The family of five returned back to the Grey Manor with different emotions. Shang Xu, the previous Queen was in a melancholic mood as the scene of the King worrying for the new Queen flashed through her mind again and again. Shang Shuan, the Princess of the Green Cloud Kingdom was relieved that her brother possessed the same level of Bone Tier as the young Prince. Shang Gu, the girl in red armor was feeling satisfied as she noticed how the Queen's face had turned after she saw her cute cousin's Bone Tier.
As for the Grandfather and Grandson duo, or better yet General duo, they were in their own world. When the onlookers saw their great General Hu, even though he was emanating an aura that demanded respect, they just couldn't help but smile as on General Hu's head, a small cute boy with chubby cheeks was lying on it comfortably as if the General's hair was a soft cushion.
After everyone returned to Grey Manor, Lunch was served by the previous Queen and her niece while the Princess watched her grandfather and little brother play with each other. After they ate their lunch, the table was cleaned up and everyone sat in silence while sipping some tea.
After drinking a single cup of tea, General Hu's eyes brightened as he recalled something.
"Now that Yang'er has finished his Inspection Ceremony, it means that it is time for his training" hearing General Hu's words, everyone else was surprised.
"Grandpa, don't you think that it is still early for my Angel to train?" Shang Gu asked with uncertainty. Her aunt and cousin nodded by seconding her while General Yang looked on curiously.
'If I recall, in my previous world everyone started training at the age of 10. Isn't three a bit too early?' General Yang pondered and waited to see how things play out.
"Yes Father, Little Gu is right. Everyone trains when they are at least five years old, even though a child finishes his initial development at the age of three" The ex-Queen stated.
"Also Grandpa, you trained me and Elder Sister Gu when we were eight. Why don't we start his training by then as well" the princess added.
General Hu calmly and patiently heard each of their statements before speaking,
"What you all say is sound reasoning. Although I trained Shuan'er and Gu'er when they were eight because both of you are girls and at that time, you were constantly pampered by your mothers who thought you would look buff like men and no one would ask your hand in marriage"
"But you have to understand that Yang'er is a boy and although other family's tradition are to train start their kid's training at five, our tradition is three years old, and do you all know why did I make that so?"
The Shang Gu answered her father's question, "Of course you made it so everyone one of become soldiers and get conditioning since young. That is also the reason why our clan has the greatest strength in the entire Kingdom"
General Hu sighed at her answer, "You don't think that other families tried to train their children at the age of three?"
Shang Gu shook her head proudly, thinking that only her family was the most smart and intelligent in the entire Kingdom.
"Little Gu, actually almost every single family within the Capital tried to train their children at the age of 3 using our family's method which was leaked but all of them failed miserably and those children of theirs have, in a literal sense, lost their minds" The ex-Queen answered instead of her father and explained it to not only her niece but her daughter and son as well.
General Yang was listening to their conversation and he had his own thoughts about this matter as well.
'It seems like much has changed since my death. If children are trained when they are just three, it must mean that the great minds have found a more efficient method of training. From that I could be somewhat at ease knowing that people have found a way to reach greater heights' General Yang thought.
"Gappa, I want to start training and protect my family" General Yang suddenly opened his mouth and spoke with conviction. He decided to end their argument by simply telling them his own thoughts. Although he was merely three, his mother, sister and cousin knew he was more mature and knew about the gravity of the situation. As for the way he called his grandfather, although it may seem immature, he felt better calling his grandfather by a nickname, maybe because both of them are Generals and he feels a special sort of kinship with him.
True to his thoughts, General Yang's mother, sister and cousin sighed in defeat and accepted their Grandfather's proposal. General Hu was the most happy because he felt what his grandson said was not something a child would say for a passing moment and forget it the next. He felt his grandson's extreme desire to protect his family.
"ha~ha~ha Now that is how a true man should be" General Hu laughed contently.
"We shall leave first thing in the morning tomorrow. You guys start packing your things while I take care of some things within the Capital" General Hu said before he left the Manor, of course after he put General Yang down.
General Yang looked at his grandfather's receding figure and turned to his Mother, "Mama, where are we going tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow we are going to our Shang Family's Territory" The ex-Queen replied. General Yang titled his head in confusion.
"I thought we will begin training here? Also, why isn't our Family inside the Capital?"
"Our Shang Family has a rule that all the children will be trained together with each other. This creates a special bond between the family members. As for why our Family isn't in the Capital is because we cannot live behind walls, doing nothing all day. Our Shang Family's blood is always boiling and excited, like your cousin over here who just cannot simply rest" the ex-Queen answered and pointed at her niece who brought her tongue out playfully. General Yang eyes brightened in realization as he always wondered why he could not sit down calmly for a moment. He had too much energy which seemed almost endless.
General Yang looked at his mother and sister with concealed sadness. His mother and sister were of the same bloodline but they are not energetic because of what happened with them. General Yang clenched his fist, vowing to himself to make them happy and come out of their grief.
......…..
The next day, General Hu along with his family went to the King's Hall and requested an audience with him. The King along with the Queen, who seemed to have awoken, were sitting on their seats before General Hu and his family arrived.
After entering the Hall, General Hu stepped forward and spoke, "King, today I and my family will leave for Shang Family's Land"
General Hu could've simply left but that would be too much of disrespect so he decided that it was enough to inform them in person.
The King and Queen frowned at this news, especially the Queen who didn't want any the four except General Hu to be out of her grasps.
The King thought for a moment before speaking, "No, they shall not leave the Capital".
Hearing the King's rejection to his statement, General Hu was calm and asked, "May I ask why?"
"Because she is my wife and those two are my children. They are not to leave without my permission and I haven't allowed them to leave" the King decreed in a domineering tone. The Queen smiled at the King's words and looked at General Hu with mockery.
The General was about to insists but his granddaughter, Shang Gu spoke before he could, "Actually the wife that you expelled, the daughter that you ignored even when she needed someone's shoulder and protection, especially her father's and lastly, the son that you so magnificently dropped after discovering how frail he looked"
The Queen stood up in anger and bellowed out towards Shang Gu, "Shut your lies servant, you have no right to speak in our presence"
General Hu became angry after hearing his granddaughter's words. He knew that although she was mischievous, she never lied and after hearing the Queen's words, the anger turned into fury.
"Good, Good, Good, Murong Baishi, very good. I shed all my blood and sweat at the borders of this Kingdom to protect it, to protect your petty life and you actually drop my grandson just because he looked weak?" General Hu didn't raise his voice but everyone in the Hall could notice the fury behind those words.
"I ignored when you treated my granddaughter unfairly, I ignored when you expelled my daughter from the Palace but I cannot ignore when you bring harm to my family" the atmosphere in the Hall was suffocating. Even General Hu's family became suffocated, except General Yang.
"Let's go" General Hu turned and started walking towards the exit. General Yang released his own Divine Consciousness to nullify his grandfather's aura effect on his mother, sister and cousin. All four followed behind the grandfather.
The King stood up in anger and bellowed, "Shang Hu, you are my General, my subject. Don't you dare show such disrespect to YOUR KING!"
Seeing that General Hu wasn't listening, he became furious and ordered, "Knights, apprehend this disloyal man"
All the knights trembled fiercely and they hesitated. No matter how much courage they had as being elite Knights of the King, they were scared witless of the General.
General Hu had ignored all the mistreatment that his family experiences simply because he knew it was a normal occurrence in all Palace Politics. The positions changed every now and then but he could not ignore when his family's life is in danger.
The Queen was also seething in rage. Ever since she had become the official Queen, she wasn't gaining the respect and reverence that she expected to and the culprit of all this were these five. She snorted and left the Hall. She went back to her room and closed the doors tightly.
"Heed to my call" The Queen said out loud. One would think the Queen was talking to herself but the next moment, shadows from all over the room materialized and came in front of the Queen. The Queen's eyes turned red as blue veins started appearing on her skin throughout her body.
"Kill that barbarian and those three bitches, but don't harm boy and bring him to me alive" The Queen's voice had suddenly changed and became very deep and loud. The shadows simply disappeared after hearing their Master's order.
When the room became truly empty, the Queen's features returned to normal and she started to speak to herself in a normal tone, "Although everyone thinks that the boy has a Tier 6 Bone, if it weren't for the potion I used, his true talent would've been revealed"
The next moment, the Queen suddenly showed a malicious smile, "ha~ha~ha Shang Xu, you will be forever played by me. The true purpose your children are nothing more but a sacrifice to my children allowing them to reach greater heights. Your daughter allowed my first son to become a never seen before genius and now your son will likewise make my second soar to new heights."
...…
Within a carriage, General Hu was sitting along with his family of daughter Shang Xu, two granddaughters Shang Gu and Shang Shuan as well as his grandson, Shang Yang. The atmosphere within the carriage was solemn as General Hu was sitting quietly with his eyes closed along with General Yang, his grandson.
The carriage was drawn by four horses. There horses were blood red in color with pointy and sharp spikes instead of a mane. These horses were two heads taller than normal horses and their bodies were ripped with muscles. These horses ran at a very fast speed, far faster than normal horses and their stamina were extremely high.
No one was controlling the horses as they were of a higher race and possessed some degree of intelligence. As the carriage was being drawn by these blood red horses through the streets of the capital, the bystanders were in awe. These horses were the signature mounts of Shang Family, called Battle Horses. Each Noble Family had their own special mounts which they were recognized from however there were only three families whose horses stood out form the rest. They were the Royal Murong Family, the wealthiest Chang Family and toughest Shang Family.
The carriage soon went out from the gates of the Capital and the guards stationed there didn't dare stand in the horse's way. Everyone recognized Battle Horses and whose family it belonged to. After leaving the gates, the Battle Horses surprisingly became even faster and they left a huge cloud of smoke in their trails.
Just as the carriage left the capital city, unnoticed by anyone, seven shadows flew from over the walls of the capital and pursued the carriage.
...…
After almost half a day of travel, when it was noon, the carriage stopped by a river bank. General Hu and his family came down from the carriage to stretch a bit and eat some food as they were beginning to get hungry.
"I will go and hunt some animals. Stay close to the carriage and horses" General Hu spoke as he unfastened the horses from carriage and let them roam free. The reason General Hu instructed them to be near the horses weren't so that they won't run but protect them as these horses weren't called Battle Horses for no reason.
General Hu vanished into the thickets of trees to hunt while General Yang and the rest started putting a large blanket on the ground. While General Yang was helping them, he suddenly felt a piercing gaze and immediately turned towards where it was coming from while at the same time he released his Divine Consciousness with its full force.
'Interesting, seven people who are doing horribly at their jobs. What kind of amateurs did the Queen send; they barely conceal their killing intent" General Yang thought in disdain.
When he had turned and looked at where the piercing gaze as well as killing intent came from, the seven people who were hiding became shocked. They were elite assassins of the Queen and they had been so easily discovered.
The head of the seven sent a signal to the rest and all of them came out of their hiding places. The seven assassins appeared in front of the four setting the blanket. Except General Yang, all of them became surprised at the sudden intrusion.
"Get behind me" Shang Gu summoned her courage and stood in front of the three. She unsheathed her sword and stood in a defensive stance.
"What do we have here, a little girl playing with a sword? Didn't your elders tell you that it's dangerous to play with sharp things?" the leader of the seven, who was standing in the center, spoke mockingly.
"Your job is to just warm beds and cook in the kitchen, not holding swords. That's our job" another one of the seven spoke in a condescending and released his killing intent.
The seven were waiting for a terrified expression to appear on Shang Gu's face as well as everyone behind her but they were taken aback by seeing no change in their expressions.
Shang Gu smirked when she saw their surprised faces after they released their killing intent, "Seriously? That's the best you could do? Even the kids of my Family are better at releasing their killing intent" now it was her turn to spoke in a mocking tone "like this" before she released her own killing intent.
The seven assassins were shocked at the intensity of Shang Gu's killing intent and all of them released their own to nullify it.
Even General Yang raised his eyebrows at his cousin's level of killing intent. Such amount of killing intent was worthy of those who had seen blood and shed it.
"Petty tricks" the leader of the seven spoke in anger as he took a deep breath. The next moment, a gust of wind seemed to originate from him and blew out.
Behind the leader, a Plaque appeared out of thin air. This plaque was bronze in color and hexagonal in shape. On this Plaque were many small round holes and some of these holes were lit up with a grey light.
Seeing their leader, the rest of the seven also took deep breaths and behind them bronze colored hexagonal Plaque's appeared. Each of the seven had different amounts of holes lit up in grey light.
When Shang Shang Gu witnessed this scene, her expression turned serious. A bronze colored Plaque also appeared behind her which had many holes lit up except it was white in color. Seeing her Plaque, the seven assassins' expressions turned serious.
'What do I do? I am over numbered and I won't be able to defend them all' Shang Gu thought in worry. However the seven assassins didn't give her much space to think of a strategy before three of them moved towards her at breakneck speeds.
Three assassins turned into shadows as they charged at Shang Gu. One of the assassins attacked her head on while another went on her flank and attacked. Shang Gu moved to defend the assassin who attacked her head on while at the same time turning her legs and shifting her center of gravity to evade the attack coming from the side.
At this moment, the third assassin came attacked Shang Gu after noticing an opportunity had presented itself. She had already her guard against the third assassin and she noticed him immediately when he moved.
Pushing her sword forward, she made the first assassin retreat and turned her sword to meet the third assassin. It was very difficult for her to face three assassins who clearly had been together for quite some time, seeing the fluent teamwork they were executing.
The leader frowned as he saw three of his elite men were at a standstill against the young girl who seemed to be barely 14 or so. Although she looked mature, the leader knew that it was because of the training she went through and her real age was actually less.
'Now wonder Master wanted this girl dead along with the other, she has too much potential and if she escaped, anything could happen" the leader thought and decided to intervene in the fight as well to finish it.
He had experience in his job. He signaled the rest and everyone moved towards the girl. Although it may seem overkill, but they didn't want to take any chances and fail their mission.
General Yang was observing the fight with great curiously. Everything was so different from the usual way of fighting that he knew, most of all the Plaque that was hovering behind them. He could infer that this Plaque defined the power level but with his Divine Consciousness, he sensed this Plaque didn't do simply just that.
General Yang suddenly furrowed his eyebrows when he noticed the leader of the assassins signaling the reaming. He snorted as he was about to stop them but he noticed something else with his Divine Consciousness and before could react, blood was suddenly splashed and it bathed his whole body.

Author's Note:
Hey there. So i noticed many people asking if the mc would be op or not. Yes he will be strong, but he will eventually become strong. I am trying to make this story flow and not make the mc gain a sudden strength increase in a second and then start thrashing everyone. Once again, this will not be usual xiania/wuxia novel where a random bystander will get offended by the mc or boot lick his ass. I wont make the story progress just by having mc offend someone, kill em, their sister comes, kill em, their mother comes, kill em, their grandmother comes, kill em and so on.
I will not explain about cultivation levels or the world and what not simply by info dumping. I will make my readers discover everything along with our clueless General.
That brings me to another thing, i will not explain everything and leave some for the readers to use their imagination on or guess things. Like the part in the previous chapter where the queen become surprised at mc having a tier 6 bone and in this it is revealed that she was surprised because she realized that mc actually had tier 7 and if there wasnt the tampering with the needle, mc would've shown a greater talent than her own son. What implications would it create? I will let you guys run wild with your imaginations.
This is also another big chap with 3.2k words. Although i said that i will release 4 chap a week, i am trying to create a chapter as soon as possible and post it so that the story progresses somewhat and this would also attract new readers since by the time the read upto the latest chapter, they would know a little about the plot and then further decide whether to follow or not.
So, i left with a cliff hanger which i wanted to do so badly. I know most readers hate cliffs and i promise to do them rarely.
Finally, our mc has been bathed by blood, what do you guys think happened? Is his cousin safe or not?
