Reincarnated! But Why Here?

Her past and present everything is veiled in mystery and she has to unravel what transpired to her. But can this journey be easy enough like taking a stroll in the park? Sabrina Williams has always been smart and introverted or so she believes... For others, reincarnation simply symbolizes a new life, for her, it is more than it appears to be. Probably reincarnation without former life memories is the biggest initiating blessing 'God' can grant. Yet this too is not given to her. A new family, a new race, and a new identity, now known as Cordelia Esperance Bloodrose. Merely recalling bits and pieces of her former life is not enough for Cordelia. Although life has never been accommodating for her, she never complained and still won't. Just this is not enough to stop her from knowing every truth hidden from her. The current realm is a setup from the book. And she never imagined, the sly Demon Prince, who won't stop following her, is not any character.

Long-Awaited Birth (Part - II)

Continued from...

These aspects cannot be ignored.

'I'm sleepy... Wait, it seems I have ignored a crucial element. Was it Magic...?' With these thoughts, baby Cordelia entered the sleeping land.

Duke Armaturov immediately caught sight of his daughter's slumber and carefully gave her back to his wife. He shushed his son who wanted to take a look at his sister's sleeping face. He explained to his enthusiastic son, "Newborns need sleep to replenish their energy."

The Duchess placed her on the bed to the right, so she can sleep peacefully. She arranged a pillow wall on the other side of her daughter and turned to her husband.

Although she is not that fatigued, the hunger made her feel discomfort. When she discovered that she was expecting a child, she was ecstatic. Her husband wasn't that pleased with the news. He was more worried about her health, the harm it'll inflict on her constitution. She gestured him to come closer and whispered, "You don't have to worry anymore, go back to finish the pressing matters and I'm hungry, first give me some blood."

The young boy knew it was his turn to flee. He bid farewell to his parents before they began, "I shall take my leave." He left without waiting for a reply, he'll come back later to play with his sister.

He is not the legitimate child of Duke and Duchess. He knows he is not a good boy, otherwise, his parents wouldn't have left him. The ducal couple accepted him and promised to treat him like their own child. He never felt like an outsider in this family of three. And now they have a new member, so he didn't want her to dislike him.

Outside the inner chamber gate, a pair of twin siblings with almost exact facial features were discussing something energetically. The male twin almost a head taller than the female was fed up with his sister's annoyingly nonchalant expression shouted, "Although I was not present there and haven't seen the young miss yet, she will surely go after our Lady." His amber eyes were burning with a desire to fight.

"Exactly as you declared, you were not present there. And I saw the young miss." The female twin, Edriesa with the same amber eyes said without a change in her tone. Her face serene without emotion, unlike her foolish brother who was hopping mad receiving the reply.

Duke Armaturov, who fed his wife came out of the inner chamber, heard the shouting. His whole demeanor changed from gentle to gloomy, inquired Edriesa, "The midwife?"

At once Edriesa saluted and even the wild twin went silent while standing straight.

"Per your orders, she is waiting in your study. Butler Zoran is attending to her." She answered while bowing to salute.

Without glancing at the Xarya siblings he strode towards his study to have an engaging discussion with that Midwife, "Nester follow me and Edriesa go back to look after your Lady."

"Yes, Master." Chorused the twin siblings. Without additional chatter, Nester obeyed his Master while Edriesa entered the inner chambers quietly like an agile feline.

Walking the long passageway Duke Armaturov asked, "Any message from capital Araceli?"

When he was notified about his wife's labor he was on the way to take his son for Araceli. They rushed back from halfway, he wanted to use warp to come faster but he could not leave his son unattended. Especially when his personal knight, Nester Xarya was left to look after his wife, while others were also deployed on different missions.

"No message yet. It seems they have not caught the news regarding My Lady and young miss yet."

Nester, the twin with a boisterous personality was hot-headed but in presence of his master, he was steady and clever like a fox. He knew when to focus and for this reason, Armaturov trusted him more. He could see his Master was worried about something, so he didn't utter another word simply followed quietly like a shadow.

"Hmm... Keep it this way until further advised." Arriving at the big door of his study, he ended the previous topic and entered the room to have the urgent talk.

Cordelia felt herself trapped in a black void. Not possessing a body, only her consciousness was present there. Feeling the surrounding she heard a girl's voice.

*"Wh... why do this brother?" A soft and mellow voice inquired, almost sounding as if hoping he will denounce her for asking such a question.*

Cordelia felt a discomfort never felt before. The tiny body lying near her mother started trembling.

*Receiving no response the voice went on like clutching the losing hope, "If you have asked, I'd given it all up. If only you have... asked."*

As the voice continued she felt the urge to close her ears so that she need not listen to the voice. The Duchess napping lightly felt the newborn's discomfort and caught sight of her at once. She scooped up the newborn and tried to soothe her, "Shh... my sweetheart what happened?"

*"Father never wronged you, he would never..." The pain in the voice was getting deeper, it got cut off like she heard a response.*

The voice was getting weaker and Cordelia wanted to escape this nightmare. A gentle embrace provided her a little solace but it went away with a new deep and resentful voice.

*"My sweet Theodora, Elohim was only your father, and your alone... he nev..."*

This time, she felt like a deep knife was embedded in her body and she cannot take it out even if she wanted to. She felt the pain of the girl who was speaking earlier. As it got unbearable the voice was cut in half as if the dream came to an abrupt end and heard a gentle humming. A soft stroke on her chest while in a warm embrace.

The Duchess was anxious seeing her newborn crying in her sleep. What could make a child cry without making a sound, it made the Duchess anxious and frightened, but she still patted her in rhythm. The child did not wake up.

She hastily turned and rang the bell. Edriesa materialized from the darkness on the foot of the bed and bowed in half, "Any orders My Lady."

"Go call your Master here, now!" Duchess shouted in an assertive tone.

Noticing the urgency in the command Edriesa didn't inquire anymore and headed towards the door.

When she turned her head back to hum and reassure her daughter, the child was watching her with her big eyes with remnants of tears in the corners. The Duchess felt like her heart was seized and squeezed by an invisible hand. She exhaled a relieved sigh and called back Edriesa.

"No need to call Siniel currently, inform him when he is done with his work. Go back."

Cordelia was feeling disturbed, she forgot what the nightmare was about but the pain never felt so real. Her mind was still not clear so she attempted to concentrate on the only individual present near her, the Lady who is also her mother. At this point, she was gazing at her worriedly, her eyebrows furrowed but her soothing motion never stopped.

Edriesa heeded her Lady's orders and entered the shadow again.

For some reason, Cordelia felt, it wasn't so terrible to have a mother worried for her sake. The moment she opened her eyes to this world, she felt indifferent. She was curious about this world but she didn't felt the need to care or interact with the individuals known as her family.

There is this distrust of any or every person who could be related to her. She did not know what transpired in her former life to gain this much dislike. She still does not know if she can confide in others, but if it's this mother of hers maybe she can have someone to lean on.

The memories of her former life are not precise. Names, locations, and countenances, she cannot recall anything perfectly. Nevertheless, she does recall some unusual elements. Like for instance, she was gifted in the art of music, loved to play games, moreover, was an intellectual learner, and had a decent amount of fiction in her collection.

And this phenomenon of her reincarnation was used in quite a few of those books. She need not take everything at once, she'll take one thing at a time. The first would be her surroundings and individuals related to her.
