut through the others like butter. Turning back to look at the corpses, she then looked at me wide-eyed.

"You can use magic!!", she gasped, "Since when can you use magic!?"

"I uh...I saw you were in danger, and just reacted.", I lied, "Are you okay?"

Seeing that she was all cut up and bruised, I felt bad for leaving her behind. Knowing that it was partially my fault she came out here, I apologized to her.

"Why are you saying sorry?", she asked with a confused look.

"You came out here looking for me, didn't you?", I remarked.

"Yeah because we couldn't find you in the village. Grandpa thought you went back out into the forest so I wanted to find you before you got hurt again.", she told me, "Instead...you saved me from being Goblin Food."

Touching her forehead, I used Ark to heal her wounds instantly. Realizing the pain she had been feeling vanish, her eyes sparkled like stars.

"You can use Healing Magic too!?", she shouted with a smile, "Are you going to be a wizard?! Can you teach me magic?!"

"I can try...", I said kneeling down so she could get on my back, "Let's go home."

"What are you doing?", she asked.

"Giving you a piggy back ride home.", I told her.

Jumping on my back, she wrapped her arms around my neck and let me carry her back. Keeping a decent pace as I ran home, the villagers saw me enter the village again with Bella on my back. Seeing our grandfather standing in the middle of the road staring at us, instinctively I knew we were in trouble...and so did Bella. Grabbing us by the ear, he pulled us inside the house and gave us a firm talking too. Sending Bella to her room first, he kept me in the kitchen to talk more.

"Why would you go back into the forest? You just recovered, and you immediately go back there...", he sighed, "You should have taken a few days to get used to things again before going back there."

"I wanted to bring home food!", I argued using Item Box in front of him, "Bella and I are growing children, and we need more than leather to eat!"

Staring at me in shock, he watched me pull a whole deer out of it. Placing it on the table, he looked at it closely noticing the small hole in it's head. Asking me where I got it from, I told him I killed it with a sling and showed him the makeshift sling I had. Looking at me to judge whether or not I was lying, he let out a sigh after a few minutes.

"That bump on the head really did something miraculous to you...where did you pick up that skill? Did a God or Goddess give it to you?", he asked.

"No, it just came into my mind.", I stated.

"Hmm...I see.", he replied, "Mael, don't you use that skill in front of people. It is an incredibly rare skill that people would do a lot to get there hands out, including enslaving you. Until you are old enough and strong enough to protect yourself, don't use it carelessly."

"I understand.", I said pulling out other edible items I got, "Can we have a big meal tonight?"

"It's hard to say no when you show off your hunting skills.", he sighed with a smirk, "Of course we can, what will you do with the hide, bones, and everything we don't eat?"

"Sell it to a merchant for money, Bella and I want to be Adventurers so we need money.", I told him.

'Just how hard did he hit his head...', Zeus thought, 'Not more than a week ago he was concerned about using his money for toys. Now he is talking about selling the materials to a merchant to save money for being an Adventurer...maybe there was more to the accident than I realized. Either way it's good he is thinking of the future, I was worried about Bella and his futures.'

Taking the carcass outside, we drained the blood and processed the edible parts of the animal. Ending up with about seventy pounds of meat, including organs he swore we could eat, the rest was left to me to clean myself.
