The Orphanage

Equinox ran downstairs immediately and saw Succubi fuming with anger. She looked like a mess.

Thank goodness she told Anastasia to stay upstairs only. Who knows what succubi will do in a fit of anger?

"Long time no see succubi. Where were you these days? Didn't see you for months." Equinox asked nicely, but Succubi was not in the mood to play.

"I have works to do, unlike you." Succubi looked at her scornfully. "Why am I even talking to you? Get away from me. Where is that bitch Anastasia!? I am going to kill her." She tried to go upstairs but Equinox stopped her.

Equinox held succubi's hand tightly. "Calm down! What the hell is wrong with you?"

"What the hell is wrong with me? What is wrong with you?" Succubi's face turned red with anger. "You knew it. Right? You knew I wanted to marry Ezen but still you…" She gritted her teeth. "Let it be. You are not even worth my time." She shrugged Equinox's hand off her and dashed upstairs.

Anastasia who was nervous, heard footsteps of someone running towards her.

Equinox was running behind Succubi to stop her. But too late.

When Succubi entered the room, she couldn't control her anger. She felt betrayed. She wanted to take her anger on someone. When she saw Anastasia, she wanted nothing but to kill her.

"You bitch!" She moved forward to slap her but Anastasia held her arm. She was not going to let anyone bully her.

"That's not a nice way to greet someone." Anastasia held her arm so tightly, that succubi's skin started to burn. When she felt it was enough, she left her hand. "Now say, what happened?"

Succubi moaned with pain when she left her hand. "Don't act innocent. You know what you did." She glared at her.

"Succubi! That's enough! Get out from her!" Equinox screamed, telling her to leave.

"No, wait." She looked at Equinox. "I want to know." She crossed her arm and stared at succubi. "What did I do?" She wants to know what her problem was.

"You married Ezen? Do you think you deserve him?" Succubi yelled angrily.

"What? You were mad at me for that?" Anastasia chuckled. "Yeah, I did. So what?"

"Don't be so arrogant. He only used you. If you would have been some normal girl, he would have not even looked at you." She gave her a disdainful look. "You are nothing but a human vessel for him. Just wait and watch. He will throw you out of his life just like that."

"Okay." Anastasia nodded. "Let's say he did used me. So… the matter is between me and him. Right?" She clasped her hand. "If that's the case then why are you getting mad? What are you? His girlfriend?" Seeing succubi silent she smirked. "No right? That's what I thought."

"You!!" She snickered. "You think you are special? Your marriage is not even legal." She looked at Equinox. "Right sis?"

Equinox looked down. It was the truth. According to book 011, a supernatural creature can only get married to their soulmate. If they married someone other than them, then that marriage will be called invalid.

She don't understand why Succubi was making a scene. Not like she was Ezen's soulmate.

"Oh my god! I am so hurt." Anastasia said sarcastically. She started to get tired of her tantrums. "You think I care succubi? Why are you projecting your insecurities on me? I feel pity for you."

"There is no need to feel pity for me! You should pity yourself. Now that Ezen got back into his body you think he won't take his revenge." She smirked. "You should be extra careful. Who knows when your old hag grandma will see her last day?"

"Shut up!" Anastasia had it enough. "Just because I am not saying anything, doesn't mean you can talk nonsense and I am just going to listen. If you dared to say anything about my grandma, I am going to ruin you so bad that not even your mum can fix it."

"What!?" When she heard it, succubi got more enraged. "Say again! I dare you. Say that again."

"Equinox I am going. I have lectures to attend. I can't waste time here anymore." Saying that, she threw the memory box inside her bag and left the room while completely ignoring succubi's presence.

"Look at her attitude." Succubi's eyes turned red as she watched her back. "This new girl born yesterday is going to threaten me!?"

"You deserve it succubi. Even you know the truth." Equinox taunted. If she was in Anastasia's place, she would have break succubi's jaw. She had no right to say something like this about someone's grandmother.

"Oh come on. You should shut up only." It was Equinox's fault the most. "Everything happened because of you. It's all your stupid creation's fault." Maybe she only forced Ezen to married that wench. She will never forgive Equinox in her entire life.

"Yes. I forced him to get married. Happy?" Succubi was very angry, if you tell her anything she is going to get more mad. All will fall on deaf ears.

"I don't understand. Why are you so mad? Not like you loved Ezen or anything?" Succubi only wanted to use him to be next queen of hell. There was no love. It was all facade. "Oh wait! I get it now." Equinox patted her back. "You are mad because you lost. Your dreams are shattered. Right?" She tried to give her fake sympathy, "That's so sad."

"Get your dirty hands away from me!" Succubi wiped her tears. She just lost her huge chance. Instead of giving sympathy, Equinox is trying to put salt on her wounds. "Instead of helping me, you are siding with that human girl!" She realised now, whatever Lilith say is true. "Mom was right. You are the worst thing happened to hell. Freaking blood traitor."

"See… I don't care what you or your mom thinks about me." Thinking about it, whatever happened with her was good only. Who wants to be associate with these selfish peoples? "If you are done then there's the door" Equinox pointed towards the exit. "Leave!"

"You are going to pay for this Equinox!" Succubi threatened. "I'll tell mom about this. With Anastasia, she is going to kill you too. You just wait and watch." Saying that, she stormed out from the room.

Thankfully she is gone. Equinox sighed with relief. She had no energy to deal with succubi. Who knows what she will do next?

While Equinox was relaxing on the sofa. She heard her phone ring. It was call from Ezen. She quickly picked the call.

"Hello! Ezen? Where are you? Are you okay?" She asked with concern.

"Yeah. I am okay." Ezen found her behaviour odd. "What happened? Why are you suddenly asking for me?"

"You don't know what happened here." She couldn't wait to tell him this. "Succubi came home."

"Succubi!?" Whenever she comes, some drama always happens. "What did she do now!?"

"Just usual stuff." Equinox bitted her tongue in annoyance. "She fought with Anastasia for no reason."

"What!? Why?" Why do succubi always creates drama? "Where is Anastasia now!? Give her phone." She might be very angry now. Maybe he can calm her.

"She is not here. She left after the argument. She had lectures so she wanted to leave."

"Oh no! How can you let her leave?" Ezen became stressed. "While ago some people were following you guys and now you let her go alone? How can you be so careless Equinox?"

"Oh my god. Oh my god! I am so sorry." Because of succubi, she didn't realised that Anastasia might get in trouble. How can she be so stupid to make such big blunder? "So what now? Are you going or should I go?"

"No. I think it will be best if I go." The demons know Equinox's weak points. If she went then she would also get trapped. It's better if he go for their safety.

"Fine. But let me know when you go there. Alright?" Equinox got anxious. She prayed, hoping everything will be alright.

"Yeah sure. Bye." Saying that, he ended the call.

Right now the most important thing to do is to find Anastasia. Who knows where she is?

Anastasia glanced at the watch on her wrist and noticed she still had 45 minutes free before the lecture starts. She can't go in the university this early. While she was thinking what to do till then, a tiny droplets of water fell on her head.

It was raining. "Oh god! Why now?" Anastasia got upset because the rain was ruining her clothes. She ran towards the nearest place to protect herself from it. Not knowing what place it was.

The owner of the place came outside to check who was there, she instantly recognised her when she saw her place. "Anastasia?" The lady fixed her glasses to see properly. "It's you. Right?"

"Oh! Mrs Franklin?" Anastasia bowed. "I didn't realised I was here." She looked at the board. She was currently in Mrs Franklins orphanage. It's been long time since she has been here. Before she used to come here everyday to play with the little kids here. But she stopped coming after she joined her medical school.

"Why are you out? Please come inside. Leave after the rain stop." Mrs franklin tried to call her in.

"Oh thanks." Anastasia got inside the room. The place looked like it was in mess. Half of the shelfs were empty. Boxes were laying on the ground. Were they moving somewhere? Before she could ask Mrs franklin about it, she was attacked by bunch of cute little kids.

"Sister." A 5 year old little girl came towards her and hugged her tightly. "Where were you gone?"

"Rose?" Anastasia crouched and hugged the girl back. She remembers this girl. She first met her when rose was just 2 years old. How did she still remembers her? Like she suspected, rose was also a special kid.

Anastasia hugged other kids too. "Oh my goodness. You guys changed so much in this 3 years." She chuckled.

"Yeah. They missed you very much." Mrs franklin cried as she watched the kids. After so much time they looked happy.

The kids happily took her inside their rooms and showed her the place. Everything was in good shape but all of their things were packed in a box.

"Are you guys moving somewhere else?" Anastasia found it weird. "What's with the packing?"

"Actually… The landlord told us to." Before Rose could complete her sentence. Mrs Franklin stopped her. She didn't wanted Anastasia to know about this matter.

"Kids enough talking." Mrs franklin smiled and told the kids to do their work. "Go and pack your bags. Go fast."

The kids looked at Anastasia sadly. They didn't wanted to go. But they also can't disobey Mrs franklin. That's why they did as she said.

Anastasia was confused about what rose said.

"Wait! I don't understand. What did the landlord say?" She tried to ask Mrs franklin about it. But she got no response.

Instead Mrs franklin sat on the chair and begin to weep about her terrible state. "I am sorry." She apologised for her sudden outburst. "It just.." She slowly begin to tell me everything.

Mrs franklin got into heavy debt after her husband's demise. Now she don't have any money in her bank account. She sold her all her stuff so this poor kids could atleast eat something. She had no place to live, nothing. She did so many good things for the needy people and return, she is being treated like this. Anastasia started to feel bad for her. Why is this world so cruel to the good people?

She glanced at the paper laying on the table. It was a notice. If Mrs franklin don't move out today. The landlord will throw them on the street.

"Where are you planning on going afterwards?" Anastasia asked with concern.

"Anywhere god takes me." Mrs franklin smiled and wiped her tears. "That's the only hope." She don't think her god will abandoned her after everything she has been through.

Anastasia started to feel more sad. Hopefully she could help her someway. While she thought about it, she heard a notification noise coming from her phone. She glanced at it and was shocked to see what it was.

Who might have send it? That's when she realised the deal she made with Ezen way before. Thank goodness the money came so early. Now she can finally help the orphanage with this thing.

"Excuse me miss…" She tried to talk with Mrs franklin. But till that time she was gone. Someone was at the door. Maybe she went to

see who it was.

She waited until she heard yelling noise from outside.

The kids were scared. After calming them down, she went outside to check what happened.

"Please give us few days. I promise I will give you all of your money." Mrs franklin begged while crying.

"No!" The landlord got rude. "I can't deal with your annoying kids anymore. Get out otherwise I…" He pushed the lady away.

"Hey!" Anastasia caught Mrs franklin before she could fall. "Careful." She glared at the landlord. "Don't you have any courtesy? Is this how you behave with a women?"

"Oh please!" The landlord got annoyed. "You don't teach me how to behave. You don't know how much money this woman owe me?"

"How much?" She asked.

"50 lakh rent is for a year. She didn't paid me for 2 years so 1 million." The landlord smirked. "Can you give me that much money right now?"

"Yeah sure." Anastasia nodded. "But let's make it double. I want to buy this place." She didn't wanted this dude to trouble Mrs franklin again.

"What?" He was caught off guard.

"Yeah. How much does this whole place cost?"

"Uhh… 7 million" he tried to add extra money.

"Don't lie." She read his mind. "I know it's 6 million. Don't try to cheat me."

"Fine whatever. Give me 6 million."

After doing online payment, she purchased the orphanage. Just so in the future kids won't be homeless.

When the man left. Mrs franklin didn't know how to thank her. If it was not Anastasia, she and the kids would have been homeless by now.

She hugged Anastasia and cried. "Thank you so much dear. I am forever indepted to you. I'll try to pay you little amount as much as I can."

"Please don't thank me Mrs franklin." She hugged her back. "By talking about the debt, you are making me feel like a stranger. I did this for the kids. I don't need anything in return."

"But…" Mrs franklin thought it was wrong. She at-least deserve something. "Tell me what you want? I will get anything for you."

"No need. I only need your blessing." Anastasia held Mrs franklin's hand. You did lot of things for those orphans kids without getting anything in return. Why can't I do the same? I will at least get good karma like you."

Mrs franklin cried and patted her head. "You are an angel. I hope there were more people like you."

Anastasia smiled and glanced at the clock. It was too late. She completely forgot about her lecture. "Bye aunty I have to go. I am late. Tell the kids I am going." While waving goodbye, she ran outside. The rain also stopped. Hopefully, she would reach in time.
