Setting off
A while after Yamato's announcement team Yamato, or as the girls called it behind his back team lolicon, stood in front of the Hokage.
"I believe Yamato has already informed you about your next mission, however, for formality's sake I shall give you the debriefing anyway. Your mission is a C-ranked mission consisting of scorting and protecting Tazuna, a bridge builder from the land of waves until he finishes the bridge he will be building there. With that said, Tazuna please enter and meet your escorts."
Soon after a side door opened to reveal an old inebriated man. Taking a large gulp from the sake bottle in his hand Tazuna looked at his soon to be escorts before scoffing.
"So I will be protected by a group of little girls. Shouldn't you all be playing with dolls or something" Hearing the man's dismissive words made the trio angry.
"Tazuna-san, I don't think it's a good idea to antagonize those that will be in charge of your safety." Of course Tomoka wouldn't let it slide just like that. This is why these words were said with a bright smile that didn't reach her eyes.
"Tch, Whatever" Like that the old man left the room. Followed soon after by team Yamato. They would meet again early in the morning at Konoha's main gate.
The next day came soon after and so all participants for the mission were present including, of course, old man Tazuna, who was late by almost half an hour.
"At least the brats are punctual." After that comment Nozomi was oh so close to murdering the old man. Not literally mind you, it would require a lot more for the girls to get murderous but still, she wanted to put a kunai to his throat.
Yamato, seeing this, couldn't help but have a wry smile on his face. All things considered Tazuna wasn't all that bad of a client. A bit confrontational but he had seen worse in his career as a ninja. He felt like this would be a good lesson for the girls.
"If you don't have anything useful to say then zip it. We need to keep guard and concentrate if you want to keep your head attached to your neck." To the rest of team Yamato's surprise this comment was made by Hinata. Yes, that gentle and shy Hinata, though the shy part is extremely debatable at this point in time.
"All right everyone, let's not waste any more daylight and start walking." and so their rather boring journey started. The land of waves is an island not far off the land of fire's south coast. The land of fire being a rather large country would mean that they would need to traverse a rather large distance. For jounin like Yamato going at full speed at least two days would be needed. Unfortunately they couldn't go that fast since they needed to keep pace with Tazuna who for all intents and purposes is a normal human being.
If they were to walk from dawn to dusk with an hour break every meal then they would need at least a week of travel. Of course this wouldn't be the case either as the old man wouldn't be able to keep such a pace. Therefore the trip there would take them at least two weeks plus an extra week or so for Tazuna to build his bridge; they would be out of Konoha for around a month give or take a week. All of this brings us to what is happening right now, three days after the left.
"I am so bored!" Tomoka couldn't help but complain after keeping it in for the last three days. Even though she had a constant stream of memories and info coming from her phantoms to keep her occupied somewhat she still felt bored. Now she couldn't even start to comprehend how the other's weren't bored to death.
"Same!" Nozomi responded almost instantly.
"Me too." Hinata answered as well.
"I don't know what is worse, walking for days without anything interesting happening or painting fences for the nth time!" Hearing Tomoka, the other two girls nodded.
"Well girls, this is how C-ranked escort missions usually go. It is rather rare for the target to get attacked since those that would be keen on doing are bandits who wouldn't attack ninja's unless they are suicidal."
Hearing Yamato's words, the three girls thought the same thing.
'''Makes sense but still! Boring!'''
