Luca's mother laid out the table for the guests and took out the finest of her crockery. After her husband was killed by Kanyon, she lost hope on so many occasions, but her son kept her going, and today, she has found her will to live again.
The youngest couple brought tons of vegetables, fruits, meat, wine bottles and grains.
"We had some extra, it will help through the winters and for tonight's dinner." The girl with the blackest hair Halri had ever seen told her with a lovely smile.
"You didn't have to." Halri tried to refuse but she and her mate insisted that they kept everything and fed the children.
Since the tragedy that had befallen them, the visit of these blessed strangers seemed to have brought hope back into their dreary lives. A will to survive had ignited in them.
