Reverie focused, "fine…" her bug had latched onto each of the attackers. With a gentle swift of her fingers, she felt their heartbeats through the connection.
"Now, stop," she whispered.
One by one, the water wielders collapsed, their hearts halted by her command. It was over in seconds.
Meanwhile, Karyan was on the ground, his face twisted in pain.
"It's burning!" he gasped.
Sin knelt beside him. "Why now?"
Karyan's skin was red, moving like something beneath was alive. "I don't know, it's like...it's trying to break out!"
Reverie ran over, "Karyan, hold on!"
She saw his hand, the skin cracking. "We need to cool it down, now!"
Sin looked around desperately. "With what? We're out of water!"
"Use the ice from them!" she pointed at the fallen wielders.
Sin rushed, breaking a shard of ice from a wielder's hand.
"Here!" He pressed it against Karyan's hand.
