Chapter 25: Information

Getting out of his thoughts, he looked towards the two he saved "Are you okay?" he asked "Yes thank you!" he said as he bowed slightly.

"It's no problem I honestly just came here for his bounty." I say as I pick up his head, I'll need to cash it in at the Bounty Hunter guild.

"I see, still this one here thanks you. My name is Fa Ken, this little one here is my little sect sister Fa Lin." he introduced himself, but the little girl didn't take kindly to being called little and hit her elder sect brother.

"I'm not little!" she retorts with a cute pout on her face, "Eh! But Lin'er!" Ken Hai seeing this couldn't help but chuckle.

"Why don't we get something to eat." He says.

"Brother Hai this is delicious, are you some kind of hidden expert cook!" shouted Fa Ken as he ate a piece of chicken.

"Big Brother Hai you must join our Iron Blade sect!" said the little as she munches on her food like a chipmunk.

"I'm glad you enjoy it, though I hope I'm not speaking out of line, but why is someone from a sect doing all the way out here?" asked Ken Hai, no way is someone from a powerful sect or family out here unless they are up to no good. This place is way out in the sticks.

"I came here to train my sword skills, for the Golden Eye Pavilion sect meet. My Sect Iron Blade is expected to be there."

"Whats Golden Eye Pavilion or a Pavilion in general?"

"Eh? Brother Hai your aren't really knowledgeable are you?" says Fa Lin "Lin'er that's not a nice thing to say to our benefactor!" Fa Ken scolds his younger sect sister.

"S-sorry elder brother Ken!" she bowed towards me "No it's fine, I'm not really knowledgeable about the current sects and situation I'm from Soothing Rover city."

"I see, well A Pavilion is where the younger generation from other sects, clans or just traveling cultivators without a sect goes to seek guidance from different teachers, there classes which we a sent to learn and gain mastery over our techniques." explains Fa Ken.

So it's like a school? Interesting. "How do you enter if I may ask?"

"Well it's simple you'll have to pay a yearly tuition of over 1,500 silver. and you have to be from the age of 16 to 22."

"WHAT!" I shout out loud. Like Holy shit that's expensive! That's most of my travelling funds!

"Haha! I know it's rather expensive isn't it, but the results say a lot as I'm close to only breaking through to Martial Master in two years, if I'm lucky maybe a year and a few months."

Slow that's super slow, like hell I'm gonna sit on my ass for hundreds of years just to try to get pass a minor realm! I now see cultivation for these guys is super slow.

"Though only inner or core disciples are allowed and even then only the most talented are able to enter a Pavilion." he adds as he shakes his head.

"Of course my big brother is the hope of our Iron Blade Sect!" says Fa Lin as she puffs up her chest with pride.

"I see, so are you the only one from your sect in the Pavilion."

"Yes I'm the only one who's young enough and I have a good cultivation speed." says Fa Ken

"But wait what if a sect betrays Golden eyes Pavilion?" I ask him.

"That's impossible, as the Pavilion master and many teachers once taught many of the current elders in the sects various sects allied to them and not only that they have deep connections to the royal family as the Emperor and Empresses even attended during they're younger years."

This little tidbit intrigued Ken Hai, this would mean no one would even dare to try to offend them.

"Though two hundred years ago a mid rank sect offended a teacher from the Golden Eye Pavilion and many of the allied sects completely destroyed it." says Fa Ken with a bit of dread lacing his tone.

"....Sounds like I should be careful." Fa Ken couldn't help but nod. "Brother Hai where are you going after this?" asked Fa Lin.

"Truthfully I'm not really going any where I'm just on a journey for the sake of adventure. I'm not very interested in joining any sects as of now sorry." Fa Lin seemed to deflate at this.

"Well then Ken Hai, I Fa Ken vow to the heavens repay the debt I owe you for today." says Fa Ken with resolution deep in the tone of his voice.
