CHAPTER 28

If his friend was any bit of right and her accident had changed her, his interest was piqued. He wanted to know whether it was a facade or it was real.

Just then tbe light on his phone came on and her response came into his phone.

Picking up his phone he unlocked it and he read it. A smile broke out on his lips. He expected something else but got this.

"Hmm, Jade Jordan. What more misery hides in you? I look forward to seeing more of this sudden change."

Letting his phone drop on his bed, he allowed his thoughts go wide and after some minutes he got his phone again and placed a call through to someone.

"Hello?"

"Good morning Mr Jackson."

"Good morning. I need a full on record file on Jade Jordan as quickly as possible."

"Sir?"

"You heard me. Everything about her. Her hobby, when she sleeps, wakes up, name it. Everything should be sent to me by evening latest. Understood?"

"Yes sir. On it."

"Good."

Getting to the company, Jade called on her assistant and began to make more research on her family's company, Flames Design.

Due to how well they hated her, her step mother never wanted her to have anything to do with their fashion company.

In the same vein she did not want anything to do with them. All her life, she wanted her freedom. To be free of her sister's shackles and to get her life in order with the man she loved.

That was why she did not know much about their business. Save for the fact that her sister was the fashionista there.

Everything about them she wanted it. Their new business partners, those they were going after and their progress. They had taken her joy from her, it was time to take what they wanted to give them that feeling.

All these who had looked down on her before in the past, she was going to not take it this time and use her second chance to give them a taste of life.

She would help those who needed her help but as for her sorry step sister and step mother, she was going make them pay.

A young lady walked into her office after a knock and called out calmly. "Ma, you called."

"Yes." She peeled her gaze off of her laptop screen and looked ahead. "Have you gotten the files I asked you for?"

"Not everything ma'am. They are still being compiled and would be sent later. He contacted me that you would have them before the close of work," her assistant replied.

"Okay. Remember, Dina, mum must not know about this."

"Yes ma."

"You can leave. Send in my schedule. Let me have a go at it."

"Yes ma."

"That is all."

She dismissed her assistant but her mind was not still satisfied. She felt there was something else she needed to be doing but what it was, she had no idea at the moment.

But in that moment, images of her time with Alexander flashed before het eyes and she began to feel feelings she had once felt for him and immediately she picked her phone and failed a number.

How could she have shifted that love? Yes she ought to but it felt like she was not yet complete. She was in love and it may very well be her doom but she did not care.

'Just need to check up on him and that is all and make him lead this work to help improve him. Then I would be okay.'

Though she told herself that lie, she really hoped it was and it would be the truth.

Ring! Ring!

"Hello?"

"Hello, good morning. This is Jade Dragons. I am calling in respect to the proposal plan I asked for."

"Oh, ma'am. Good morning. Sorry I did not know you were the one," the man apologized from the other side of the phone.

"It is okay."

"Yes, about the proposal. Yes our team are working really hard to get it all done. Might I ask, is there any problems?"

"No. I was calling to say," she paused. She had not fully thought about how she wanted to present this to the boss of Alexander's company and just called.

"You do not need to worry, ma. Just say the word and we would try our best to make it happen."

"Oh. In that case I would go straight to the point."

"That is a hood one. Let's here it."

"Well, I heard that your worker, Mr Chase, is really good. Ensure he is on this project if you want to meet up and give me something tangible to work with. Nevertheless I expect something great."

"Are you recommending Mr Alexander Chase?"

"I am not. You know your best workers. Let's say someone mentioned me. I for one want to see how good he is and what he can bring to the table."

"Yes ma. I believe he is already on the team working on this project. Be rest assured, we won't disappoint."

"I believe so. Alright, have a nice day Mr Drake."

"You too ma'am."

As soon as she ended the call she dropped her phone with her left and and placed a hand on her chest. She had been reckless just now and forgot how the business world worked. Now they would think something was up.

"Stupid Aria," she blurted out as she dropped her head on the table to rest.

Her heart was still beating fast from what she had done. A stupid move yes, but she was happy that he was involved in the case.

It meant he was giving himself another start at life, a chance to get better and not wallowing away because of her.

Now she felt at ease that there was progress. She was moving on with her life, he needed to too and hopefully find another girl and love again.

Though she could not say the same for herself but he had to try.
