"Vice Commander, mission accomplished."
An Anbu operative approached Sakumo Hatake. Their team had just eliminated the forty shinobi escorting Kumogakure's supply convoy, leaving no survivors.
Sakumo's nine-man squad remained unscathed, with barely a scratch among them.
Leading them was Sakumo himself, an elite-level shinobi, and the eight others were all top-tier jōnin and special jōnin—each handpicked by Hui for his Anbu division.
"What should we do with these supplies?" an Anbu member asked.
"Take whatever we need to replenish our own provisions," Sakumo ordered, "and destroy the rest."
There was no way to bring such a large amount of supplies back through the Land of Lightning. It was better to leave nothing usable for the enemy than risk them retrieving it.
"Yes, sir!" The eight Anbu nodded in unison, quickly taking what they needed from the supplies.
Then, they set the rest ablaze with Fire Release, burning everything that could ignite. For items that didn't burn easily, they used Earth Release to bury them deep underground.
"Let's move," Sakumo said, his voice cold and resolute. "Our mission is to disrupt Kumogakure's supply lines completely. Not a single resource should make it out of the Land of Lightning."
"Yes, sir!" The Anbu chorused, fully aware of Sakumo's prowess and authority.
This was the White Fang of Konoha, a force capable of dismantling Kumogakure's logistics.

Meanwhile, at the foot of Moonfall Mountain in the Land of the Moon, the Kumogakure unit responsible for receiving the supply convoy was growing anxious.
The expected supply handoff was already overdue.
"Captain, is it possible something delayed them on the way?" one shinobi asked, uncertainty evident in his tone.
"Let's wait a bit longer," the squad captain replied, though his worry was obvious. "Let's hope… nothing's gone wrong."
But after another hour passed with no sign of the supply unit, the captain could no longer keep his calm.
"Damn it! Something's definitely happened!" he muttered, then rushed toward the main Kumogakure camp to report to the Third Raikage.
Inside the main camp, Third Raikage A was staring at the map, lost in thought. Stuck in a defensive posture, his troops couldn't mount any significant attacks on Konoha's defenses.
Their only remaining strategy was to hold Moonfall Mountain, ensuring that Hui couldn't leave and threaten their homeland. This was more of a deterrent than a true offensive strategy.
"Raikage-sama, something's wrong!"
The urgent shout jolted Ay out of his thoughts. He turned toward the approaching shinobi, frowning.
"Our supply convoy… something's happened to it!"
Ay's eyes widened in alarm as he stood up. "Explain!"
"Our supply unit should have arrived by now, but they're overdue by more than an hour. I fear they've been ambushed," the shinobi explained.
"That can't be… Konoha's high-level forces are tied up at the front lines. Who could have slipped into the Land of Lightning to disrupt our supply lines?" Ay began, then halted, realization dawning on him. "Konoha's White Fang?!"
Suddenly, it all made sense. Mochizuki Hui, Konoha's Anbu Commander, often worked closely with the White Fang, and there were numerous accounts of the two appearing together.
In every tale of Hui's exploits, Konoha's White Fang was frequently mentioned as his right-hand man, almost inseparable.
Yet here, in the current battle at Moonfall Mountain, Konoha's White Fang had been conspicuously absent.
"Damn it!" Ay cursed, piecing it all together. He immediately gave orders to dispatch an elite force of over a hundred shinobi back to the Land of Lightning to confront Konoha's White Fang.
However, before Ay's orders could be carried out, another shinobi burst into the camp. "Raikage-sama! It's Mochizuki Hui—he's attacking the camp!"
Ay's face drained of color. Forgetting the supply line issue for a moment, he dashed out of the command tent, to assess the situation himself.
As soon as he emerged, he was met with the sight of a blazing inferno engulfing parts of the camp, with Kumogakure shinobi desperately trying to either extinguish the flames or flee.
Looking up, Ay saw the source of the fire: a massive pair of greenish-white wings arcing gracefully through the sky.
And at the centre of those wings was the unmistakable figure of Mochizuki Hui.
"Mochizuki Hui!" Ay gritted his teeth, his anger flaring even as he felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness.
Hui had developed a flying jutsu, shattering any hope that Kumogakure's defensive strategy could keep him contained.
Combined with Konoha's White Fang disrupting their logistics, Ay felt a wave of despair wash over him as his vision darkened, nearly making him stagger.
"Is this… defeat for Kumogakure?" he muttered, staring in a daze at Hui, who was unleashing wave after wave of devastating attacks from above.
"To think our plans would come undone at Moonfall Mountain… brought low by a single man," Ay murmured bitterly, his heart weighed down by a profound sense of powerlessness.
….
High above, Hui looked down at the chaos unfolding below him. For the first time, he felt fully in control, holding the fate of the battlefield in his hands.
His wings, named the Wings of Wind, were created from wind-nature chakra.
Though they were still a new technique and had certain limitations, such as relatively slow speed compared to his ground movements, they allowed him to take to the skies, a feat that was more than enough to sway the battle in his favor.
The wings did have a high energy consumption, which would usually be an issue, but for Hui, with his vast chakra reserves, this wasn't a concern.
Even with these limitations, the ability to fly provided an overwhelming advantage.
In the shinobi world, flight remained a rare power, and gaining control of the skies afforded a tactical upper hand few could replicate. With an aerial vantage point and an endless supply of chakra, he could strike at Kumogakure's forces with impunity.
Looking down at the disarray below, Hui smirked before launching another Great Fireball Technique.
With his vast energy reserves, he didn't need to worry about running out of chakra. And from up here, they couldn't touch him.
At that moment, Hui felt an exhilarating sense of freedom.
"Air strikes… they're fantastic. Should I develop a…"
