Demon Burning Curse

LUCY'S POV:-

The Demon Burning Curse, a rare curse that stops the recipient from attacking the curse giver and it's kind as a whole.

Which in simple terms means I, Lucy, can't kill the person who gave me the curse along with anyone from the same kind.

'The Sin of Gluttony, Abaddon, The Orc King' I mutter

The bastard who killed my whole family in front of me and left me to suffer because I was 'amusing' to him.

Because of him I can't kill any devils or orcs.

I can't tell anyone who did it to me either or give any form of clues about it.

If I try to tell anything, the curse starts burning my insides.

I needed to find a cure.

I searched endlessly for the cure for 2 years, wandering from place to place.

I met a great soothsayer, who asked me to go to the elves and said that there I will find the cure.

Here I met Robin.

What he told me next crushed my hope, "Two of our strongest, Glain the sixth branch and Albedo the seventh branch are under the same curse as you. If we had any cure, they would have already been cured by now"

I thought of dying then and there.

But he said," maybe it's not the elves but somewhere around the Elven Kingdom that has a cure?"

Honestly, I don't have much hope.

I don't want to live my whole life searching for a cure.

I want revenge, I want to kill that damn devil.

Until I kill him, I don't think I can live like nothing happened.

But...

I am weak.

I am tired.

I still get nightmares about losing my family.

'Maybe I'll wait a few more months then die.' Is what I had planned but...

"Your left eye that has 'Demon burning curse', I have a way to cure it," he spoke those words.

The first thing that came to my mind was that soothsayer's words.

Then I take a look at that child in front of me.

He is weak.

So weak that I can kill him with a flick of my fingers.

But...I will take a chance.

Even if it is just a prank of a kid.

I will take that chance.

Zwain uses his [Nature's Eyes]. It can verify the truth. He looks astounded.

My heartbeat rises but I still maintain a calm expression.

I nod at him.

Eventually we decided to follow him.

...

There are 7 people in the room including us.

They are looking at Morpheus to explain what is going on?

The kid from yesterday is here too, his gaze is piercing me.

I turn my head left feigning ignorance.

'Please don't look at me like that. This is embarrassing.'

"I bought them here because I thought Phan might need a teacher at times when I am not present. Lucy agreed to do it, in exchange for a help that I am about to provide." He says.

"The others are Robin and Zwain-", the cup in the old man's hand breaks. He looks really shocked at the moment. Well, Zwain is the strongest in Eslain after Karina, so not getting surprised would be more odd.

The old man then gets another cup of tea for himself and starts slowly drinking it

" Continuing...I am going to break her 'Demon Burning Curse'-"

He spits out the tea.

'Is this really a prank?' I mumble looking at the bewildered expression of the only adult who looks like their guardian. My brows furrow a bit.

He is going to speak something but what Morpheus said next stops him.

Morpheus starts walking around and explains

"I don't have a way to erase the curse itself but I do have a way to overlap it with something that can outmatch the curse and stop its functions.

Simply speaking you will have two energies fighting each other constantly, and the effect of both energies will be nulled. So are you in it?"

I think about it for a while...

Even if I die today...It won't change anything much in the future...the worst case scenario would be getting another curse but then I would ask Zwain to kill me.

'So either it's a cure or death, huh'

At least I want to kill Abaddon and then die peacefully.

I want to 'return' to my family soon.

Should I wait for another chance with more surety?

I look at Zwain and he says, " He is telling the truth."

I then say, "Okay," without any hesitation.

Morpheus asks me to wait for a few moments then proceeds to draw something in the training area.

A magic circle...A big magic circle of radius 15-16metre. Aren't only Royal mages are the one who can memorise this big circles? I look at Zwain, he is not shocked?

He looks at me and whispers, "even if he reveals he is a Royal mage, I won't be surprised now."

15 metres later.

A big circle is present in the field.

Morpheus asks me to move to the centre, close my eyes and apply magic to the circle. When the magic circle completely fills, Zwain and Robin are then required to add extra mana from the outside.

I do what he asked me to do.

The process is painful but bearable.

2hours later

"All done. Now you need to fulfil your end of the deal. Teach Phan everyday for six hours from morning 6 to 12. Thank you in advance." He speaks.

I try speaking

"The sin...of... Gluttony, Abaddon, The Orc King is the one who cursed me..."

It doesn't burn.

"He killed my parents right in front of me..."

I speak more...it feels refreshing.

"He was the one that toyed with me and my family for 2 weeks..."

I want to speak more.

"He asked my mother to...."

I couldn't stop myself from speaking.

"My father he couldn't take it...he killed himself then and there."

I want to cry.

"He was the one...thad bastard was the...one who killed my brother in front of me..."

Tears start coming out.

"He asked...my brother...to...kill my parents...he refused....then...he was asked....to..."

I tell them what happened, then,

"THAT BASTARD ORC KING, I TRIED KILLING HIM...I TRIED MY BEST BUT...I WAS WEAK...I WAS FUCKING WEAK..."

I shout and tell them what I did

"HE TOYED WITH ME AND WHEN I WAS DYING HE HEALED ME THEN TOYED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN..."

I tell them what he did

"And when he was finally bored with me...he cursed me..."

I was all alone.

"I wandered alone, for a long time, I killed monsters, became strong...then an orcs settlement found me..."

I tell them my darkest secret.

"....and then I knew about my curse and it's effects."

I tell them about my despair.

"I somehow escaped and reached a village,"

I tell them about my small hope

"I tried telling them about everything but I couldn't..."

And how it was crushed.

"...from there I searched for the cure..."

I tell them everything.

"...I then met you...Thank you Morpheus...I, Lucy Farcel, Ruby ranked adventurer, gives this life to you. Use me however you want. But there is one wish I want to fulfil at any cost."

And then I give myself to him.

"I want to kill the Orc King."

I declare

Then...I grew tired...but somehow it's relaxing...I lose my consciousness...and everything turns black.

ZWAIN'S POV:-

Lucy is asleep now.

What happened with her must have been suffocating.

I ask Morpheus for some time to ask some questions.

Robin and Kaneto joins us too.

The children went to train.

I activate my [Nature's Eyes] to detect truth or lies.

Then...

I ask him about the circle.

He answers me that he had an epiphany.

Then I ask him,

"Did you planned our meeting?"

"Yes"

"Did you know Lucy was going to come there?"

"No"

"What do you want from me?"

"I need a way to enter the Heaven's Library"

"What do you want from the Heaven's Library?"

"Secret"

"Is Morpheus your real name?"

"Secret"

"Do you have any other motive to come to Eslaine?"

"I didn't had any when I came but now I have."

"What?"

"Secret"

"Why did you help Lucy?"

"I want her to join my party temporarily."

"Temporarily?"

"I have other plans for her"

"Do you have any ill intention towards her?"

"No"

"What are your next plans?"

"Secret"

"Are you an ally or an enemy?"

"I am neutral."

"Will you go against us?"

"Only if you go against me."

"How strong are you?"

"Secret."

I sigh at his answers.

"All right, one last question...do you know where the Elf princess is?"

".."

'Huh?'

'Does he...'

He stays silent for a few moments before speaking,

"I don't know...but I think I might have an idea where she could be."

I recheck with my eyes...it says it's the truth.

"Where?" I ask in a serious tone.

After losing the Royal princess the Elven Kingdom is in turmoil...everything is going down the drain...other races are mocking us.

Though, it's been over a month, we haven't heard any news about her.

But what's more shocking is the place about which he tells me.

"If I am not wrong, then she is currently in Eslaine," He says.
