—(Hikari POV)—
As I sit next to my brother in the same car I look over at him.
I remember the cold and unfeeling look in his eyes as if there's nothing worth caring about when we were at our parent's funeral...
Our parents just died... doesn't he feel anything!?
No... he has been this way since the start how could I forget.
I remember how scary he was when I first met him that cold emotionless gaze as his strange eyes bore through my very soul. I shiver just thinking about it...
Even though he is scary, he still treats me like his sister, even when our parents aren't around he would warmly smile when talking to me.
He does the chores and never causes trouble, he has even helped me with when I study, at first I was suprised after all he hasn't gone to school since he first went missing but I later discovered that he spends most of his time studying.
The only strange thing he does is drink my blood. I was suprised when he first bit my neck but it didn't hurt...
'Actually it f-felt... g-good.'
I even started anticipating when he would next come to my room... such a strange thing I could never tell my parents... could I?
His teeth didn't leave a mark either so I doubt they would have believed me...
I haven't seen that other side of him for a long time, the one only I know... the two sides of my brother... which one is the real him?
I think back to my parent's killer... that girl.
She drank our parent's blood in the same way as my brother but unlike my brother's gentleness she killed them... I can't forgive her.
I remember how my brother somehow sealed my lips and even made me lie to the police.
'Why would he do that?'
'Unless...'
I can't help but think my brother knows her but even worse... he is protecting her.
I don't want to think that my brother is the same as her.
'Doubting my own brother... I'm the worst...'
'but still...'
"S-saito..." I call his name hesitantly.
My brother slowly looks over to me and noticing my pained expression I was unknowingly making he holds my hand before saying.
"Hikari? What is it?"
That warm peaceful smile on his face... it can't be fake... can it?
That's right he wouldn't know that girl, unlike her my brother is gentle he would never hurt me...
"N-nothing..." I reply
"Hikari... you can tell me anything, you are the only family I have left right? we will get through this... together." He says while bringing my hand closer to him.
"N-no... really it's nothing..."
'I really am the worst...'
That's right my brother might be scary sometimes but he has never hurt me... I'm his one and only little sister.
I should forget about that girl. Like my brother said I need to get past this.
...
After the funeral sevice me and Hikari went in the same car to our aunties house.
When we had got there our auntie embraced us and was crying endlessly saying how much she would take care of us, how our parents are in heaven and the criminal would definitely be brought to justice for his crimes.
'I couldn't care less though...'
The culprit is right here and I am the one protecting them.
Speaking of the culprit what should I do with her?
I remember she told me she couldn't stay in Hikari's body for long and just like me she needs to feed on blood.
I think I understand why... but then I need another way to keep Hikari silent about the girl.
I need her nearby to help with my plans and she needs to feed on blood namely Hikari's blood so I doubt I can keep her a secret... I will need to make Hikari accept her.
Hikari is a timid girl too shy to speak out her true thoughts such a girl won't be any challenge for me to keep her mouth shut.
She loves our parents too much to accept that girl... though I have a plan to change that.
Thinking to myself I smile as a plan begins to formulate in my mind.
...
Waving goodbye to our aunt who is leaving to work, she is just like our recently deceased parents in that she is rarely home she is too focused on her career I think she is in the music industry, she doesn't even have any kids of her own or a husband.
Watching our aunts car drive off around the corner I turn to my side seeing Hikari. I hold her hand and smile elliciting a blush from her as she turns away.
'Now that aunts gone I can finally deal with Hikari once and for all...'
...
In the dead of night I make my way to Hikari's room striding with soundless footsteps like a predator I make my way to her room.
Opening her door silently I see her laying down on the bed with her phone in her hand having fallen asleep in the middle of using it her headphones still on.
I walk over to her while still keeping some distance and whisper...
"You can come out now.."
After a few seconds of nothing happening I notice a cut form on her wrist and just like I have already seen before wisps of blood flow out into the air and begin to coallesce into the shape of a girl.
The cut on Hikari's wrist healing as if it was never there.
When it is finished a naked girl with white shoulder length hair and red eyes like mine stands infront of me before quickly running to embrace me.
Catching her in my arms I hear her say...
"M-master... finally...I can see you again"
a cute voice resounds softly in the room as she hugs me tighter.
I wasn't lying I did miss her... my precious tool that is.
"I missed you too now follow me, we can't talk too much or we would wake her up."
I say while looking over at Hikari sleeping blissfully.
"Mn" The girl says.
I hold her hand walking her out of Hikari's room and lead her back to my room.
...
After the door closes somebody opens their eyes...
'Why did brother come into my room... and who was he talking to? I didn't hear properly but it sounded like a girl... don't tell me it's...'
Thinking this Hikari slowly gets out of bed no trace of fatigue present.
Indeed this girl had been pretending to fall asleep.
